What gets to me the most in this fight is Frieza dramatically declaring to Goku that, no matter what happens he’s going to die in their fight. Goku’s only response being a grim “Probably” shows how resigned but determined he is. He knows he’s doomed but he’s still going to take Frieza down, for the good of everyone.
@@Jonkler01 Not end, but Goku was definitely supposed to stay dead and Gohan was supposed to be the hero moving forward. They tried again with Cell but fans weren't having it there either. Guess Toriyama was set on resigning Goku one way or the other but ultimately gave in due to his outstanding popularity
@@Jonkler01 I'm very sure that is a myth, Toriyama never stated that he was going to end it at frieza, it has some sense of finality but every plot point which was already laid out wouldn't come to fruition then like gohan's potential, vegeta's arc etc etc.

Why I brought this up is because music in a game is suppose to help you feel the situation and when this played in the Goku (Super Saiyan) vs Frieza battle it showed the flow of what kind of battle this is, a battle to the death.

Also, I would say that there was a clear sense of danger to the fight, as Goku's victory was never actually set in stone unless you already knew the outcome, and even if you did believe Goku would win, Namek was crumbling around them and was still going to explode in the end...
This theme actually reminds me very much of egg reverie zone and doomsday zone themes from sonic games, and similarly, those are themes for situations that will pretty much end up with both of the sides getting killed regardless of the outcome. It's basically the mood of "We both will die in here, so at least let me kill you in battle!"
Because it... is? The planet is going to blow up in a matter of minutes, killing Goku and leaving Frieza alive to terrorize the universe. If he either runs out of time or loses, everybody is doomed. Besides, the theme is triumphant, it's directly analogous to Goku's power advantage over Frieza, and how it was one that was hard earned.
So I Beat Dragon ball z Kakarot (With side missions and and 2 dlc's) and now I'm itching to restart my game and play the Frieza saga all over again when I hear any DBZK soundtracks because the game was just that good.
