I have an accidentally bred American bulldog and APBT mix and he is my best dog by far! He is a calm dog but can certainly handle business and is decently sized at 94lbs. The funny thing is that as a young dog I called him my special needs dog because I really thought he was slow but what I saw with him figuring out life and he is the most smart little cookie and can read other animals brilliantly and can communicate brilliantly with animals and humans. I have trained him as my service dog but I like that he dares me to challenge him because he's going to win no matter the job I give him and he makes me keep going when I dont want to (literally). And although he is laid back enough to be a service dog he also lets me know his opinions on situations and people and isn't afraid to put himself in the line of danger for our family. He makes me want to replicate this for others because he is truly a one of a kind dog who absolutely has changed how I view workable dogs and the specific desire to do something with life. But how do you find a female equally special is not as easy as I would think. I want to see equally great and I haven't quite seen that yet. I'm sure it's somewhere. I own his mother and she is a good dog but nothing so unique so Idk...I have other great dogs but he is overall a winner no matter what category you're putting him in and that is something I've never owned before and couldn't go back to being without it. Things that break other dogs don't break him but almost intrigues him! I don't know how to put him in words and I wish I knew what made him the way he is because it is simply something that is brilliant. He was just born awesome amd I even I can't mess him up!

Better family dog, Boerboel or American bulldog?
Both are great, it would really just depend on the traits you value more. Boerboels are huge and can be higher energy, AB (classic type) are a big dog and are pretty laid back as a rule. I'd say make sure you have room for a Boerboel and maybe not the dog for a first time dog owner, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend an AB to a first time dog owner in an apt.
That being said, if I could only have one dog in my home it would be a Boerboel ...lol

What's a pattern ale, and how and why is it the better dog.? Personally I don't typically hold on to the breed evaluations of others. One thing I know when it comes to dogs is nothing trumps. Experience.
@BoltCutter Kennels I think they mean patterdales lol which both of those dogs essentially do the same thing. Personal preference, I suppose.

💯 on the F1 but not sure I'd want go back to the apbt again that soon though as I'd like to produce males in the 125 range consistently, gamedog F1, American Sentinel f2 would likely serve my purpose better, without sacrificing anything.

@@boltcutterbulldogs7719 The Gamebred Apbt I very healthy,But also the guy said he would like to bring down the size of his Dog to 75-80 pounds,I am not sure one cross of Apbt could bring down the size that drastically,I am talking about a Gamebred , dog 35-50 pounds,But I agree as far going back with F2 but what other small to medium dogs would you think to bring down the size yat still have that big drive ,Unless your talking about one of the smaller terriers like padderdale,glen amal ,or something like that ,All the other breeds that I really know about with the drive they want are bigger dogs that really would not bring down the size ,Plus he still wants the stocky head ,?
I know of a lot of F1 Apbt x Borebole that are almost replacing the pure breed dogs at there Jobs

Yes he want a boreboek look big head about 80 pounds something that can Run all day in the heat of the woods ,That's what I mean ,I don't know if the F1 cross will bring it down that much ,Unless you get a very small high drive terrier ,I don't know what else would bring it down that much
