There was a before and after. Cryptopsy is a "charniere" point in the history of extreme metal. It's one of the less accessible/borderline unlistenable (to virgin ears) death metal bands out there, yet I rank them (its my own personal opinion) one of the top 3 best DM band in the history of metal, alongside Napalm Death and guess who's third. LONG LIVE CRYPTOPSY, changez rien les gars. Vous comprennez le death metal comme personne. Meme pas schuldiner, ce pauvre connard arrogant (jai jamais écouté death, je connais juste l'intro basse de spirit crusher et le reste de l'album me faisait chier, les fans etaient des bourgeois arrogants, j'etais dans le death suedois at the gates, edge of sanity etc...) et contrairement a meshuggah (a mon avis des techniciens, mais pas des musiciens) vous arrivez a construire des morceaux variés et melodiques, en utilisant des structures complexes, sans alliéner le publique a la radiohead ou a la bjork (les gros snobs). Pour un noob du metal, c'est nul, pour un metalleux passionné depuis 30 ans, c'est du bonbon pour les oreilles. Aussi bon qu'une bonne bouteille de pinard a 120 balles : faut avoir les papilles habituées pour trouver ca bon. Sinon tas limpression que c'est du vinaigre. Faut avoit du gout.

The thing that bugs me about death metal, as much as I can appreciate it. I never really know what the guitars and basses are doing, I just cannot hear it and it annoys the fuck outta me! All this amazing playing and my ears can't hear it.
It takes awhile for your ears to learn it :) listen to what you like, :D

@@paulolson9696 Yeah and using ibanez 6 string baritone. If people just wanna go lower 6 string baritone is gold. Solar guitars also have them. 7string is cool to go lower and not sacrifice the higher range. Is cool because you can basically tune to Drop A while maintaining for example the E standard :V

How did you do the signal cuts with the toggle switch? Did you silence a pickup? I have an Ibanez and it only has a single volume control.
The guitarist is using an Ibanez Iron Label Baritone RG. Those things come stock with a killswitch.
Great guitar. I own one also. For a six string you can tune way down and still have good tension. Longer neck.

I believe it isn't actually a killswitch and rather just the pickup sector with the neck pickup volume set to zero. Juan Alderete does this trick a lot.
There's only one volume knob so how would that work you reckon? And there's already a five way pickup selector on the guitar, so... kill switch ;)
