Considering Itagaki got booted from Team Ninja, got slapped with a few sexual harassment lawsuits (which *seriously* paints his work with the Dead or Alive series in a nasty color), and his attempt at action with Devil's Third utterly failed on every level, it's pretty easy to see that Kamiya won out.

I guess as a little update on the three-way rivalry: TotalBiscuit passed away last year due to cancer, Notch’s name was removed from the very game he created (Minecraft), and the Yogscast have died down drastically in popularity, possibly relating to the video game they pitched, had donated for, then scrapped

I too would not be comfortable with the swearing. However, I don't know why Notch didn't privately ask the Yogscast members to cease the foul language during the convention. It was passive-aggressive of Notch to publicly make the remark on Twitter after the con.
+Drake The only reason it is bad to teach kids that swearing is okay is literally because other people have deemed it not okay; there is no rational reason to say darn instead of damn, the intention is the same.
You don't swear in front of children, unless their parents have raised them to think that it's okay.
It's all a matter of forcing your moral views on other people.
You wouldn't start an orgy at a business meeting. You wouldn't swear at a convention largely for children either.
As for how Notch should have handle that- yeah, I get it. If he had come out and interrupted them, told them to leave, there would have been a whole lot more outrage than his passive-aggressive Twitter conversation. He would have had idiots up in arms about free speech. He would have had people much more publicly disapproving of his actions. He took a passive route to dealing with them rather than worsening the situation or escalating drama.

It's always kind of fascinated me how no matter what, no one can make a live action anime style character look normal. The hair **always** ends up looking like the cheapest dollar store wig. Regardless, I'll have to check it out. Wild guess, but I assume it's not in English.

I knew straight away, when I saw Jim Sterling in the thumbnail, it'd be his experience with Digital Homicide. I don't think there could have been any more satisfying end to that saga, short of Jim personally body slamming one of them in one of his wrestling videos.
I'm not sure I'd call the Digital Homicide stuff completely pointless, as it did end with Valve removing their shovelware-esque games and seeming to rework their indy game submission process to try and prevent future developers from trying the same tacit of releasing quick and dirty games, or just pallet swapping the same game over and over again, for a quick buck. So it seems like something positive came from it.
Except Steam Direct is a trainwreck and there is still shovelware.

I have this weird habit where every time I see a new Fact Hunt, I wonder loudly "How is the cartoon Larry drawing going to Ease and Whizz on the position on the frame to make room for the title on Fact Hunt?" Every video is a slightly different animation, and I find them oddly calming.

Turns out Itagaki also had little bickers and spats with Katsuhiro Harada of Tekken fame as well, since DOA and Tekken often get compared. Itagaki claimed his top 5 least favorite games were every Tekken game released up to that time (tekken 5)and that he in his own words made the 'greatest fighting game of all time' in Dead Or Alive

I was a youngin back during the Notch vs Yogs madness. I adored the yogscast and was utterly flabbergasted when I heard the crazy events a bit after the fact. As for the later TB vs Simon war I only learned about that like a year or two later and it made me sad. TB was indeed who introduced me to the Yogscast(and Jesse Cox). It’s especially sad now with TB’s untimely passing. I really hope they had some form of reconciliation before it was too late, life is too short to hold such petty grudges against friends. Either way I truly hope the cynical Brit rests in peace and will always miss his commentary aswel as be grateful for all of the great things and creators his videos introduced me to(Warhammer 40K for example).

Speaking on Rockstar. There's a moment in Max Payne 2 (they published the game) where in the police station a lady tells a police officer that she's scared of her boyfriend because he plays nothing but violent games and even says "holding a controller is like holding a gun they say" and after the convo ends the officer scoffs and is in disbelief by what she's hearing when she responds with "can you believe that? Apparently guns don't kill people, Video games do" which obviously is a shot at the media for them blaming Games like GTA for encouraging criminal activity.

Larry, if you ever talk about rise and fall of TH-camrs, you could talk about the Escapist: Don't know the details, but they used to have a diverse library of content creators on their wing, with Yahtzee Croshaw at the front, but a particular thread on their forums caused mass banning and a lot of the creators had a fallout, leaving only Zero Punctuation and its spin-offs to populate their channel, even worse the site keeps getting attacked by hackers.
If you have any info, can you PM me please, I was looking to do a second episode and The Escapist would make a great addition! Never been too fond of them, they've been riding the coat tails of Yahtzee to remain relevant for years.

I wish I could, but I can't. All I know is that there was a Gamergate forum thread that kicked everything into motion. Since some of their former creators are a bit controversial whenever they got political, it's basically a game of connecting the dots.

The sad thing is...TotalBiscuit is the only one who didn't really die out. Notch sold Minecraft, the Yogscast got progressively worse and worse at their games for the audience, and TB...is still TB. Still snarky, still harsh on options menus.

Ahh the "Digital Suicide" saga. Was I the only one watching that idiocy unfold whilst eating popcorn? I don't even watch Jim Sterling very often if at all. But much like a horrific train wreck I just couldn't look away.

The composer for a game called Starr Mazer DSP that is using TH-cam's DMCA system to attempt to rally the people of TH-cam against the creators of Starr Mazer because of a contract dispute. Yes, you read that correctly. She actually thought that would work
Dude don't turn this into a transgender debate. It has zero to do with the issue. Alex is a unstable person but that's a mental health issue not a issue of her gender.
One of her complaints was that someone used an old picture in an interview from when she was a he, so it is relevant.
The person at the end of the video (13:20) obscured by the gentlemen making the Hush/one finger expression. She is the composer of Starr Mazer DSP who, until ordered by a court not to, issued false DMCAs against those who showed the game or it sounds in videos regarding Star Mazer. Shes also gone after those who show River City Random for similar reasons.
I bring up the picture specifically because she's transitioning, and is rather sensitive to those showing her pretransition anything. To the point of DMCAing an audio interview for showing that same exact image in the video. She's also hit a former coworker and friend due to a video showing her pretransition.
While I can sympathize with her struggles of transitioning. Her behavior is not okay in any realm in the land, and is not becoming of a reasonable human being. Nontheless, her behavior does raise the concern of if she would target this video as well.
