What is Risk Factions?
Wage war with five factions, each with unique abilities, in the original game of strategy and world domination!
We streamed Risk Factions the other day, and after a few restarts we managed to pull off something fantastic thanks to Chilled 's BIG DICTATOR ENERGY!
Gary:*Kills one of Chilled's 62 troops*
Chilled: "Woah Gary, I'm gonna need you to calm down"
Chilled, there are 4 kinds of troops in this game:
Neccessary troops: the single unit needed to control a territory.
Agressive troops: the troops needed to break into new ground
Defensive troops: the troops on your *border* that defend your territory from Aggressive Troops. Can become Aggressive troops at a moments notice when the opportunity arises.
Dumb troops: troops in excess within your border not doing anything.
When playing these games, Neccessary troops will exist whether you want them ton or not, Aggressive troops are how you win, Defensive troops are specifically for chokeholds that make a difference, and dumb troops are to be avoided, placed into one of the 2 active categories, and reduced to Neccessary troops when possible.

These "Risk" videos make me want to see Chilled do a multiplayer game of Civilization 6.
I like CIV 5 way better than CIV 6... But I'm also not reading things so 🤷
Any civ is fine imo.
After the "Burnout" video, I don't think Chilled wants to organize a 6-8 hour collab recording session in the near future.

hey chilled in future the way you win is strategically control your borders by having the least amount of territories that connect to other territories and stack your troops on the front lines so your troops are most effective. for example you want control Russia and middle east and kamchatka and the one above Indonesia which means you have 4 territories for your border rather than 5 it sounds negligible but when you have stack of 40 troops in on your border a 8 at every border is much more powerful than for example some scattered 7's

There are two things you need to learn:
1) Everything inside the borders of "at-risk" territory do not need more than 1 troop. That's a waste.
2) Split troops when you need more than 1 troop remaining. You don't have to send them all to the destination. Sometimes the source territory needs people (if it's an at-risk territory or you want to attack from there again).
Rule 1 does have some exceptions as we saw in this game.
When there's no way to cover all of your borders and somebody can burst in regardless of what you do it would be wise to have at least some troops on the important places in the middle of the territory so that you maintain bonuses from them.
@@bolbyballinger Agreed. But him leaving the 5's and 4's the way he did was definitely mostly wasteful.

I used to play this game on the xbox 360. The cat faction was super broken and would roll 6's like ten turns in a row. It was crazy.
Who else died inside when he chose the airfield instead of the defense die?
Word of advice Chilled of all the continent bonuses North America is the best if you get a good start there it only has three ways into it if you have all if it and it gives a +5 troop bonus the same as Europe but Europe is also harder to control

Demiwolfwood i think it’s more be because it’s 2 more troops, and a one way in one way out continent adjacent to his territories. easily could’ve taken it out and never worried about it and had the bonuses

I’m screaming at my screen. Should have taken Australia the first chance possible. Three capitals and a continental bonus from there. You can’t out troop that unless you have almost the whole map.

You really need to just stop and think for like 5 seconds before you do things. XD Why are you worried about Japan at 12:15? It can't be attacked. Every territory it's connected to is held by you. Move your troops to your fronts, dang it! XD
Oh ffs, lol. 16:10. Why put the troops there? They do nothing there. You rationalize it by wanting them to "lose some troops" in your territory with 1, but why make them lose some troops and lose the territory when you could've moved 4 troops from your capital and made your border a 7? IF they attack, they'll probably suffer heavy losses and then you storm over them next turn with your reinforcements.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone so utterly inept at risk win a game so convincingly, even against AI. Had you played properly, you could have won in about half the time. I congratulate you on your victory, but holy hell was that cringeworthy.
