In our this video, we uncover the true extent of the aftermath following our tragic accident. Explore the challenges faced by us and the resilience we demonstrate in the face of adversity.
I commented before saying I didn’t think you should be driving right now. I would send the hire car back Trevor and use taxis for appointments etc, keep receipts and claim the money back through the insurance. Nice to see you both looking and sounding a lot better. 👍
Thanks for the update…… Just remember Trevor personal injury affects you both to some degree, don’t forget even though Pat may not have many physical injuries, she is still suffering psychological injuries as are you…….all deserve compensation, this is why a good personal injury solicitor will be a big help, because they are on your side….. please do not play down your injuries both of you, and accept what you are BOTH ENTITLED TOO….x
Be sure to exercise your lungs Pat by taking deep breaths in and out slowly. If you have any interruption of the air flow either in or out by a cough or clearing phlegm you’ve got to be certain to drink plenty of water to help your lungs free the excess mucus to avoid pneumonia settling in to your injured lung. So glad y’all were watcher over by good angels that day. The rest of living somewhat like you were together in you van will come as soon as it must. Just get your strength and stamina back first. This too shall pass, yes?
SOOO glad you are both doing much better! You are so very blessed in so many ways. Now comes the dregs of recovery both physically and monetarily. One day at a time! An accident like this can make one reconsider how they need to live for a spell for sure! You are in our prayers!
Thank you. I realise how blessed we are, but we don't have a ton of money, so it depends what we get from the insurance. If we can, we carry on as before, if we can't get a van, then we come up with an alternative, but I don't want to stop.
Thanks Kathleen. I do not tire of praising our Tracey for all that she has done, Pat and Tracey are out now doing a shop together. I am the luckiest man on earth to have such a wife and daughter.
Dear Trevor and Pat, it’s great to see and hear you sharing about your post-accident experiences. It is totally understandable that you’re feeling the way you do after the shock of everything as a result of the accident. Take things easy as you’ve been doing and you’ll make a good recovery, the two of you. 😁 My heart goes out to you both and I’m thankful that the two of you are alive, as I’m sure your family is too. I can see you both coming out the other side of this and settled with another camper van, that meets all your needs, enabling more travels and stories to be told. 😁 You have a wonderful daughter and family that are watching out for you and helping to take care of things. May God Bless and keep you all, Neil 😁
Glad to see you both looking and feeling better 👍👍. My mom and dad were in a terrible head on collision, not their fault, the fellow who hit them was a paraplegic and he lost control on snow covered road. Mom and dad flipped over and the car landed back on its wheels in a field. Dad suffered a broken leg, mom had internal injuries from the seatbelt buckle gouging into her. They both survived but dealing with the insurance took quite a bit of time. A lot of questions asked. Please be careful how much information you divulge as it might come back to bite you. Take care of yourselves, try to get rested up. Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦
You have a great family looking out for you mate and their advice is spot on, don’t drive until you’re ready, some really good older motorhomes out there with low mileage, and better build quality, if we can be of any assistance we are in littleborough near Rochdale from tomorrow, just shout we will here..🙏👍👊🚌

When my husband was in a severe car wreck, he was addled for awhile after. Like not remembering our primary care physician’s office had moved, that sort of thing. He had bruises and scrapes from the seatbelts and airbags. The Dr. explained his brain was bruised too, even though you can’t see it. Apparently brain waves get disrupted until the brain heals. He advised no reading or tv for 2 weeks, just quiet non stressful brief conversations. Nothing that would cause frustration or be taxing on the brain. Hello Trevor and Pat give a little time for everything to settle down I've been there and it will take time but never give up in time you will get there❤
Glad you’re both staying cheerful. You often said , why do folk watch you , well I suppose your followers all feel like they know you . For the young ones it’s probably like having a nutty grandad. Sorry , only joking. ❤ keep up the good work .
Sometimes it can take months for the thought processes to clear and the anxiety to settle.... Post traumatic stress is a reality.... I had a head on collision whilst I was sat at a traffic light waiting to turn right.... in the correct position..... A drunk driver came through a red light and hit me head on, that was 48 years ago... I still have flashbacks and anxiety when I have to do a right turn but I am really cautious. Just let yourselves settle, concussion is a serious thing and can take a while to clear.
