This is good news honestly, I guess there is a failsafe in every specie's DNA. Still fascinating to see asexual reproduction and trying to understand how it works on a genetic level.
The bird CLONE WARS are coming! :D Seriously though, this is an incredible observation! Never thought it was possible for a bird. Mamma bird just cloned herself! It's cute, and fascinating.
I once viewed a documented video where a tagged female kangaroo was followed for a couple of years. At first she mated and had three or more embryos in her uterus but only one developed enough to scramble to the pouch . Due to a very dry season that little joey died. Following that a second embryo scrambled to the pouch and developed in better circumstances. During a physical more embryos were found. Survival at its greatest so I am not surprised about the asectual labeling. .
I busted out laughing at the #45 Condor. So appropriate since they eat dead animals. 😂 Glad to see Condors are on their way back in population. Pretty cool giving having eggs not fertilized by males.
I thought I heard the narrator say that one of the two condors that had asexually reproduced had a male that lived only a few years. How, if there is no male contribution (Y chromo) could the bird have produced a male offspring? You'd think any and all offspring would be actual clones of the mother bird which I assume is a female.
But the 2 clmale chicks produced died in a couple years. So are there any viable asexual reproduction. The implication that successful reproduction occurred is not accurate.
Because the Jesus story is just a story. Stories are fiction, not reality. To take it seriously, first, we'd need sufficent evidence for the historical existence of Jesus, which at this moment was never found. Then, we'd need evidence the immaculate conception also did happen in real life, and is not just a story. And even then, all we would know is that a baby was born without a father, like this condor. It wouldn't tell us anything about divinity nor the existence of a god. Bacteria reproduce asexually all the time, and they're not divine (as far as I know lol). So, that's why. It's just a story written in a story book. Don't take it too seriously.
@@askani21 1) Are you saying that all stories are fake? Think about that. 2) There is evidence that Jesus existed as a person but His divinity is up for debate I’ve never seen a more pathetically sad comment than this one. Common sense was not used here.
@@askani21 There is evidence that supports a historical Jesus, just not one with super powers. So it depends on what people mean by “Jesus”. A person named Clark Kent likely existed. But you’re going to have to demonstrate that he is bullet proof and can fly. ;)
I love the doctors reactions to the news.
My wife said that's how she got pregnant.
I’ve got news for ya . . .

Might want to look into your wife's boyfriend
More interesting; have the condors always been able to asexually reproduce, or is this something recent that they have adapted to.
"Life will find a way."
And this time we didn't need to splice in frog DNA.
Love that movie
it's also weirdly fitting since birds are the descendants of dinosaurs

I just shows we know nothing about anything
Storm birds here we see in Hawaii rare but wingspan 20+ feet exists and now makes more sense how.

I don't know, something fishy here. That lady condor must have done some hootchy-kootchy moves with another bird behind the scene.

Fiction.
What good is such fiction?
Why, then, do people find it so hard in the Immaculate Conception of Jesus, the Christ?
