The whole freakin band RJD, Vivian Campbell, Vinnie Appice and Jimmy Bain were awesome live ! That first tour Vivian Campbell was 21/22 and already a beast
FYI: it was Ronnie's grandma that "came up" with the "\m/" horns, and she called it the maloik! to keep evil spirits aways from the ones she loved, that is how the story begins.

ty man dio is the absolute G O A T ronnie was in all those bands and actually brought out the musicality of sabbath, listen to heaven n hell the video of the angels smoking, tony iommi's rifts sound like a river flowing thru rock n roll heaven where lord ronnie resides, dio wrote almost all his tunes for every band, and played the trumpet in his youth, ozzy never wrote a lyric for sabbath or ever played an instrument, and had a bland mundane voice until he changed it for his solo stuff, but ozzy sabbath was iconic as well no doubt
One of my all-time-favorite concerts, Dio opening with Motorhead for Iron Maiden... RJD could still bring it into his 60s as a performer and front man, just an amazing legacy of music he left us with to remember him.

Great song from a truly great rock vocalist who was very instrumental in the Hard Rock and early Metal world. It is true that Iron Maiden preceded the group Dio but Ronnie James Dio was fronting the band Elf in 1967 and truth be known he goes back to the late '50s as a singer in several groups starting with the Vegas Kings. He is also famously credited with using the Devil Horn hand sign used in the metal world today (he said his Grandmother used it to ward off the Evil Eye).

"Stargazer", "Long Live Rock & Roll", "Kill the King', "Light in the Black", "The Shed", "Catch the Rainbow", "16th Century Greensleeves", "Temple of the King" and "Mistreated" (live) are some of the great Rainbow songs. "Sign of the Southern Cross", "Heaven & Hell", "Lonely is the Word", "Voodoo", "Children of the Sea", and "I" are great Black Sabbath Songs. Dio is a huge rabbit hole that you can get lost in.

There is a family band you should look into . Liliac , they have fantastic original music and have done covers of Holy Diver , The Trooper , Enter Sandman and more ! They will blow your mind !
