It's impossible for Tsu to not shine when she gets a nice feature in an episode. As cool as her physical abilities are, where she truly excels is in her demeanor and sharp eye. She's immensely observant and thoughtful, and she uses these traits to her greatest advantage, and it's always impressive to see it play out.
A small detail that I love with Shinso is that whenever he's talking about his 'inadequacies' compared to the hero course students, he fidgets with either his persona chords or his capture scarf. It's a nice subtle touch to show his insecurity and anxiety.
Fun fact: Ibara's whole personality is based on her being a devout Christian, so her hero costume and super moves are based on Christian terms and aesthetics such as "Via Dolorosa" (the long wide vine trap seen in this episode) being a reference to the path Jesus took on the day of his crucifixion. In fact, her original hero name was going to be "Maria" (the latin and Spanish name for Mary who was the mother of Jesus) but was changed to vine.
As a devout Christian myself, I approve!!!🙏 Fun character, and I’m glad she wasn’t just a one-off from the Sports Festival! I’m also very fond of ChewbaccaBeast! One of my Favorite X-Men AND One of my Favorite StarWars Characters doing a FusionHa?!! 🤯 SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!
The manga actually show Shinso and Aizawa training throughout the arcs but he background and Shinso slowly gets more and more muscular too but the anime cut all of that out except like 1 or 2 instances lol
Kaminari's quirk is very powerful. Class B was actually priotizing him because of the threat his quirk poses. the problem is that he has a huge drawback. But if he trains that drawback, he could be ridiculously strong.
I mean it's true we see a dichotomy of how the two class sections are taught, but I would add on that UA Curriculum is very high quality. As All Might pointed out, following the curriculum has enabled them to increase the levels at which their quirks can perform, even moreso than Class A. I guess it's all about your frame of reference for the "by the books" teaching of Class B, if you compare UA curriculum to a regular classroom curriculum that we're familiar with. Although it wasn't shown, Class B went through internships and work studies too, so they got practical experience. They were only missing the "dealing with a crisis" part, but that was quickly turned around by the Forest Training Arc.
As someone who did not grow up with the Korean language despite being of Korean descent, I can say for sure that the best teacher for a language is THE LANGUAGE. If you're just not exposed to a subject, you just won't learn it. Having to learn how to curse at my family is the only motivation I really needed.
I have to say, you're probably the only other Korean I know who didn't learn the language growing up (I kind of learned it to the extent I could understand most but not speak it) I always felt awkward when other koreans around me found out I was korean and tried to speak to me
I have a friedn who moved away from Poland when she was like 5 or 6 and her English is perefect but she says her Polish is not that great because she only really speaks it around her family. Most of the people she interacts with are English so she is now better at English than her first language.
I'll also add this: It's kind of funny how the longer you watch this show the easier it is to understand how Bakugo feels towards certain moments just by l seeing his facial expression.
Fighting Shinsou is like playing a Moba but everytime you unmute your mic, the enemy controls your character for an amount of time. It fucking destroys any form of on your feet planning and communication xD.
Shinso's Quirk is dangerous because it puts both active and passive pressure on his opponents. In the active sense, you have to be very careful in responding to anything you hear. Passively, he disrupts communication immensely, as seen in the end, when Apocabeast refused to speak aloud or answer anyone, for fear of getting brainwashed. Ironically, despite Shinso's desire to work alone and prove himself, I feel that he would do the best as a part of a group, where it's harder to tell who is speaking.
Fact: the beast guy's hero name is "Gevaudan". In 18th century France, there was a mysterious animal in the Gevaudan province that killed women, girls, and boys. No one knew what the creature is so they name it "Beast of Gevaudan". Eventually hundreds of hunters gathered to hunt down the beast when it killed too many people in Gevaudan. People who saw the beast says it either resembled a huge wolf, lion, hyena, hybrid dog, size of a cow or walked on hind legs. The beast of Gevaudan is still debated by some historians today as to what animal it was. I am proud to have paid attention in high school history class because that was one of my favorite stories so I understood the reference made by the mha author.
I've seen some people feel that it would have been really cool if this was a moment for Kota. Theoretically his ability to control animals with his voice might work or at least have a debilitating effect if people with animal quirks. Especially someone like the beast guy here that sinks really deeply into his animal side. It would be a great moment for him and a great buff to his power since animal quirks are so common.
Since being a hero is a job in this world it's also about managing relationships with the other related departments like police, ambulance, fire and the government and other hero agencies and protocols so they do need the school experience since they've only fought villains.
Ngl. I'd love to see the ending having Class B just absolutely dominate Class A once they become proper heroes because unlike Class A, they get more time to learn the curriculum and generally perform better as heroes. Hero work is more than just head to head fighting, after all.
This arc had a lot of people a mad because they felt it was kinda filler which I get but personally I really enjoy it. It alows for characters like Kaminari to get the spotlight for a bit. Plus class B are a lot of fun imo
i really like this season even tho a lot of ppl dislike it. it’s not amazing but it’s not horrible either n has some great moments so can’t wait to see the rest of your reactions to S5!
Hey no hate but just wanna say I don’t think that class 1-a has that much experience over class 1-b. We’ve just seen more of them. The only incident that class 1-a has been through as a group that class 1-b hasn’t been through is the USJ incident from season 1. Both a and b were present during the training camp raid, and kendo and tetsu tetsu from 1-b were significant in taking down one of the major threats at that camp. Other incidents like them fighting stain and saving eri were more for specific characters than the entire class as a whole. Hope that makes sense. Lol
Idk if you remember but it was highlighted in I think season 4, or was it season 1 during the first villian attack, that a villain with a hereditary quirk (like tsu and orca) was not affected by easerhead’s erasure quirk. Makes you think if hereditary quirks are the body quite literally trying to evolve and the “superheroes quirks” are the mutated ones which is why there’s the singularity point theory. Jus something that I came up in my head right now while watching this lol
Kaminari gets a lot of budget this episode, animation from this arc looks better than I remember tbh. Still a step down from previous seasons overall though.
the beast guy excels because of his tactical ability he reminds me of what deku would have been if he had a quirk and got to show to use all of his knowledge while studying the actual curriculum
The thing that I like about the A vs B Class Showdown is that it shows again that Bakugou is #1 in combat, Deku is strategic and great at improvising but Bakugou is still the superior battler. He can spot which team is going to win or lose much faster than everyone else in the hero course. It's why he would make such a good strike commander for a hero team and Deku is a good "face" leader for a hero team. One inspires your heart, the other makes sure you dont die like a moron. You also really misinterpreted that sigh from Bakugou, he's way more disappointed in his classmates for losing. In his mind losing 2 people on the team is still losing despite them winning the round. Full Victory or Nothing.
Ibara's whole gimmick is so strange to me. Lots of Christian references and lines, without much personality behind them. As a Christian myself, she rubs me the wrong way. Also! Didn't know you got in a relationship again. Hoping that everything goes smoothly with it!

The enemies can know Shinso's quirk, but it will also break their communication just because they will be overly cautious for him.

Almost forgot how well animated this arc is compared to the rest of the season. There are some truly beautiful parts later.

Mutations are what the animal based quirk users are usually labeled as. Like Invisible Girl and her invisible quirk...as well as her judgmental quirk.
