True. It's not about a percentage of blood but specific genes. Every generation removed from pure blooded risks those specific genes that express Super Saiyan powerups being present effectively halved in probability. I think they take the Invincible idea of gene domination, Saiyan genes have the potential to be the dominant gene while still reminding somewhat human it would clear up a few things
I think GT is actually more canon than Super in all senses. GT not only came 25 years prior to super and right after z, but it makes immensely more sense than super does. Super has so much nonsense, plot armor, fanfiction color forms and plot holes contrarily to GT that continues Z flawlessly. Even the fact that goku and vegeta jr forgot what a sayian even is, they dont even know, makes absolutely sense. Super is good because of the godly aspect, the new lore and the new villains, but sayian-wise is just a circus show
"Canon" has a definition and Super strictly doesn't fit into it, so it cannot be seen as canon, no matter what anyone says. It's simply too different from the source, while GT could really be more acceptable in that matter. Long talk short, you're right.
@@lightborn9071 The way I actually see it is that dragonball is a multiverse with an almost infinite amount of alternate dimensions and so every official thing is canon. Canon in dragonball doesnt actually matter at all becausr if we go by the original canon, most things dont make sense and get constantly retconned away or changed. So anything dragonball is just dragonball to me. I like especially how heroes and videogames treat the question where they include both GT and Super stuff as well as whole new things they introduce.
I came up with a theory, in the Dragonball world Saiyans are an alien race with tails that look damn close to normal humans. However we've never had an explanation for humans in this world, so my running theory is that thousands of years before, a group of saiyans found earth and settles there, then over generations the blood changed into the modern humans. It would also explain the compatability between the races to produce children with such astronomical potential. Human DNA could simply be an off branch of saiyan DNA.
Well that is probably the case. It is like Homosapians and Neanderthals. Well I actually have Neanderthal DNA at a 4% which is higher than 60% of people yet I am majority Homosapian at a 96% in regards to the human family branch yet that does not take away the Neanderthal DNA meaning if Neanderthals were still around I could actually have a child with one so perhaps Saiyans and humans are the same species like Homosapians and Neanderthals but the Saiyans and humans split off from each other in the Dragon Ball World a long time ago yet they are still the same species but just different versions of each other.
@@sethfrisbie3957 I concur with this line of thinking, though we may never actually get any sort of Exposition for this in the manga. My Neanderthal DNA sits at roughly 2%, I also wonder if Bulma has ever tested for the idea.
@@Ceasar_Dragon well that is a good question yet I see it as very possible considering how she tinkers around with things a lot and may have worked on some projects involving biology. Perhaps she has but it was just off screen and or not written yet. The best we can come up with for now is that theory.
I dunno if it's still canon at all, but Humans in Dragon Ball Online are said to have minute traces of Saiyan blood, and are still able to transform with proper training. Taking place 216 years after the End of Z. Toriyama supervised the story, so it's not impossible.
Its more fair to think it backward. Goku, vegeta and the other pure saiyans didnt get to be super saiyans immediately but after a lot of struggle, while the newest generation of saiyans managed to do that in younger and younger stages of life
It’ll be cool if they make the “sayian bloodline” more into a concept instead of a blood quantum for example how vegetas talks about saiyan pride. Having saiyan pride is engrained in saiyans regardless of how little or far away they are from full blooded saiyans, they will always be able to access that saiyan power because it is your pride that guides you not how much saiyan blood you have.
I feel like Toriyama was taking Saiyans away from Blood Purity and into being an entirely new race as they became Hybrid Humans. Especially with Gohan's Transformation in the movie, there's a whole realm of power levels created by the Hybrid Race.
The component of a Saiyan being able to go SSJ is based on the amount of S-Cells you have. The production of S-Cells are increased if your heart is more pure so this is why Goten and Trunks are able to turn SSJ as kids like it was nothing. S-Cell production amount varies person to person and I would suggest that even though he is 1/16th Saiyan, he still have S-Cells and a pure heart leading to SSJ being achieved
Some theorize that Saiyan characteristics actually grow stronger the further hybridized the gene pool becomes. So basically eventually most of Earth could be Super Saiyans
During the timeframe that DBO was being considered canon, with Toriyama working on numerous character designs, and writing a few parts of the "history" and then major plot points being shown to him and asked about... we can go ??? into the future, have thay character train... and by the magic of merchandising, can give them spiky blond hair and blue/green eyes.
