You can tell Guitar was his first instrument. Gave the man opportunity to flex his guitar set up and he went in. Kind of like me with sampling! Incredible amount of gear... this video about to make me act up on Black Friday 👀👀
If you’re looking to get great guitar tone from a plug-in I highly recommend not getting Neural DSP and getting Helix Native instead . Neural Dsp kind of rips you off by selling all these different signature plugins with only three amps and the same effects. Helix native is more expensive than one neural dsp plug-in but comes with 30+ amps, tons of cabs and mic sims (with mic positioning as well), 100s of pedals (including some of the ones shown in this video), all in a single plug-in. Line 6 Helix is pretty much the standard when it comes to amp modeling and imo sounds better and feels more like a real amp compared to the Neural DSP ones.
I own a Helix Stomp XL (the actual hardware) and i think this is really bad advice. I get that you think only those 2 options exist, but there's a whole world of guitar stuff out there... ..and you don't need all of it. Get a demo of guitar rig or something and figure out what your sound is first. Once you've done that, 90% of guitar players would be completely fine and have lots of room to grow with a single Neural plugin. Helix, despite me using one every single day is NOT the standard at ALL when it comes to amp modelling. In fact, it's an underdog. The cabs sucked forever and there's a few people who are really trying to convince people they're fine now, but very few are convinced (Even I use the expensive cab and mic it up for clean tones). Everyone would agree (including me and other Helix users) that the industry standard would be a Cortex, right now, which is over twice as much as my stomp xl.... and guess who makes the Cortex? ;) If we're talking tone for cheap though, it's all about getting the Steven Slate bundle for 9.99/14.99 and go the fuck in with the TH-U stuff, there's a fuckton of stuff in there for you to figure out who you are as a player... or if you're more of an actual guitar player who just wants a great amp and all the customization and effects needed to make your playing shine, just buy Rhino by DSP Aurora for $89, shit sounds fucking amazing.
There’s beauty that comes with having limited options… I was using the full version of BIAS FX for a couple years (100 amps, 100+ effect pedals etc). And I’d be so fascinated and overwhelmed by all the options that I’d waste too much time settling on a tone.. Then I got Neural DSP: Archetype Tim Henson, and it made my workflow SO much easier because of how limited I was to choose effects (3 amps, 6 pedals). Plus sound-wise, the quality was way better
@@soccerman127 that’s definitely one way to approach it. I started by using bias fx but never got it to sound the way I wanted and eventually got the Neural DSP Cory Wong. I really liked the way it sounded, but always felt that when I went to a real amp it responded much differently. I only stick to a couple amps on the helix but it’s nice to be able to quickly switch between a clean fender tone and a metal Revv Red tone.
@@noname-ng6sj I’ll have to try out some of those cheaper modellers as well. I feel like with the cortex I haven’t see much of it other than sponsored youtube videos promoting it. Some people say it’s better than the helix and fractal, some say it doesn’t hold a candle to it. When it comes to live performances though the modeler I see the most is a Kemper. People rave about those things
@@PGAF the Quad Cortex is very similar to the Kemper but much more modern technology. It’s just been slow to get new features because Neural is new to developing hardware but it’s supposed to get its big 2.0 update in the next few weeks. I have one and personally I like it a lot and I think it’s worth it imo but it is admittedly pretty expensive.
