You can't understate just what a shock it was when United won the title in 2006-07.
Chelsea had just strolled to the title for the second season in a row and after buying the world-class Shevchenko, Ballack and Ashley Cole, they were expected to win the title even more easily and finish with at least 100 points!
United had been in the worst state they'd ever been in during the Premier League era at the end of the year 2005 and although they picked up and finished the previous season well, any thoughts of them winning the title seemed very fanciful.

@@andypandy4607 It turned out that way but when Chelsea first signed him, people thought he'd go on to be the best player in England and would score about 40 goals a season!
