    Said it on Fitz’ video. KU is easily the best 2-6 team in the nation and it isn’t even close. Crucial mistakes doomed them in so many games.

      This year's KU is like the 2021 Nebraska team that finished 3-9 but scored more total points than they allowed for the season. All their losses have been close. As a K-State fan stuck in Cornhucksterland, I got to watch the Nubs fans go through the pain of that season, so I have an idea of how the Smurf Chickens' fans are feeling about now...

    While I would have preferred a more lopsided victory, I'll take the win any day of the year and twice against the Smurf Chickens. There are now kids who are legally old enough to drive who weren't born yet the last time KU won a game in this series. KU was much better than their record, and this was their Super Bowl. All that said, it's... Useless...Trivia...Time!!!
    - K-State's current 16 game winning streak is the longest by either team in series history. KU did have a 16-game unbeaten streak from 1907-1922, but that included 3 ties, including the last 2 games of the streak.
    - K-State now has a winning record against KU since 1918, and the series is tied since 1916, at a record of 52-52-5.
    - Despite the closeness in this year's victory, the Wildcats inched closer to taking the all-time lead in points scored in the series. State has scored an all-time total of 2144 points to the Jayhawks' 2208; a gap of just 64 points in a 122 games. This is equal to the greatest single-game margin of victory in series history: a 64-0 Wildcat victory in Lawrence in 2002.
    - KU's 27 points scored was a significant number for multiple reasons. First, it was the third year in a row that they scored exactly 27 points against K-State. Second, it gave them exactly 1919 points scored in the rivalry since the 1919 season.
    - The last time K-State scored exactly 29 points against KU was in a 29-12 Wildcat victory in Manhattan. The time before that was in a 38-29 home loss to the 1968 Jayhawks, who were ranked in the Top 10, won the Big 8 (KU's most recent conference title in football to date) and lost by 1 point to an undefeated Penn State team in the Orange Bowl.
    - The 2-point margin was the closest in the series since a 10-9 K-State win in 1993, the first game of K-State's 11-game winning streak in the rivalry from 1993-2003.

      You might be new to Kansas State football but we haven’t had a referee squad on our side since probably the mid 70s. So you might just want to deal with the fact that you’re gonna have to deal with crappy referees every single game of every single season, and just move on

    This team has got to stop making critical mistakes. This is not a CFP team, let alone a Big 12 championship contender, unless they clean some of this stuff up. Avery running out of bounds. Throwing the ball on 3rd down where he was almost sacked and almost threw a pick. That's just on the last drive. I am not going to expect this team to make it to the big time when this stuff is happening week in and week out.

  • @stevesims-d6c
    @stevesims-d6c 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    They should have watched the WV game at 1.25 speed to get an idea how fast KU hits the gaps and gets around the edge. Tackling was a problem again as was KU's sloppy yards after contact. They were efficient on 3rd down although we got more big plays. They had 2 TDs from outside the red zone.
    Our pass rush was good enough to disturb Daniels' pass game. Giving up the lead and not being able to score much in the second half was disappointing; only 2 fg in the last 28+ minutes, and one of those being kicked from our own territory. KU could have hurt us if they were better at running the hurry-up.
    Didn't you have a sense that the 2-pts off the safety was going to have a serious impact on the outcome? It seemed like it hung over KU's head the rest of the game. It changes how you project the effect of a fg vs. going for a td.

    Avery played above average, but not great. Passes consistently high and behind. Ran out of bounds late in game, to save KU a timeout. And last the fumble when we were driving.

      Au contraire! Beating the Smurf Chickens is ALWAYS a cause for celebration, especially knowing we won even though we "played like SH*!" as you so colorfully put it. KU is much better than their record implies and this game was their Super Bowl. There will be time enough to play Eeyore if/when doing so actually costs us games, like the BYU debacle...