Even if a saiyan can only have at least 1/128 of his saiyan blood , they could also become a super saiyan too , don't forget that some saiyans in the universe 6 found a new way on how they can unlock their super saiyan transformations by using some of the yellowish thingy behind their backs.
Bro, at this point, the 1/4th or 1/16th don’t even matter when you’re deep in the genepool. If you got Saiyan Blood on ya, you’re capable of great things.
I always thought like, goku and vegeta had to work SUPER hard to be one. By the time they were doing it so much with no effort, their saiyan blood got used to it and became more and more stronger as they transform. So them having kids, their strong bloods are transfered as well. Like Gohan became a Saiyan at a young age, he already has Gokus strong blood. It gets passed on and it gets stronger and stronger as time goes on.
It’s been stated it’s not really about the “saiyan blood”, it’s about the number of “ s-cells” in a saiyan. A full blooded one obviously has more and even more if they can turn super saiyan outright. And that transfers over across generations which helps explain why trunks and often could turn so early
It would be pretty cool if Goku Jr ends up being a playable character in sparking zero. ( and aside from going Super Saiyan he fights absolutely nothing like any version of Goku so that way it further emphasizes to people not in the loop that this is really a different person and a whole other character. ) I would like to hear dialogue between him and Vegeta, GT Goku, and Bardock.
Panpan already did turn into a super saiyan, that too before she was even born During the super saiyan god ritual when she was still inside Videl's womb
We’ve seen that those with less sayain blood seem to be able to tap into sayain abilities such as ssj much earlier in life, with gohan doing it in his teens and goten being able to do it as a child, you could even argue taht gotenks being able to go ssj3 could back this argument up to
The introduction of S-Cells changed our understanding entirely. Especially considering the in the future as of Dragon Ball Online, most Earthlings/Saiyan descendants can transform as well... it’s not that hard to believe that Goku Jr would be able to, same as any other descendant. You can argue about the different continuities, but there is clearly no reason why any Saiyan descendant couldn’t have the potential to transform in any Dragon Ball continuity so far.
My guess is that Goku Jr. inherited the recessive Saiyan gene that most likely skipped generations before him. That's why despite being almost fully human he was able to go Super Saiyan and had a typical Saiyan hairstyle. His other extant relatives most likely aren't able to transform.
Goku Jr has so much sayian blood in him that he has the same face as goku so I guess it’s safe to say that he will most likely become as strong as goku for those strong genes
In dragon ball online your human character actually has saiyan blood, but its such a small amount that they actually needs to use the dragon balls to increase the amount of saiyan blood in them to turn super saiyan, so there is a limit.
I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that the more human the saiyan bloodline becomes the stronger they actually are. That’s why Gohan Goten trunks and pan are all so strong at such young ages compared to goku when he was little
Invincible made the claim that Viltrimite blood was so potent that Mark was basically full blood. Maybe Saiyan works the same way.

@@Terapagos3000 You are right with this. I was rather referring to the DBZ specific canon, and even there multiple timelines exist.
@@lightborn9071 yes
and the sad thing is, people will sit and argue gt has no chance of ever being canon because toriyama didn’t write it
I came up with a theory, in the Dragonball world Saiyans are an alien race with tails that look damn close to normal humans.
So your thoughts?
@@sethfrisbie3957 I concur with this line of thinking, though we may never actually get any sort of Exposition for this in the manga. My Neanderthal DNA sits at roughly 2%, I also wonder if Bulma has ever tested for the idea.
@@Ceasar_Dragon well that is a good question yet I see it as very possible considering how she tinkers around with things a lot and may have worked on some projects involving biology. Perhaps she has but it was just off screen and or not written yet.
The best we can come up with for now is that theory.
