He set up a man who was nothing but kind and helpful to him when James started in his new job, and as a consequence both deprived him of his family, shamed him to the world and got him sent to prison for an embezzlement James himself was guilty of. What Sami did was seriously bad and twisted - especially the way he exploited Kyle`s poor health and need for cash quickly - but since Sami had a legitimate reason to want revenge on James, morally he is less of an immoral character, than what James is. James framed an innocent person and removed him from his wife and family. Sami framed a guilty person, and made sure he got to see the inside of the jail, as he should have done a long time ago. As much as I don`t condone what Sami has done, I certainly don`t feel sorry for James. The only one I feel sorry for of the three, is Kyle - who both lost the man he loved and didn`t get the treatment he needed.
jwsm2 I can agree with you that Gregory Finnegan plays the character a lot better than it has been written. As for complex, I find James too weird to be believeable. As a lawyer he is just too stupid, and as personality (disorder), he is too all over the place to make sense.

James will need Harry, first with Jail, then maybe with Romeo ordeal and hell Kyle dying of his disease might hurt him, if a part of him still cares knowing he was set up for money. And now that the police would know what they were looking for, his guilt likely also would be discovered and he sent to jail. I don`t think for a moment Kyle has wasted the money on gambling, and spent his last few pounds on an eighties VW van. Getting in contact with Nancy so soon would have been moronic if he actually had hoped to extort money from Sami, since she likely would have informed the police, and Sami`s incentive to pay for Kyle to stay out of sight, would have been pointless. I think he just want to make Sami sweat for a while, before going to the police, so James will no longer be held on remand (they cannot hold him for having killed someone who is still alive). All Kyle has done is leave for a treatment he hoped he would get. He hasn`t done anything criminal. That was all Sami, and after Kyle had left. So with Kyle turning up again, the police likely would not have bothered going further with the investigation, since Kyle didn`t report anyone for having attacked or injured him, and also clearly was alive.

Brendan and his sister Cheryl owned and ran The Loft 8 years ago. Brendan was a closeted gay who became attracted to Ste. They entered into an abusive relationship (Brendan beating Ste after having sex with him). Eventually, Brendan came out and they started a more normal, loving relationship, but Brendan's past caught up to him, and he was sent to prison for murder. Emmett Scanlan, who played Brendan, and Kieron (Ste) had amazing chemistry between them, so many fans (myself included) would be thrilled if Emmett came back to Ste. It was one of the first gay domestic abuse story lines to be seen.
But it's getting to the point where if Emmett is too busy to come back I think they should recast till he does. But not in a way where Emmett can't slip back into the role, like making up a plastic surgury storyline just a plain recast where Emmett can come back
But anyone who is a fan of Emmett's can't imagine any other actor in the role. He made it so thoroughly his that I don't think I could accept anyone else playing Brendan.

Roy Flores With both Emmerdale`s Robron and Starry set to be moving down the ails, my guess both the two networks and soaps are in a battle not to be the one to lose. In light of that, splitting up Starry if Robron were to receive a smashing and, for them, very happy wedding, could cause a massive escape of viewers from Hollyoaks to Emmerdale. This because, as anyone who have been reading comments over the last few years will have noticed, there is nothing the fans want more than their fav couples to be happy. So as a consequence Robron would have cemented their position as the UK soaps number one gay couple, and Hollyoaks would be back to start, but without receiving any money for doing so. It could spell disaster to break up Starry now, or even to put too many obstacles in their way, at a time when Emmerdale`s Robron have proposed yet again. And are showing romantic kisses and ahhh moments, while Hollyoaks is having Harry going behind Ste`s back to see James. If I had been head of drama for Channel 4, I would have had a word with Bryan Kirkwood, to find out what plans he had to avoid Robron stealing all the focus in the coming weeks and months. Should Daniel Nicks` comment be representative for the majority of Hollyoaks viewers, Hollyoaks could have painted themselves in a corner with the various storylines involving the four gay characters in question, and give momentum to Emmerdale and Robron.