It's hard to accept when you don't have any physical injuries, that your mind is injured. I felt that today. It reminds me I am still injured, even though I don't think I am.
Been warching you for years now. So sorry fir what you have both gone through. Just he careful what you say about injuries becaise some injuries cant be seen and will effect you in a couple of days. Any forms you have to fill in let Tracy do them with you. After what you have gone through its so funny to hear the way u talk about ya wash bag. Look after yaselves and get better soon xxx
Thank you for following us Marion. It's the little things in life that make up the big picture Marion, and take away my wash bag and the whole edifice collapses. 😁
Just want to make sure theyrs no long term injuries and thats why they do all this .im thankfull yous are both not terribly injured and sometimes having to get back into driving and just picking up again is difficult emotionally and mentally .good luck
You need to make a list of ALL of the problems & injuries to yourself both at the time & now as time moves on. Take photos of all of your bruises & bumps. Take photos of the inside of the motorhome to help you remember what was in there to put on the vlaims list . Good luck x
Dear Trevor & Pat, I’m so sorry that you’ve had such a traumatic incident. You don’t need to make any decisions yet as it’s too soon and you’re both still recovering.
Just a thought, if the driver is convicted, you can sue him for the damage he caused, also be careful after an accident, as shock can kick in afterwards
Even when you can drive again just take it easy for a while trever. My dad wasnt right with similar symptoms as you but didnt have an accident. Long story short he was diagnosed with lewy body dementia 😢he has passed away now but i do sincerely hope you make a full and healthy recovery 😊all the best to you both💜💜
Things will take time but try not to worry about anything just take time to rest and relax after the traumatic experience you have both been through xx
Praise the Lord you are both alive. So very sorry this terrible head on impact happened to you Sending love and prayers for you both from fellow campers in Perth,Australia.
First time seeing you guys on utube, I hope you both have a speedy recovery. You are both lovely down to earth couple. What a dreadful experience. Please don't let this stop you from being explorpers. Lots of love xx
Tracy is doing a great job looking after you both. All the dealings with insurance and the associated companies can be very challenging. It will all get sorted in time
It is nice to see you looking a bit better, my Dad has AF, take it easy for now, and let things get sorted, your tracy is is brilliant. See you tomorrow xxxxxxx
It takes time to get over a extreme traumatic accident that you two have had. The PTSD can take months. I heard the crash sound whenever I road in a vehicle for months after and to this day I am a nervous rider in a vehicle. Stay on top of any medical symptoms you have. Make sure you understand everything and don’t feel pressure on signing to close out accident. The other insurance company will probably offer a low amount first. I’m not sure how insurance works where you reside in. Continue to take care of yourselves.
You are the cutest couple. You have had a massive trauma, dont make any decisions about your future until you are fulky recovered both physically and psychologically
I was an a & e nursing sister for 34 years and believe me the that RTC was a major trauma. Although you are both very stowic, you have still been involved in a major RTC please rest and recover. X
Already said here but no need to worry about things so easily replaced in a few local shops 👍 Insurance wise / claiming...List all those things you've just mentioned in regards to what you liked (or wanted) about your van as if you were about to buy another one. May be useful later on in case you forget something important. Pleased to hear it's only concussion. Take it easy both of you xxx
We know what works for us in a van, and what doesn't. I am not sure I understand what you mean Rae. You see this is an example of how I struggle to understand what people mean at the moment.
It’s going to take time The insurance company need to do all the running around Don’t stress - I know it’s hard Were you fully comprehensive insurance If so you will get a fair deal Perhaps contact the Motorhome industry to see what they suggest ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🏴🏴🏴🏴🙏🙏
Not stressed, whether we are here at Tracey's or on the road makes no difference to Pat and I, we enjoy both. Yes I was fully comp, What do you mean by the industry? I have been on line and know what vans of the same year and make as mine are going for. Is there something more I can do?

