Only in underground hip-hop, and there has always been underground. Underground used to played more on the radio early to mid 90's. Although I was too young to enjoy, but I still thought it was dope. Most the time you would have to buy it on records. Then it was only played certain nights during the week as a teen, but no underground on any radio anymore. Except satellite radio, and still that is a only a couple nights, or mornings during the week. It sucks they want to feed us their satanic garbage, but that's what happens when hip-hop turns full blown mainstream. CunninLynguists is amazing! ;)
you should listen to the underachievers they're a really gud rap group that is in the new generation of rap but not many people are aware of the fire they dropped in 2017 among all the trash out there
Right? This is my favourite rap album, and possibly my favourite one of all. IIt goes well with so many feelings in life. I randomly stumbled on a music blog writing posts about advanced successful songwriting techniques. I think the article was referencing some sort of special chord progression or vocal elements in production, and they had this track as an example. Heard this gem and immediately checked out the rest of the album. I went to HMV and had to have the last physical copy in Toronto shipped to the store (limited distribution). That last verse from Tone Deff tho? Holy shit. That's one of my favourite verses of all-time. That flow and the production all had me hooked. I had never heard a Cunninglinguists track before that. I've become a huge fan of Kno with his production styles. The sounds of this album combined with the southern drawl and lyricism, as well as a super cohesive concept, it all completely inspired a whole new sense of songwriting for me.
Great to hear that! I hope I love music just as much when I reach that age. CunninLynguists go above and beyond their contemporaries in lyrics, and the backing tracks ALWAYS knock the ball out of the park. When they throw guitar licks or organ tunes into the background that could hold their own as a song, it really does something special. Wish more artists would pay this much attention to the whole piece of music!
Wow..How captivating is this song?!? Up to date sound for today's radio & I don't even listen to the radio. People who only listen to commercial artist are missing out on so much. The entire Oneirology album is incredible.
I could kick my own ass for not taking the time to check out these guys years ago , its not like i didn't hear of them , just perfect from production everything every song every album ......... i love it
Kno is a genius with this beat...the Inspectah Deck sample is perfect It's crazy to listen to the entire Cunninlynguists catalogue...from Will Rap for Food to Oneirology. They're all dope but you can see how they've improved and progressed from album to album. Absolutely, without question, one of my favorite groups regardless of the music genre
kno is so underated its not even funny. Top, top MC and one of the best producers to ever do his thing! (literally EVER - you're gunna struggle to find someone with a back catelogue as consistant as Knos productions...)
@@galiciadabest right, but we talking production wise here, not rappin, so I wanna check out his work, cuz not familiar with the name on the production tip, feel me?

This is my favorite hip-hop group, has been for a long time. Never did I think their older material would be beat by their new shit. This song is a classic.
I remember when they came to STL and shouted out alright were taking requests. Screamed Enemies with benefits as loud as I could. Beat dropped crowd went crazy. Was so dope.
These guys.... In my opinion, are the greatest rap group out there. Possibly ever. Next to Sweatshop Union, of course. The beats, the lyrics, its all amazing. They are just simply incredible. I can't understand why this stuff isn't more widley known. I have turned quite a few mainstream rap fans over to the light side of the force by playing these guys for them. All they had to say was, "Wow. i can't believe i've been wasting my time with lil wayne!" *sigh* If only everyone was like that...

OMG I found my old coment (7 years ago) above this song and it is: lov this song !!!! I'm waiting for U in ŁÓdŹ tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOV UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
This has to be one of my favorite Kno verses. Tonedeff also did his thing. Its insanely hard to pick a favorite when every member and guest comes with phenomenal verses. Natti also really stepped up as a whole on this album.
This is SUCH a flawless record, this song barley scratches the surface of what they ended up drilling into on the album. These guys deserve so much respect for making oneriology...
We live in a world where we idolize celebrities, instead of just listening to their music or watching their movies. We need to stop looking at who's getting married, or divorced, or cheat, or whatever. We need to stop caring about these people and look at the real problems in the world, like poverty, hunger, genocide, etc. When I started listening to underground rap a year or so ago, my eyes have been opened. I've even met Juggalos who know what's up. We need to stop focusing on the media.
The last thing that the mainstream wants is for people to gain consciousness, which is exactly what this type of music does...makes you question things.
There is no possible way that I can hear this song and not feel better about my day. The last verse literally blows 90% of rap these days out of the water
