I actually enjoyed the two really laid back commentators and the camera work was excellent. However not posting the final result at the end is a big fail.
mattmakescovers and i remember many exciting moments where climbers were on the wall for a long time, fighting for the last move. thats not gonna happen anymore
I see it the same way. Not jumping onto the boulder with 25 sec to go just because you wont be able to finish it anyway... I really dont know what the rational was to change rules
It is a problem with killing the excitement for the crowd and also the setters not being used to the format with many boulders left blank with no tops, sometimes no bonuses.
Isn't there two commentators? All I hear is come on come on ... ok she's now moving her foot to a sloper, now she's moving it to a crimp. Back to a sloper now another crimp. Come on come on. Annoying.
That indicates how many attends the athletics needed to get the number of tops and bonus holds. So in your example of 1t7 2b6 you can read that this guy/girls made one top (1t) and required 7 attends to get it (1t7). Also the person reached two bonus holds (2b) within 6 attends (2b6). So the ideal number would be 4t4 4b4 which would mean that the athlete flashed all four problems (made 4 tops within 4 attempts) and also used all four bonus holds. The number of attends is important in case two atheletes had the same number of tops and bonus holds. E.g.: Athlete A: 3t6 3b7 Athlete B: 3t7 3b7 Here athlete A would be first, as he required one less attempt to get same number of tops. A little bit difficult to explain, hope it helps. If i made any mistake, please everybody feel free to correct me.
1 top in 7 tries and 2 bonuses in 6 tries - (you get a top for topping and there is a bonus hold in each boulder - you get the bonus when controlling this hold) the winner is the one with the most tops, if tops are equal then the number of tries is compared an so on
Please find a commentator who doesn''t just say "cmon (name)" every other sentence. You're not cheering on your buddy in the gym, you're providing commentary. The other guy was fine I just never really heard him. I enjoyed the video much more after muting and putting on some music.
Final Results {spoiler}
1. Jernej Kruder (Slovenia) / Fanny Gibert (France)
2. Jongwon Chon (Korea) / Janja Garnbret (Slovenia)
3. Jan Hojer (Germany) / Chloé Caulier (Belgium)
Climbing starts at 23:17

Did I miss the result table somewhere? I had to go on the website and download the PDFs to look at the results...
the 4 minute time rule really sucks...
I'm personally not a fan.. having to jump off mid-climb really takes out of the competition imo.

in CWIF the 4 minute rule was crap. Destroys the show.
I really dislike the new 4 minute time rule...

The first try by Jan on the first boulder was so crazy. Could only work for Jan.
Very good camera work ! Thx
is it me or has this new 4min rule ruined competition bouldering??

Cooles Wanddesign. Das 45 Grad in Rostock ist ähnlich *thumbup*
