These days you can buy pre desigened sounds and templates and project files without any knowledge of music production and still get famous and play shows, i just like that four tet plays real music in that context.

Thats not what i think at all, everyone has different tastes in music because that's whatever they connect with, but imo its a dj's responsibility to play a diverse set of music to show people that there is more dope music out there than they currently are aware of. Which is what four tet does, Ki Kim makes a good point that most festival djs tend to play the same 10 songs wherever they go. Thats all im hating on is the pre package form of djing, nothing personal.
Lol, please. This is an exception. I've seen Four Tet several times and he's played some absolutely shocking tunes eg. Rhythm n Gash. Last year he was playing The Sun Can't Compare in nearly every single one of his festival sets, and he loves to rinse his remix of that Eric Prydz tune Opus. The point is, you are in fact being an elitist dickhead, because although I also think EDM is lazy rubbish, comparing a set for a radio that he KNEW would be recorded to a festival set is complete bollocks. Sure Kieran can pull it out of the bag when he wants to, but he's also been known to recycle whatever tune is flavour of the month on the Identification of Music Group or in the Resident Advisor comments section.
best dj set i've heard this year easily but I understand why one wouldn't like it, very unconventional and weird. for me weird is good but weird in dance music is even better.
