I would check out the se 1st gen and the 5s, the 5 isn't great. I have been using one for 3 months as a secondary from Samsung and more or less its kept my apple life down and secure pretty well for an “obsolete phone” apple says.. This would basically be what a budget phone of 2015 would feel like, maybe a bit worse with it's single head of ram not bad overall though I'll be keeping one until it is basically a paperweight then I'll swap to the se 2020 in my closet

The iPhone 5s shares the same quality as the lowest iPhone 15 camera setting (1080p at 30fps 60hz) If I'm not mistaken, the iPhone 5s and se hold up well with old iOS and cameras or the lack of ever being good hardware in these old ones to push them like old Samsung's a matter of fact my s9+ was a better phone then my s20fe 5g I swapped to it.
