Re: the buck - happens to the best hunters. My grandad once hit a buck and tracked it for miles through the timber but could never find him. This is a man who once walked up on a bull elk still sleeping and shot him. He was an amazing hunter, but it didn’t help him find that buck. Just happens.
It looks like the home owner could just go over the leaves with a good riding or walk behind mower and mulch them. I use a walk behind mower on my lawn all the time thats about that size.

You could have put your drone up to track that deer.
Not sure about Ohio, but it's not legal in every state to track a deer using a drone.
Been there done that. looking for a deer all day long. Had a good blood trail then it was gone. Never found it after 2 days.
Imagine he walks up and shows you the bullet mark via trail cam.. trots off with a couple does 😂☠️
