23 All about slingshot BB shooting. Frames, bands and tips.

- What's the deal with shooting BBs with a slingshot. Is it a good idea? What's a slingshot frame for BBs? What are slingshot BB bands? Any tips?
This is a topic we love here at SimpleShot because we think that shooting BBs is one of the best things you can do to improve your accuracy. Shooting BBs gives you feedback in a way that shooting larger ammo never will and you can massively improve your accuracy shooting BBs.
The question about a BB frame is simple. Any slingshot frame can be used to shoot BBs. It is common for shooters to use a small frame, but it is absolutely not necessary. You can shoot BBs from the Hammer if you like.
The more important question is that of bands. It is always essential that you match your band set to your ammo. If you do not match your band set to BBs, you will definitely lack accuracy and enjoyment. Make sure you use a properly matched band set for small ammo.
Then enjoy shooting small ammo with small bands. The draw is easy. The ammo is cheap. BBs are great for shooting paper and will help you shoot better in many ways!

I'm a dedicated pfs bb shooter i use 10mm straight cuts and a modified bb pouch..the bands i use range from 0.35mm 0.4mm 0.45mm thera band blue/green hope this helps

Shooting .177cal bbs is how I got back into slingshots as an adult,a soda can with paper behind it out to about 12-15 yards,they punch nice clean holes @very high speeds,stable to about 350 fps & definitely make you focus on the fundamentals.I feel it made Me a better shooter overall,.&with w/larger projectiles✓
can you tell me what size .177 cal is , i use 0.8bands on a short draw ,my ammo is 8mm steel bullies ,10mm steel bullies and 10mm lead bullies ,they travel fast the bullies
Great video and info, thank you. I'm going to try some with my classic Marksman wrist rocket. Do you know how fast the fps a BB can get up to?
The velocity will depend on the shooters setup and draw length.
Plus, shooting bbs is just great fun. Some bbs in your pocket and your favourite frame banded up for them and you have a inoffensive way of having fun when out and about. Small plastic bbs and a lightweight (the bands) slingshot are not as threatening as a pocket of steel balls. People don’t mind as it’s just a toy to them and you get to practice your accuracy. Added bonus - bb rated bands are also great for shooting clay balls as they weight about the same.
Which SS bands are recommended for BBs? I was shooting 1/4” last night in the basement and couldn’t see them either.
The Lite Flat Bands 1/4" work well for the BB's.
You mean airsoft bbs or airgun steel 6 to 8 mm ball?

I’m trying to find bands for bb shooting. I bought some a few years ago, but shipping on slingshot stuff is super expensive. It’s perfect for hunting birds here. I wasn’t comfortable shooting the bigger metal shot, because I didn’t like shooting up into trees, not know where it was going to land. With bbs it doesn’t matter. Also, for small birds it kills them instantly. Way cheaper to buy bbs here locally than shot from the mainland. I live in Hawaii. Shipping $5 worth of bands used to cost over $25. The only slingshots and bands they sell here are those daisy wrist rockets which to me are so clunky and slow. Glad to see you are still making videos, digging the beard.

I started shooting BB’s with a lite flat band one year ago - still shooting BB’s - lite bands are easy on my shoulder allowing me more shooting time
Besides that, BBs are cheap and a blast to shoot!
