Good suggestion. My thinking was that since the partition is done on the same column for both tables and hence the unioned table will still have the same 10 partitions. Some people do say it should be more than 60 though so I am still open to suggestions on that.

On question #9. The query has 2 steps so the optimized SU would be 120 (60+60), not just 60. Please advise if I'm wrong.
