    I never even knew these existed until I found one at the mall for $9. Didn't expect it to be much more than a strong magnifying glass. When I used it, I was extremely impressed. I'm now using it as a tool to observe plant life since I study medicinal plants as a hobby. Best tool by far. Didn't want to spend $1,200 on a full size microscope.

    Great little microscope bought a pack of 4 a few months back under £10 each . Great for the Grand children too. Useful for looking at leaves, flowers & Wasp Galls. Was amazes how well it works. Showed how wonderful a Silk Spangle Gall looked when looking through a microscope at it on an Oak leaf ! Recommend to anyone after a pocket microscope!

    I do have one and I have to say that it’s a pretty decent microscope just really simple. The only thing that’s a little annoying about it is that you have to be sure that you’re not moving your hands to much otherwise it can be a little shaky and that’s one issue I can have sometimes but other than that it does work out really well and I do really enjoy it!!👍

    If anyone ended up here looking for cool new things to look at, try finding a dead fly in a window sill!
    Just make sure there's nothing hard or breakable behind you, cuz I just crashed into the dinner table when some tiny maggot looking thing crawled out of an exoskeleton cavern I was following. Holy shit that was an experience.

      @@midgetman4206 It was! My heart still doesn't quite beat right when looking at dead bugs, terrified something will start moving lmao.
      aha, I ended up ordering that one like a day or 2 after writing this comment! It's pretty sweet but I don't have ready access to any bio-diverse bodies of water and have failed to really see anything move on the slide. (I've tried stagnant water from a park and some rehydrated bread yeast so far)
      I work in a kitchen though and it just occurred to me that a sample of the dishwasher's drain might have something fun to look at, I'll try to grab one tomorrow.

    Its a great product got 1 not that brand but identical. If you get 1 try and look at old coins, money notes, they a more detailed than you think. just get old coins not in use anymore, so you get the micro scratches. Then try a really old moneybill, and then a new one, try with a tiny AA batt powered UV light and see all the new safety features

    To learn the species of spiders, I need to be able to take pictures of the spider's genitalia. Arachnologists usually use professional microscopes at 40x-60x or they use very expensive macro lenses. I wonder if this pocket microscope will be enough for this? I just have to see the characteristics of their organs.

    • @AD270479
      @AD270479 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You almost need to be touching the item you are trying to view. Like the microscope needs to be sitting on a flat surface & whatever you're trying to view needs to be able to slide under the little gap you see on the clear visor part. So trying to view anything by just holding the microscope from any distance can be very tricky. So you need to have a really steady hand & get as close as possible to get a clear image. And as if that isn't already tricky enough, the image is flipped, so you also need to move up if you want to view down & move left if you want to view to the right, it's a total head fk.

    • @KandiKlover

      Yeah get the Gosky digiscoping adapter. It's awesome and you can attach it to any optic. Microscope, spotting scope, astronomy telescope, heat vision, night vision, rangefinder. You can also just hold the phone to it but the adapter makes it more steady and keeps the phone in position so you can get clearer image and video.

    how does this one compare with the MP-250 in terms of the lenses quality?

    • @CarsonOptical
      @CarsonOptical  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!
      Both have high quality aspheric optics, so the lens quality is very similar. The MP-250 has a higher powered lens system compared to MM-300, which gives you a smaller field of view, but increased close-up magnification.
      Hopefully this helps! If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call at 631-963-5000.

      @@nikola_tesla8454 After turning on the LED with the button, always start on the lowest magnification (60x on zoom wheel), and *very* slowly turn the focus knob through the range until you get your image in crisp focus. While adjusting the focus, when you put your eye quite close to the eyepiece, you should still see a white circle, and as you get into focus your image will appear instead. Also, reminder that any object has to be place directly below the microscope without any gap ( see 1:23 of video as reference).

    Is this a good microscope for seeing gold atoms in rocks

    • @CarsonOptical
      @CarsonOptical  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karim:
      To be able to see gold atoms, you would likely need a high powered electron microscope. You should however be able to see gold crystals with the MM-300. Most people use a 10x jeweler loupe to identify crystals, a 60x microscope might also work but it might be more difficult to find the crystals.