Goku Junior was Goku reincarnated
GT will always have a special place in my heart
At least 2 mL
Vegeta and goku junior call it going blonde it went from an ultimate form that none of the saiyans could achieve now its just going blonde
Goku, vegeta and the other pure saiyans didnt get to be super saiyans immediately but after a lot of struggle, while the newest generation of saiyans managed to do that in younger and younger stages of life
GT was confirmed canon 💀
Sources?
source: trust me bro
you better show me words by the owner of dragon ball to say dragon ball gt is canon for me to believe that
GT is a canon alternate timeline, so it is canon but not to our current db super timeline
@@epiclyepicguynot even source: trust me bro. dude is straight up lying
It's not about how much Saiyan blood you have, it's about Saiyan pride you have 🔥
I feel like Toriyama was taking Saiyans away from Blood Purity and into being an entirely new race as they became Hybrid Humans. Especially with Gohan's Transformation in the movie, there's a whole realm of power levels created by the Hybrid Race.
Saiyan dna could be like Viltrumites, their blood is so strong it overrides any race they mate with makes the child a practically full-blooded saiyan.
"Let's create a fan made story of DB series"
"I had an idea to create a good character!
"GOKU + JR"
GENIUS! VERY CREATIVE AND ORIGINAL 10/10
I wish we saw more of this, than what we got from super.
Thats actualy a really good point considering we never see pan turn ss
as long as you have humble heart, u can be saiyan
With universe 6 introduced they’ll start mixing again and continue the bloodline. They have an entire planet of full bloodlines
it's simple, vegeta jr. just wanted to remind goku jr. about the super saiyan bargin sale
We need a dragon ball anime with Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr as the main characters
Akira Toriyama said in an interview that anyone with Saiyan blood no matter how little can turn Super Saiyan.
Bro, at this point, the 1/4th or 1/16th don’t even matter when you’re deep in the genepool. If you got Saiyan Blood on ya, you’re capable of great things.
This song hits so hard
it's like he's a hybrid of a practically invincible hybrid
I always thought like, goku and vegeta had to work SUPER hard to be one. By the time they were doing it so much with no effort, their saiyan blood got used to it and became more and more stronger as they transform. So them having kids, their strong bloods are transfered as well. Like Gohan became a Saiyan at a young age, he already has Gokus strong blood. It gets passed on and it gets stronger and stronger as time goes on.
The saiyan blood prevails even after dozens of generations.
Stated by Vegeta, it doesn’t matter the bloodline when one has saiyan blood in their veins they are saiyans point blank period.
Wow originally it was supposed to be that hybrid were stronger, but Toriyama was under pressure to make sure that Goku stayed as the main antagonist
( and aside from going Super Saiyan he fights absolutely nothing like any version of Goku so that way it further emphasizes to people not in the loop that this is really a different person and a whole other character. )
I would like to hear dialogue between him and Vegeta, GT Goku, and Bardock.
I forgot exactly where I saw it, but I’m pretty sure as long as you have a drop of saiyan blood in you you can go super Saiyan. It’s very strong.
Panpan already did turn into a super saiyan, that too before she was even born
During the super saiyan god ritual when she was still inside Videl's womb
Human blood makes them more pure of heart
We’ve seen that those with less sayain blood seem to be able to tap into sayain abilities such as ssj much earlier in life, with gohan doing it in his teens and goten being able to do it as a child, you could even argue taht gotenks being able to go ssj3 could back this argument up to
When Super Saiyan was still a thing....😢
What is the song in the background. What leitmotif was that it sounds so nice
Still one of my favourite specials
Who gives a damn if GT was Canon or not, everyone back then loved it.
Depends who the father is if it’s someone from Vegeta family it would make him a lot more saiyajin
In dragon ball online your human character actually has saiyan blood, but its such a small amount that they actually needs to use the dragon balls to increase the amount of saiyan blood in them to turn super saiyan, so there is a limit.
GT has been mad canonical by Daily also RIP Akira Toriyama
I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that the more human the saiyan bloodline becomes the stronger they actually are. That’s why Gohan Goten trunks and pan are all so strong at such young ages compared to goku when he was little
I think Goku jr and Vegeta jr could be set up as the next gen characters of dragonball honestly one day in dragonball super
