10:31 somehow I haven't heard a single person mention this. It hardly even looks real (that's a good thing) and id this is all stop motion, it might be the smoothest animation I've seen from it.
It's not stop motion
@@iSyriux yes it is
It’s an entire movie of stop motion, a legendary movie.
I stepped back and had to take.a moment to myself when i read the title
THIS ENTIRE MOVIE IS STOP MOTION AND LOOKS LIKE THAT?!
I adore this movie!

yeah it was that old lol
It's so relatable when you're finding the pause trick for the first time
What cut?
Wait...101 likes?

When you think about it, all animation is stop motion
on point
With more frames
It isn't
Stop motion is made with real-life objects
Other types of animations are computer generated
But wait! All "real" photographed videos are kinda stop motion too
@@err_404_name_not_found9 traditional animation is not computer generated. that's what makes it so special.
@@thecapitalg I didn't mean that it's literally "computer generated", I just meant that it's made using computers
While in stop motion, each frame is a photo of real life objects

the first film was made in 1888, Idk why but I do the first film ever made a little creepy
4:22 I can see where Tim Burton got some of his artistic inspiration. 😁
I'll always consider Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as the greatest stop motion film ever. You can really tell Tim Burton, Wallace and Gromit, and James and the Giant Peach took the genre to a whole other level. I really wish it was a more popularized genre, but I'm sure its extremely difficult and possibly the most difficult kind of film to make.
Truth has been spoken !! And then there's Yuri Norshteyn's Tale of Tales and Hedgehog in the fog !!
I make stop motion videos and I can tell by experience that I it is difficult and realy stressfull but a good hobby
@@divakarkuppanwhats the music at 0:59?

I've always loved Stop Motion movies. It is a true type of art that unfortunately not many appreciate. I personally think it is the best art form of animation cinema.
My love for Stop Motion Movies, I owe it above all Thanks to Laika (with "Coraline") and Aardman (With "The Pirates"). Probably, my two favourite Stop Motion movies ever.
Stop motion is so sweet and cute as long as u stay away from quay brothers and svankmajer

Stop Motion will always have a special place in my heart

Is there a reason why there are, on average more stopmotion films being made in Europe than in the Americas? In addition to that, the European ones tend to be in much better quality. More funding on such arts? More lax policies on such films?
I'm actually curious.
may be the effect of their ethnography
Cuz they are more patient?

Lovely
I’ve always been a huge fan of stop-motion animation! When I was a kid in the ‘60s and ‘70s, I thought that was simply the way that monsters move! O’Brien, Harryhausen, Danforth, Peterson, Allen, Tippett, Chang and a host of others were (and still are) some of my most cherished inspirations. Too bad that Universal Studios weren’t able to make their 1976 KING KONG with Jim Danforth at the helm! One of my favourite stop-motion films remains obscure to this day: EQUINOX.
One of my favourites was the stop motion version of the Moomins (1977) that was released in Europe. I also appreciate the stop motion short "The Sandman" (1991) which was terrifyingly good. It also was nominated for an Oscar I believe.
Thank you so much for compiling this, this is a true act of public service, now I have so many things to go and watch that look incredible!
You got it right... I made these with lots of love and care.. enjoy
Some of these stop-motion films I never knew existed--but are worth seeing. I personally think it's the best entertainment. 😁🎥📽️
True
Anybody else forgot Box Trolls was a real movie? Almost like you blacked out while watching it the one time, and then it never came up again.
I just finished watching isle of dogs. The level of detail in that movie - damn.

Thanks. Brings back many memories. I can't imagine "The Peacock Princess" being made in China in 1963 after the Great Starvation 1959 to 1961. Another stop-motion is "The Devil's Ball- or The Mascot" of 1933.

some of the newer ones don't even look like stop motion anymore, it looks a little more like 3d animation
There was a stop motion film on showbox a couple years ago, very very good animation wish i could remember the name
The old stop motions were ahead of it time
totally true
I think my favorite is 2:35
Though sometimes I wish it made kong a less angry and aggressive all the time since it gave gorillas a bad rap
Yea, that's unparalleled... 4:03 is my favourite along with that
I was only about 8 year old, I began my stop motion animation career as an many project based in first being Thailand here
3:54 I'm hoping to get *Three Fantastic Journeys by Karel Zeman,* which includes this film. But it's kinda costly to get that set. I'll be patient to wait for a good deal on it. Meanwhile, there are many other sci-fi / fantasy / animated films I wanna see.
5:28 There's no title for this one. But I know that it's "Closed Mondays." Done by Will Vinton in 1974.
Trivia about the short: This short was included in the theatrical release of the compilation feature "Fantastic Animation Festival" (1977).
I remember Pingu. Didn't know it was THAT old, though.
6:10 The animation that started Koenigsegg
A very good compilation, but you forgot 2 movies!
Coraline (2007)

4:25 this is the area where Charlie Brown went ice skating on that christmas episode!
4:40 why that stop motion is not on youtube :(?

6:09 hmm, it feels empty without any Eurobeat soundtrack
Idk if this was a vhs but when i was 9, i saw this with my sis. It tramitized me. Something about the creepy imagry and the sand stop motion scared me. Im glad i actually found this old piece of my childhood!
Unless its not the right video but eh, this is as close as ill get to finding the real thing
Lovely
I get that it's a commercial for the film but I find it funny that Isle of Dogs, a 2018 film is being showed in a video released in 2017
Before Wladyslaw Starewicz there was actually *Alexander Shiryaev* who, being a balley master, made a series of puppet dancing fims in 1906-09, basically dancing video tutorials :) The animation is extremely smooth for the time and now he is credited as Russia's first stop motion animator and first animator in general.
Thanks anna for sharing valuable information on Alexander Shiryaev
I’m surprised that this left out The Nightmare before Christmas and Jason and the Argonauts
Okay but the automatic moving company one is so cool
stopmotion , the perfect way to make mysterious and unique movie
where's wallace and gromit: a grand day out and wallace and gromit: the wrong trousers?
edit: wait not just that, even wallace and gromit: the curse of the were-rabbit is not here
Why some classic stop motion animations like:pinchcliffe grand prix is hard to find full on youtube?
This is great
The 3D animation back then before CGI.
Theres so many movies in that style 👍🏼
I can't believe this left out 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'!
I have added vincent, corpse bride, james and giant peach ,kubo , frankenweenie to represent the works of all that laika ish, burton ish, and selickish stop motion content !! I believe i have added sufficient laika ish content here...It's a kind of content from all around the world ..otherwise it would have looked like the video is biased to laika alone..
that's the oly reason,,,moreover i like stuff like coraline, frankenweenie, nightmare before christmas as good as u do!! but it's a tough choice i made.
@@divakarkuppan Ok I get your reason for not adding TNBC. I was just shocked (not angry) it wasn't on there since that film in particular really helped stop-motion move to the next level. Both in technique and mainstream. You don't have to be so harsh as to say you love this stuff more than me. That's why I watched this.
