We had a mix. Some on lead core, and at time we long lined the deep divers behind a board. The fish always seem to prefer one presentation method over the other so it is worth it to try both.
There's a camera operator in the boat that fished with us. He helped us set lines, drive the boat when needed and got to reel in fish. We just don't film the camera operator for obvious reasons. So 3 people = 3 lines.
Hey InDepthOutdoors I am a huge fan of your videos! I love ice fishing and the outdoors in general. I was wondering if you have ever heard of the lake called Houghton Lake in Michigan
Nice Video. You mentioned this is a universal method. Are you familiar with the Columbia River in Wa. State. Do you think Lead core and Planer boards will work out here?
Awesome show James, I just started doing this on my home water of vermilion in some areas. I have had limited success, but still learning. How do you figure the dive curve of the lure and how it affects the leadcore? I have just been figuring about 5ft per color for depth. Maybe I am fishing below the fish.
That rod with the board on it sure was surging....At that speed, how much line do you have between the board and the rod tip? It looks like the board is very far behind the boat compared to how far it is out on the side.
Do you add dive cure of crank with leader length to dive cure of lead core. Ex. With 32depth water. 3colors is 15 feet, what depth was fish at? Did you add tail dance depth
I don't see why it wouldn't. And if you have good electronics you should be able to find any fish outside of the weedlines with ease given how small the lake is.
When you say this will work on smaller bodies of lakes, how small do you mean? I have a 225 acre lake nearby. It's a dish shaped lake that only gets to around 35' deep. Weeds start tapering off at 12' & appear to end around 15'. The lake has perch, bass, bluegill, crappie, dog fish & maybe some bullhead. It has a small population of walleye (DNR planted). Do you think this technique would work on this lake? There is no rock or gravel that I know of. A response would be greatly appreciated!!!
Can you give some insight on why the hooks pop out when the fish is netted? Seems majority of your fish came off pretty easy. If you was to give slack during the reel in I bet they would come off. I’m thinking this is what I’ve been having trouble with. I get lots of strikes but not many hold on.
thanks for the videos

I'm a fisherman from Colorado,im also heading up near rainy lake north west bay, the camp I'm booked for is amik lodge! Can't wait.
Love the show!
Supertanker!!!!!!!
thank you. much appreciated information.
Awesome work guys:-)
In my experience Sufix 832 Advanced Lead Core achieves 7' per color so you'll want to adjust accordingly.
Mike O: The third rod you are seeing is the cameraman's rod. He also has a license, he's just not shown on camera.

That is awesome.
How Much line were you letting out and how deep were the baits running. And happy birthday 🎂

This guys from the east consider an 8lbr a monster nothing compared to Columbia or snake rivers

Nice 👍
Do you use braided line and is the berkley nanofil in white very visible in clean water
Do you prefer different rods for long lining mono vs running lead core?
how deep did you put the lures at

What angle to the water do you put your rod holders at when trolling cranks ?? Also the same thing but with bouncers what angle ?
I caught an 18lbr in February on the snake river no were near record breaker but common size
Yea ok idiot
What rod and reel combo were they using?
What kind and color lure where you using

What length eyecon rods where you using?
Was the pole on the left getting hit or was tht just the water!?
I want to ask what is the brand of your out trigger ??
Shimano Tekota 600.
What brand and model reel is being used in this video?
The next record breaker is either coming out of the Columbia or snake rivers

Oops, sorry to ask another question. Were you longlining the deep-divers, or were they all on leadcore??
Are you using lead core on your board rigs as well?
Not in this episode.
Just wondering, do you guys ever fish muskie on your show? Seeing you on Mille Lacs here makes me wonder.

Also. When you let the bait out, do you cast it out or have it start diving right from the boat?
Wat pund test line r u using
Ya ik
So how many fish did you catch?
If you guys would wrap a turn or two of double sided tape around the rail where you mount your rod holders they would stay put.
100th
What about rivers?
I fish in about 5 foot of water
Whatever happened to all that "ice content" you were going to keep uploading? Nice Walleye.
doug lee, think about the camera man?
Correct.
You are using 3 rods for 2 people. MN DNR regulations calls for only 1 rod per person. How do you get around that?
Camera man has a license
cuckooXi
2 guys 3 rods. Illegal fishing. 1 rod per person.
Hi Doug, actually three guys as the cameraman had was legal to fish.