Starry is the only one word only couple of the current bunch of alternatives which have been around long enough, and are known by many enough (including people who don`t watch Hollyoaks) to have a chance to become as established and well known as Robron. Everyone has heard the name Robron! There are even those who belive it is the name of an Emmerdale character, and not the couple of Robert and Aaron - simply because they don`t watch the show, but often have heard the name. Therefore to break up Starry at a moment in time where Emmerdale is solidifying Robron even more, could prove a publicity and identity disaster for Hollyoaks. Putting Hollyoaks totally in the shadows of Emmerdale, since there is a great chance many of the viewers rooting for long time commitment gay couples, would flock to Emmerdale and Robron, should Emmerdale deliver that after their old favorite Starry had split. It is the timing of it which can prove dangerous to Hollyoaks. Having it`s leading gay couple drifting apart at the time when the stronger competition is doing the exact opposite, is likely to have many viewers primarily to follow Emmerdale and Robron. For both Hollyoaks and Emmerdale their gay couples are the most important couples of all, cause gay couples are the ones there are fewest of - which means those viewers (and a vast majority of those are women and girls - who also happens to be the majority of viewers of soaps) who ship gay couples have fewer alternatives to choose from, and therefore a few gay couples will have more viewers to share than the straight couples, since there are more of the latter, and therefore fewer fans for the various couples. Fans of gay couples also seems to be more loyal of their favorite couples over time, than fans of straight couples are. Just check out the comments around Nancy and Darren, Luke and Mandy, Mandy and Darren, etc etc. So if you view it objectively, Hollyoaks splitting up Starry at a time Robron is about to get hitched could prove a disaster for Hollyoaks. Even though you are absolutely right I am no fan of the character of James (but a great fan of actor Gregory Finnegan, who plays him), that doesn`t come into this at all. I am talking about the competition between the soaps of Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, and how their choices of storylines and direction could cause viewer to go from one show, in favor of the other.

And since the majority of people who turns to prostitution as a mean of income either come from families where that type of "career choice" has been made before, or who have been subjected to some form of sexual abuse, it is likely to assume that Harry - had James not introduced him to prostitution by offering him £10 000 for a night of sex - would not have opted for prostitution to get by after becoming homeless, but would have begged, or looked for a job instead.
Consequently James would, had he been a real person, have been responsible and the cause for Harry to having started selling his body.

Who is Brendan. What did he do for Ste which makes everyone want him to come back in those episodes of almost the end of 2016?
Is there any time when Ste loves JP again when he is with Harry?

Brendan and his sister Cheryl owned and ran The Loft 8 years ago. Brendan was a closeted gay who became attracted to Ste. They entered into an abusive relationship (Brendan beating Ste after having sex with him). Eventually, Brendan came out and they started a more normal, loving relationship, but Brendan's past caught up to him, and he was sent to prison for murder. Emmett Scanlan, who played Brendan, and Kieron (Ste) had amazing chemistry between them, so many fans (myself included) would be thrilled if Emmett came back to Ste. It was one of the first gay domestic abuse story lines to be seen.
But it's getting to the point where if Emmett is too busy to come back I think they should recast till he does. But not in a way where Emmett can't slip back into the role, like making up a plastic surgury storyline just a plain recast where Emmett can come back
But anyone who is a fan of Emmett's can't imagine any other actor in the role. He made it so thoroughly his that I don't think I could accept anyone else playing Brendan.
OH Wow! That means the writer of Hollyoaks creates the content base on the situations of actors and the sense which the storyline can be. This show doesn't take the plot of any available novels or stories ??!!
Obviously, Starry is gonna end in the wedding. Hollyoaks wedding are always a sign that a relationship has come to his end.
Besides, Sinead is bringing a new man that will be Ste’s new love interest. While Harry & Kyle will have to battle for James’s heart.

