Just wanted to take a sec to thank you for your work this season. I'm a 62yo Red Sox lifer who lives and dies with the team. I live in NC so I don't hear much coverage of the Sox (not that Boston sports radio covers them much either) so your putting together reactions and giving info on the big league and minor league teams is the main source of Sox coverage for me. I love your enthusiasm and passion and wish you all the best. Keep up the good work and may all your dreams come true!!
Congrats on the interview I think this is your best interview so far great job. Getting used to it nice! Teel will be really solid he just needs to not be rushed he needs to be prepared and whenever that happens is when they should call him up not before. That seems obvious but I think the push will be to have the big 3/4 all come up next year but with him specifically I think they need to make sure everything is on point so he can make his debut like Adley did and be a leader on and off the field on day one without being a liability on either side of the ball. This might be out of spring it might be mid season but they should wait on him more than the other guys in my opinion.
@@redseatradio I'm worried that with them intentionally moving them all together that they might push him too early but in my opinion they can push the others if they want but not him if we want him to be great long term
Kyle Teel is the future at catcher, that being said, the nuisance of learning to manage a pitching staff is what he needs to work on, before he's ready for Fenway. Hopefully the Red Sox don't rush him like they did Blake Swihart. I think he's got a few years to go before he's fully ready for Boston full-time. I will be late to the live tonight, as I'm on Mountain time and get off work at 5pm, but will be there 😅....thanks Corbin
Around a strikeout a game is not really what you want...However,,in Kyles last 34 plate appearances he's only struck out 3 times against 7 walks while going 9 for 24 with 2 homers and 9 rbis,so that is a big improvement!
Another top RS prospect interview! This new found Corbin fame will go to his head! I think that Teel 's response learnings pitchers was the perfect response to your question. His defense is the most important thing, because we have seen how the RS defense has hurt them. You have been too critical of Wong's defense this year. Rich Gedman was the spitfighter before Jason Varitek who wasn't the same hitter, but he inspired the RS to the 1986 World's Series.
Teel will eventually be good. It might take him a while especially as a catcher but I think he definitely has a bright future and unless something unforeseen happens Teel will be the number one catcher for many years.
Here's an intelligent very young man who plays the most difficult position in sports, and has p incompetence level about I'm a major lager abv who might have seen a season 2. The numbers aren't there yet with , as well as the intangibles involved in being a major league catcher but they will catch up with the experience. This is the show I've been waiting for Corbin you did a great job as always I commend you for the rapid progress you've made.
I think all 4 will be invited to spring training next year with a chance to win a roster spot out of spring training. I think both Anthony and Campbell have a great shot to make the team. I think Teale may need a little more time but probably spring training would be a good time to get used to major league pitchers. Metyer may not make it up till there is an injury to Story. Do mot be surprised if all or some start slowly especially hitting. A catchers main responsibility is taking care of the staff. A good catcher could save a pitcher a half a run in ERA/
I know everyone is anxious to see Kyle Teel up at Fenway, he needs at least a year in Worcester before seriously integrating him into the major league. Meanwhile Red Sox should look for a defensive catcher to pair with Wong.
The best thing Boston can do right now is make a torrid run and get in the playoffs. The second best is to fall quickly so we can see guys like Teel on the team quicker this year. The worst is to hang on just long enough, not go anywhere and do little for the future. The fact he had an adjustment time at AAA confirms this could happen at MLB - but if this team goes nowhere, I’d really love to see young guys get some experience at the big league level.
I see what you mean, but I do think regardless of what they are doing at the big league level they will for the most part keep these guys on the same path they have been on
I think he should get worked into at least a platoon next year and hopefully get more than half of the ABs, assuming he makes the team out of spring training. The way the Red Sox are talking, he and the other young guys better produce. They don't sound like they will spend on bigger free agents, maybe they just hope they can pry a starter off of the Mariners or Marlins and then cross their fingers that the young guys all take a jump. And hope Giolito is healthy. I'm not confident here about their stance.
@@redseatradio all the time they never bring them up this young they wait til they hit age 23-25 other organizations bring up the kids early age don’t matter if they killing the minors they take the opportunity to bring them up. The Sox on the other hand do the opposite. With the exception of Rafaela
I think the Sox have to pick up another defensively minded catcher to pair with Wong. I think Teel needs more time developing the defensive skills in the minors to start 2025.
There is a learning curve at A.. AA.. AAA.. Major League Baseball. So, I don't get the point.. after 10 games.. whether Teel is impressive or not. A better talking point.. would be.. the Sox' have three /four shortstops/centerfielders.. total for MLB & Minor League Baseball. Counting this year.. Story is under contract for three years. Whats impressive? Teel hitting 30 homeruns in his first 10 AAA games? Dalbec had solid AAA numbers.. where is he now? I don’t follow your hype/drama. Plus, you throw around the " Superstar Label "... like Halloween candy. The last thing I would want on my roster.. is players' who believe that they are " Superstars ".

Well said!👏👏👏 We are full-time RV’ers and appreciate Corbin for the same reason!

I think you may be spot on with that take. patience may just be the key to his success. Question is are the sox okay with that

A few years? What? You want him trapped in AAA until he's no longer even a prospect?

Virtually everyone on the Sox other than Masa strikes out once a game, or more.
@@forgottenpath5919 And that's a problem

I agree I hope so
Good to have a lefty batter opposite Conner Wong. Hopefully his hitting gets better and better
Don't forget his defense, also learning a new pitching staff, that's a lot on his plate. He is gonna be a good player.

Thanks Kenneth!
I'm sure Teel will be an impact guy in MLB next year.

Id say sign Danny Jansen for one more year and maybe near the trade deadline call up Teel
First ! Teel might just be my kind of guy
Nice! He is a ton of fun to talk too!

Thoughts on a 2 year deal for O'Neill and trade Yoshida? Hes too good to just walk imo and he would play Masa's role but just a lot better fielding.
Please dump Yoshida, but the injury and money are a problem. Think the brass will eat most of the contract?
@@martinbressette4207 personally I think the brass won’t do shit and we should be expecting another .500 team until they prove otherwise
Predictions on tonight’s game calls stats pitcher analysis slumps and heat streak coverage simple as that bro word
How’s his blocking??
I could see Kyle to run for Congress seat after his Major League career. Dude is eloquent.
Really interesting guy to talk too
What about Wong
Wong can platoon against lefties. Varitek can mentor them both, Wong still needs work
My thoughts are that he starts 2025 in the minors and possibly bringing him up to the majors before end of season.
He will definitely be up at some point
It don’t matter if he’s ready the redsox always hold they guys up .
