Musical Intermezzo Alexandra Rotmann
This video is an exceprt from a livestream, which was taking place during the Global Economy Award Cemerony, in the Institute for the World Economy.
Alexandra Rotmann was born on December 11, 2000 in Kiel. She grew up in a musical family. Her mother is a pianist, her father an opera singer. She has been taking piano lessons from her mother since she was five and has also played the violin for several years. Alexandra has won many prizes in various competitions as a soloist and accompanist over the years. From the age of six she took ballet, jazz and musical dance lessons at a “Royal Academy of Dance” ballet school. Alexandra grew up backstage of Kiel’s opera house and therefore dreamed of being on stage from an early age. Starting from elementary school, she sang the main parts in various musicals. In 2013 she started taking private vocal training. First with her father and then with Enrico Dino Di Pieri (in Hamburg).
In 2015 Alexandra won the national competition "Jugend Musiziert" (in the field of musicals). Numerous concerts followed. Alexandra was a frequent guest at various events and concerts of the federal government (Hermann Ehlers Foundation, World Economy Awards, etc.)
As part of the "Kieler Woche" sailing regatta, she sang with the Schleswig-Holstein Symphony Orchestra under the direction of General Music Director Georg Fritzsch.
From the beginning, the stars of the world jazz scene such as Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Jamie Cullum, Caro Emerald and others had a great influence on Alexandra's musical development, but the encounter with Max Mutzke was groundbreaking for her, from then on she knew what she wanted to do.
But Alexandra's musical interests are not limited to jazz. She composes her own songs and likes classical opera, rock and musicals.
Since 2019, Alexandra has been singing with the "Swinging Feetwarmers Jazzband".
In 2022, she successfully completed her studies in graphic and communication design.