Hi Pat and Trevor. I have only just happen to come across your channel in the last couple of days. I have been so sad to hear of the accident that you were involved in but grateful that you were not more seriously hurt. You have been through big traumatic stress over this and this will mess with you mentally. I had a car accident couple years ago now which was nowhere near as serious as yours, but it did have effects on me (happened on a small double mini roundabout here and the person that hit me i still say had no intention of stopping. Excuse he gave was lame in the fact he didnt know the road but yet was travelling way too fast for the road anyway.....yet i know he got away with very little. safety video was the major thing he had which i dont think was anywhere near what he deserved but hey i'm not one to say as im not qualified as police etc). Just be kind to yourselves over the next few weeks and give yourselves chance to recover properly. Things will seem much easier (hopefully) once you have recovered more from the physical and PTSD effects. My My best wishes go out to you both during this time. xx
Hi Vicky, glad you found our channel. Sorry you had a similar experience, so you know what it feels like. Tracey bought me some today. You just can't beat her.
@@trevorpat-lifeontherun thank the lord 👍
@@richfish101 amen to that.
Sending huge hugs and love to you both, really hope things are sorted soon for you both xx
Thank you Yvonne.❤
Glad you can have a laugh at your unfortunate situation.
I was only going to watch three of your vlogs. Now I'm subscribed to not only your channel, but Bonita and Dave's channel as well. Love to see you all getting on with life.
Here in Australia, we have a fellow I have been following for a while. He drives across Australia and has some really nice views of the country. He calls himself "The Homeless Truckie". Because, he's never home, is my guess. He drives a big red road train with two trailers.
All the best, that's it for me tonight. Tomorrow is another day. Cheers, Bazz.
Hi Bazz, thats great, Bonita and David are new to Youtubing, so some useful little pointers will help them.
I will check him out, thanks.
Hello Trevor and Pat give a little time for everything to settle down I've been there and it will take time but never give up in time you will get there❤
Thank you Mike.❤
My insurance write off was about 15% less than we were expecting....and we were being realistic.
😟
Glad you’re both staying cheerful. You often said , why do folk watch you , well I suppose your followers all feel like they know you . For the young ones it’s probably like having a nutty grandad. Sorry , only joking. ❤ keep up the good work .
Ha ha, that's so funny, I wonder if our Alethia thinks I am her nutty grandad, I must ask her.
Thank you Julienne.❤
You need to make a list of ALL of the problems & injuries to yourself both at the time & now as time moves on. Take photos of all of your bruises & bumps.
Take photos of the inside of the motorhome to help you remember what was in there to put on the vlaims list .
Good luck x
Thank you Linda.❤️
Dear Trevor & Pat,
I’m so sorry that you’ve had such a traumatic incident.
You don’t need to make any decisions yet as it’s too soon and you’re both still recovering.
👍
Just a thought, if the driver is convicted, you can sue him for the damage he caused, also be careful after an accident, as shock can kick in afterwards
I hadn't given it any thought Glen.
It's over a week now since the crash, I don't know what to say about shock.
Even when you can drive again just take it easy for a while trever. My dad wasnt right with similar symptoms as you but didnt have an accident. Long story short he was diagnosed with lewy body dementia 😢he has passed away now but i do sincerely hope you make a full and healthy recovery 😊all the best to you both💜💜
I will Chrissy.
Things will take time but try not to worry about anything just take time to rest and relax after the traumatic experience you have both been through xx
Thank you Ashley, I try not to worry about things, don't think I'm doing too bad, Pat never worries. Xxc
Praise the Lord you are both alive. So very sorry this terrible head on impact happened to you Sending love and prayers for you both from fellow campers in Perth,Australia.
Thank you Valerie, ❤️ very much appreciated from down under.
First time seeing you guys on utube, I hope you both have a speedy recovery. You are both lovely down to earth couple. What a dreadful experience. Please don't let this stop you from being explorpers.
Lots of love xx
Ditto, beautiful couple
Thank you, your very kind. I hate hanging about doing nowt, so something will happen.
Thank you Barbara.❤
Is your little shelled friend a turtle or a tortoise? So sweet!
A tortoise, he is called Ernie.