Roy Flores With both Emmerdale`s Robron and Starry set to be moving down the ails, my guess both the two networks and soaps are in a battle not to be the one to lose. In light of that, splitting up Starry if Robron were to receive a smashing and, for them, very happy wedding, could cause a massive escape of viewers from Hollyoaks to Emmerdale. This because, as anyone who have been reading comments over the last few years will have noticed, there is nothing the fans want more than their fav couples to be happy. So as a consequence Robron would have cemented their position as the UK soaps number one gay couple, and Hollyoaks would be back to start, but without receiving any money for doing so. It could spell disaster to break up Starry now, or even to put too many obstacles in their way, at a time when Emmerdale`s Robron have proposed yet again. And are showing romantic kisses and ahhh moments, while Hollyoaks is having Harry going behind Ste`s back to see James. If I had been head of drama for Channel 4, I would have had a word with Bryan Kirkwood, to find out what plans he had to avoid Robron stealing all the focus in the coming weeks and months.
Should Daniel Nicks` comment be representative for the majority of Hollyoaks viewers, Hollyoaks could have painted themselves in a corner with the various storylines involving the four gay characters in question, and give momentum to Emmerdale and Robron.

Besides... at this point... I think writers have lost Ste... they can’t seem to give him a storyline. While Harry is been tight up with James. Sami & Kyle drama plus the addition of Romeo & Mac’s return.
But... I know you despise James, so there’s no point in convincing you that James has change... that his past is the reason he acted so despicable, besides James might had framed Sami’s dad... but it was Mac & Marnie the ones who should be paying for that crime since they extort James to get that money at whatever cost.
But, I’m not gonna keep wasting words in convincing you... because I really don’t care about it. But, glad to see that the writers have redeemed James & that Kashif (Sami’s dad) is still alive & worked with James to get that money from the firm.
Roy Flores imo Robron are better than Starry. Sure they may not be as physically intimate as Ste and Harry but their love story is better, look at everything they’ve been thru. I hate that Robert cheated but aside from that stupid mistake he’s always loved Aaron and wanted him above everything else. Ditto for Aaron, they’ve always been emotionally faithful to one another unlike Ste and Harry. They’ve allowed themselves to have feelings for other men, Ste: JP and Ryan. Harry: James. That’s something that’s never happened with Aaron and Robert. Just me but I prefer Robron over Starry million times over.
Roy Flores I am comparing Robron to Starry in the sense they both are established as that identity - and have been for quite some time - which gives them an advantage in regard to both publicity and name recognition, which cannot immediately be achieved with a new pairing. Starry is the only one word only couple of the current bunch of alternatives which have been around long enough, and are known by many enough (including people who don`t watch Hollyoaks) to have a chance to become as established and well known as Robron. Everyone has heard the name Robron! There are even those who belive it is the name of an Emmerdale character, and not the couple of Robert and Aaron - simply because they don`t watch the show, but often have heard the name.
Therefore to break up Starry at a moment in time where Emmerdale is solidifying Robron even more, could prove a publicity and identity disaster for Hollyoaks. Putting Hollyoaks totally in the shadows of Emmerdale, since there is a great chance many of the viewers rooting for long time commitment gay couples, would flock to Emmerdale and Robron, should Emmerdale deliver that after their old favorite Starry had split.
It is the timing of it which can prove dangerous to Hollyoaks. Having it`s leading gay couple drifting apart at the time when the stronger competition is doing the exact opposite, is likely to have many viewers primarily to follow Emmerdale and Robron. For both Hollyoaks and Emmerdale their gay couples are the most important couples of all, cause gay couples are the ones there are fewest of - which means those viewers (and a vast majority of those are women and girls - who also happens to be the majority of viewers of soaps) who ship gay couples have fewer alternatives to choose from, and therefore a few gay couples will have more viewers to share than the straight couples, since there are more of the latter, and therefore fewer fans for the various couples. Fans of gay couples also seems to be more loyal of their favorite couples over time, than fans of straight couples are. Just check out the comments around Nancy and Darren, Luke and Mandy, Mandy and Darren, etc etc.
So if you view it objectively, Hollyoaks splitting up Starry at a time Robron is about to get hitched could prove a disaster for Hollyoaks. Even though you are absolutely right I am no fan of the character of James (but a great fan of actor Gregory Finnegan, who plays him), that doesn`t come into this at all. I am talking about the competition between the soaps of Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, and how their choices of storylines and direction could cause viewer to go from one show, in favor of the other.
