    Hoss like me, you should market a tool like mine for spacing them veggies from the tiny seeds that often need tended.
    I'm 72, and in ground gardening is my way to grow conconsering water better than any way I've seen .
    Back to my tool, it prevents me from crawling on the ground like a goffer, but faster than I could do in my younger years. It's great for any handicap needs .
    Actually, I've made mine knowing that age happens to all gardeners, and I'm keeping a garden until it's unsafe for me if I realize when it happens and it happens to everyone.
    We only pickle our beet but should try this salt system.
    Seed tape cost more than veggies
    Thanks

    Hoss, I'm loving this video! I just purchased four galvanized raised beds similar to yours, so I am looking forward to planting beets, shorter carrots, and lettuces in them. I am planning to use small sticks, leaves, and plant leaves from our property in the bottom six inches of the beds and good compost and Promix in the top 6 inches of the beds. Is there any reason NOT to use my raised beds immediately? After watching some other YT videos, I am concerned the sticks and leaves on the bottom might ty up nitrogen in the soil. Thanks! ❤

    I planted carrots in a raised bed on Oct 17. Three months ago. They germinated in 10 days or so. But they have only grown 3 or 4 inches high. I used your 5-4-3 complete organic fertilizer mixed into the medium and have side dressed them once (before the freeze) with the same fertilizer. Should I use your 20-20-20 on them?

      Need 10-12 inches of very fluffy soil. Water daily until germination. Fertilize weekly and they need 1 inch of water per week. Keep weeds pulled so that carrots are not competing with the weeds.

    If I buy one of the fermentation kits and try this recipe, do I need to shake the jar to "stir" up the salt mixture or is it okay to let the salt just settle to the bottom as in the jars here? Would like to try this for a healthy snack option and want to be sure I am getting the right idea on how to do it.

    • @gardeningwithhoss

    Question- yalls treated seeds are not heirloom are they? Getting ready to order peas and trying to decide between two, one is little marvel but they are treated. Never bought treated. Thanks!

    • @gardeningwithhoss
      @gardeningwithhoss  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If they state they are treated. They are treated with “Thiram”. Thiram is a very mild fungicide that prevents “damping off”. It protects the young seedling from fungal diseases in abnormally wet conditions. It is not systemic, so it doesn’t get inside the plants and it will not stick around in the surrounding soil.

    Thank you- im so happy to see a couple fermenting recipes! Ive heard from a few people now that fermented carrots are really delicious! Id love to have fresh carrots i grow myself, but not possible right now. I can get a bag of organic carrots from store at good price and I think I'll start with those! I dont have a carrot brush yet though- i think i need one. 😊 Fermenting seems less intimidating than canning to me. What are some other things easy to ferment? Are green beans safe and taste good? Or..this summer there'll be fresh okra available. Maybe that'll be good? Does each type of veggie take same amount of salt in jar?
