I just finished mine amazing thank you so much that did work i got an amazing sound isolation up to 50% so far i made it a little simple for example o didn’t build a light instead i put a led light strip and instead of electric box i sneaked a thin power strip underneath one of the walls worked fantastic so happy with it did it in 3 days full time
I actually own a real Whisper room and I think you did a fantastic job on this build! Wish I would have had your video prior to purchasing mine, I could have saved a whole told of cash!
I've been putting locking casters on just about everything I build - workbenches, rolling carts, all but the biggest of shelves. It makes life so much easier. Turns the cramped shop into a big sliding puzzle game. LOL
Oh Wow! My oldest sibling, my sister's first crush / love, (whatever it is called when you're a teen), was late 70's. His name (nickname), was BotS. They were hostel-dogs in Witbank High, ZA and his family had a farm in Botswana ... hence "Bots". Useless info but sweet to remember.
I came across your channel just browsing. You have given me the instructions I need to do my booth. Thank you and love the videos. Thank you again, once I get started on my booth, I'll shoot you some pictures.
U need a mass loaded material between the foam and plywood shell. Auralex Sheet Blok or something similar. A compression gasket where all panels meet would be beneficial. Lam- Glass for the window in a closed foam suspension mount as well. Seal the outlet box with a mastic pad and caulk. Otherwise not bad.
@@EricStrebel Sure! I have designed and constructed several studios, everything from project to pro. I consulted to Eric Smith ( founder of Auralex) in the early days.
Thank you ..nice video...but i noticed 2 mistakes ..the 1st one u forgot about the ventilation..especially during summer... and the 2nd one you are tall and your head will be so close to the led light ... Thank u again for the video
I love the build that you did. I'm planning on building a booth similar to this one in the near future. As far as the fumes in between the glass. I was wondering if you drill a couple of holes between the glass tracks apply your sealer and your glass and frame it out with your last piece then let the fumes escape over about a 24-hour period before you put the insulation in and close the door up? What are your thoughts on doing your window this way?
@@EricStrebel I'm already sold. I look at pt. 4 1st. I have a booth in my garage. Now I want to build one for trouble youth. I'm a mentor for kids just like I was. Trying to get these kids to express themselves through song but be able to to go to them. I have cashapp or I can send it through pantheon
Those aren't turn buckles. They're quick release toggle clamps. These are the ones I use: 8PCS Toggle Clamp 4001 Heavy Duty Hand Tool Quick Release Metal Holding Capacity Latch Type 220 Lbs www.amazon.com/dp/B074FY998D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_Yu3fDb19ESS71
Great series, might use these as a guide to make my own booth soon. Just a small bit of constructive criticism about the video, you should be a bit more careful with your spelling and missing letters in words. Other than that keep it up man youre doing great
This would not be good for recording vocals in at all - it is essentially a tiny room with hard surface walls and only that minor amount of the triangular acoustic foam on it. That amount of foam would only absorb high frequencies but the mid and lower frequencies would be very boxy sounding. A professional vocal booth from a recording studio might look that small but they're actually much bigger room with so much (dense) foam lining the walls that there's only a small space left in the middle but there's so much foam between the singer and the actual hard walls that the reflections would be completely absorbed.

Dude you are hilarious, definitely using this to build my own whisper room this year, so thanks for the awesome videos!
Good luck
Great video series and nice Motorhead shirt!!
Thanks! Rock on!
U did a damn good job on that booth
Beautiful
That is really looking nice. The quality of the build is outstanding. I think you wore out Ace though. Thanks for sharing this.
Man, I love this booth! I'm making one based on this video for my studio. Working on mudd and tape stage of the room, next the booth.
love your videos sir

" I hate Rust-oleum products " was an interesting thing to say. What would you prefer, or normally use? Great build, like all your work. Thanks
It's applicable for this project but in general I stay away from the stuff I like the duplicolor for making prototypes and finish parts
Really usefull video, I'm attempting to build one. How did you fix the door arches, are they screwed into the top and floor panels?
Clamped and one screw
I'm wanting to build a bigger one for my setup, but I don't know how to plan it out. How would I go about that?

Eric, what was your material cost?
Hi! What is the price of this set up material??
Eric, would you happen to have an affiliate link for those turnbuckles? Thanks.

John Jones I found a tool called a toggle clamp kind of resembles these
I would love this for a design I want for a portable vocal booth. How much do you want for the design.
watch episode 4 and then let me know if you want me to build one for you.

Trying sale that
You need to add a high pass filter to your VO... killing me.
Feel free to make me one

How would I go about making it soundproof? I'm building a booth to sing in, and need one where I can get loud without disturbing the neighbors
