I agree, it's also the best I have ever seen even when they were still being produced by the factory. The problem is it is far to nice to use and a definite for the show circuit. I can see it commanding a lot of attention and fetching a phenomenal price.
I purchased one when it was seven years old, lovely car, long gone now, but not forgotten..... Ford to my mind have never made in Britain anything more iconic.
I owned a 1600E back when i was about 20 yrs old it was a bit of a banger with fibre glass wings . But i loved it it was all i could afford then.as money was tight...but this gold one really looks good. I will bet it aint gonna be cheap
When I was growing up in East London, the managing director of a nearby mechanical engineering firm had a Ford Cortina 1600E. It was a “J” registration (1971 maybe?) and it was in “Aquatic Jade” with a black interior. The dealer sticker in the rear window was “Gates Of Woodford” (Essex). The company’s odd job man used to wash the car every Friday. It always looked so good. I have always liked the Ford Cortina Mk.II and this example has had a lot of time, money and love spent on it. It’s an exceptional vehicle. I hope the seller gets good return on his investment.
I had two FLB 3J and a local car to me supplied by fry’s of Lewisham ultra rare colour and interior it was light green with aqua interior and factory heated rear window still remember them.
Beautiful car 25 grand. I recently see one in the same condition it was up for 24. Grand Metallic aqua jade. Probably the best in the country. Both on par though.

Lovely 😍 cortina this is a credit to the person who carried out the work 👏 😊❤

I had a white one in mid 70s and a friend had the lovely Ford Green one in a condition about the same but that was in early 70s, Gorgeous cars!
Absolutely stunning, what a car.
Lovely looking Cortina 1600E, always wanted one back in the 1970's, maybe now's my chance, better get bidding!!
I will hazard at guess that this will easily fetch £20k+ probably the best 1600E currently available today 👍
Whoever sorted this car out , you've done an absolute superb job on it ,respect hope it makes a fortune for you
Always wanted one but couldn't afford to buy. I will be in the same position now. Fantastic example.
That also one of the best I have seen. Cheers for that . One wow job.
Spectacular condition 🤤
After a lot of persuasion from me my dad bought exactly the same car new in 1970. I absolutely loved it. Must say very tempted with this one.
Wow, what an exceptional, properly good example - literally like new ! 💫
What a beauty, I had one of the last ones ever made DYO 188J always regretted selling it

Best Ford model ✌🏼
I had a blue one in the 70s, reg LAK 7G. Lovely car.
A top top 1600e, I would be interested to know what club members thought of this car on sale.
A stunner
That,s a wow car
My dream car, right colour too
I wish I had known about that…!
That would have been my dream car.
Any one got another one ?
Why can't ford produce a retro of these fantastic cars covering the full cortina range.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 proper clean 🙏✌️

I remember Frys of Lewisham. Did they not get caught clocking cars on a large scale back in the day??
I believe so I used to go to college with some of the mechanics
They did come out of Dagenham that good

My dad had a brand new one , he wanted a 3.0 Capri my mum pregnant could get in , so had to have the Cortina.
It would be criminal to take that out on the road. Would make a lovely display piece if your home was large enough :-)
Ford have made flashier, faster, more gadget filled cars but they’ve never topped this one, the 1600e.
Well if that doesn't fetch mega money it will be a travesty. thinking it will go for than my budget, sadly.
No underseal on floor it's concourse how much is this worth I'd value it at 38k
Was this the one on the Grand Tour?
Great comments allowed again
only thing wrong was steering wheel but a absolute banger
the english ford escort mk 2
It's a cortina not escort
Would this be better than Concourse?
No concourse is the best
What sort of money will this go for?
Pity the cars ford make no are crap.
Beautiful wish i could own it