Hey you two hang on in there with all you have been through your doing amazing, Trevor you must be getting better…..you always did say daft things 🤣👍👍
I am not supposed to agree with you in case his insurance assessors are watching Barry, or they might accuse me of something.
Hi Trev and pat glad you are both recovering ! Take your time there is no rush, glad to see you both laughing and smi!ing all the best Dave and Bonita
Thank you David & Bonita.❤
Tracy is doing a great job looking after you both. All the dealings with insurance and the associated companies can be very challenging. It will all get sorted in time
We would have been in a right mess if I had to sort it, even at the best of time, but right now, no way Susan.
It is nice to see you looking a bit better, my Dad has AF, take it easy for now, and let things get sorted, your tracy is is brilliant. See you tomorrow xxxxxxx
I think we are taking it easy Jan, and that's all down to Tracey.
If it was us Debbie, I hate to think what we would do re the insurance stuff, we are leaving that to Tracey.
I think we are taking care of ourselves.❤
You both take of yourselves, and have time to respite.🤗
Respite, I like that word Diane.
Keep smiling x
We are very lucky Hazel.
God bless you
Thank you Sarah, He does, much more than we deserve.
it’s shock i am sure you will be your old self in a few weeks, no one could get through what you have been through without something not being right
Ha ha, I'v got an excuse now Sandra.
You are the cutest couple. You have had a massive trauma, dont make any decisions about your future until you are fulky recovered both physically and psychologically
Or thank you Jane, we are coming to that conclusion. ❤️
You'll be fine Trevor xxx
I hope you both recover fully. I love your positivity ❤❤
Thank you Heather. I don't regard myself as a positive person, quite the contrary, but Pat is.
It’s going to take time
The insurance company need to do all the running around
Don’t stress - I know it’s hard
Were you fully comprehensive insurance
If so you will get a fair deal
Perhaps contact the Motorhome industry to see what they suggest
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🏴🏴🏴🏴🙏🙏
Not stressed, whether we are here at Tracey's or on the road makes no difference to Pat and I, we enjoy both.
Yes I was fully comp,
What do you mean by the industry? I have been on line and know what vans of the same year and make as mine are going for. Is there something more I can do?
@@trevorpat-lifeontherun you seem to be knowledgeable about Motorhomes/RV’s
I’m sure you will be ok and there is something out there for you
❤️❤️❤️🏴🏴
Sorry for what’s happened to you both will take time to sort out, I had a friend who had their van written off and they went to the storage yard and emptied it out within 2 days of accident
💙❤️
Lots of luck
Thank you Nancy.
🦋🦋🥰👊
Thank you for the video and gift Stephen, your a star.
Hope Pat’s Dimond necklace is still in van 😉
😂 🤣 👍
Ha ha, get off down there mate.
You are healing everyday❤ Hope youre FULL RECOVERY happens soon❤ Rest And love life, wherever you are planted... God bless❤
Thank you Dinah. I like that, " wherever you are planted". ❤️
Pat and I are so thankful that we were not more hurt or even killed, and just taking each day a step at a time. We have a lovely daughter who is able to deal with the practicalities that we are having to deal with.
Thank you for your support, you are very kind.
After listening to your story and simply in the wrong place and in no way at fault. just super pleased to hear you are both recovering and can have a chuckle but saddened to hear this may bring an end to your Van life journey. Equally pleased to hear your lovely daughter is very helpful and on the ball, Wishing you both the very best outcome and a speedy recovery. It is early days. Give yourselves some time to fully recover, you are both very resilient having survived the whole experience.
It may not be the end of our vanlife, it is too early to say, but thank you very much for your comment, and keep your eye out on our vlogs to see what happens in the weeks and months ahead❤
I think ot is doing you both good to talk to us all about your accident.
Sorry Jan I don't understand.
@@trevorpat-lifeontherun I think it is good you can talk to everyone on here about what happened,
It's good to talk about it xxxx
Your right Jan, it's a lovely community on our channel, and I have always enjoyed chatting to them. I am getting a bit overwhelmed at the moment because our accident has caused a lot of interest and the channel has grown rapidly. But I keep taking a break.
