🔎 HASHTAGS 🔎
#eurotrucksimulator2
3:11 its important to note though that you need all map dlc for most of those
when there's sales they cost about 10€ for all the dlc
@Nobody-f8i9x yeah, around 10€ *each* and there are currently 9 map DLCs so thats still like 90€ (
If i add up all the current prices (with the discounts that are currently active on steam) i end up at exactly 71.71€ which is less, but still a lot
(As off the 18th january 2025)
@ 90€?! i thought it was way cheaper mb
@ i mean it actually is 71,71€ so it is a lot cheaper so youre kinda right
American Truck Simulator (Same as ETS2) is one of the five games I’ve been playing constantly over the last six years. The others are 7 Days to Die, Elite Dangerous, No Man’s Sky, and in the past year, the fifth is Last Epoch.
*Why EURO TRUCK SIMULATOR 2 Stands the Test of Time*
Why does *Euro Truck Simulator 2* (ETS2) continue to thrive, and why will it likely never fade away? Because this game represents the essence of what gaming is truly about. It's a complete, timeless experience that stands apart from many modern titles.
In the past, gaming was simple: you’d buy a game, own it forever, and play it whenever and however you wanted. Games were finite and fulfilling. Today, that model feels lost. Many modern games are designed to be never-ending grinds, encouraging players to sink years into content they might never complete. Worse, they often include relentless monetization schemes-microtransactions, battle passes, pay-to-win mechanics, and more-that make gaming feel more like a second job than a source of fun.
Back then, games were the goal, and money was the means to enjoy them. Now, games have become the means for companies to extract money from players. Slowly, this approach has become normalized, with people spending more on virtual items they don’t even truly own.
This is where *Euro Truck Simulator 2* shines. It’s a game that offers a complete, self-contained experience. You buy it once, and you’re free to enjoy endless hours of relaxing, rewarding gameplay. It doesn’t pressure you with:
- Season Passes
- Daily Logins
- Battle Passes
- Pay-to-Win Mechanics
- Loot Boxes
- Gacha Systems
- Artificial Difficulty
- Content Vaulting
- Membership Plans, and countless other tactics.
Sure, ETS2 has DLCs, but these are reasonable-new maps to expand the world for those who want them. Considering the game has been running strong for over a decade, this is understandable. The base game, however, is 100% complete, fully playable, and doesn’t require additional purchases to be enjoyable.
Unlike many modern games, ETS2 isn’t released in a broken state or gutted to sell pieces back to you later as DLC. It’s not a live-service title that collapses when its player base diminishes. It doesn’t demand you reorganize your life around it, or turn gaming into a chore. It’s simply a game-a beautifully crafted game-made for the sheer joy of gaming.
*Euro Truck Simulator 2* is a rare gem in today’s industry: a title designed to be enjoyed at your pace, on your terms, with no strings attached. It’s proof that games can still just *be games.* And that’s why ETS2 remains perfect.
Very much agreed, I can't stop playing it. Also, heard new trucks r being added sometime this year.
I’ve been playing the game since 2013 and I’ve never stopped loving it. The game motivated me to become a truck driver IRL. I’ve been cruising down Europe in real life for the past 2 years. I actually followed my dream.
And as you said in the video the game has a huge modding community. Since 2020 I became part of the RPM 1:1 scale map mod team. As a hobby I occasionally mapped for the project in the last couple of years. Now the 10th of january 2025 we are releasing the next big update of the map, with my newly 1:1 scale created area. I’m really happy that I chose to stick with the game, it really got the best out of me. ❤❤
all i can say here is it's completely worth it.
SCS is the only company where buying DLC's doesn't seem as a cash grab. I am happy to give them my money, considering the love they put into the game and into each DLC to make it feel special. Also, they are always upgrading the standard map, for free!
Nice vid. Based on your other ets2 vids I bought this in the steam sale.
The way i look at it when i buy a dlc is of course first of all, i get alot more content and roads to drive on, but also that i support the developers and help the team so they can push out more content in the future, this game is just so amazing and i have big respect for all the work the team put in for all the community.
Great video! I’m thinking about getting this game. ALSO! Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator is on sale on Steam for 75% off until January 20th Two base games for $4.99 each isn’t a bad deal in my opinion and if you want to buy ALL the location DLCs for both games you are looking at about $120 until January 20th.
The hidden and not so hidden costs a player should be aware of derive from map mods and realism. Map mods normally ask for all map DLCs or at last not the last fresh one, so that the users have some extra time between game updates to obtain the required content. We all need the maps for most map mods, if not all of them today. Then you need to acquire the cargo packs, trailers and tuning pack. ... Realism... how do you translate this into a Simulator? This is where your largest expense is hidden - a proper steering wheel setup. Let's say you buy a kids toy like the Logitech G29/923, you will realize that something is wrong with it real soon, especially if IRL you drive a car. At this point in time you will be lookin' for that extra deep feel the cogs do not provide. This is the very moment ETS2/ATS become a semi expensive, but ultimately, enjoyable HOBBY.
See how big this game is even after all these years:
ETS2 had a new map DLC and this resulted in 3 of their game or DLCs being in the top 10 of Steam sales this week
ETS2 is not a game, but therapy. An exceptionally high quality product + the company is not a cash grab. Money that I would easily give for a game and a company like this.
How can he know that?? It was posted in 2024
Wait for a sale and load up on the dlc, yes 100% worth it!!!
i have 6,600 hrs of ETS2 and all dlcs. SCS is the only dev that i willingly spend my money on 😂
been playing since 18wheels of steel era.
Now you need to do a new video on his American truck simulator worth it in 2025? Gotta make sure you changed it to 2025 in a month.
Yes , if you never play it before. But , if you want something more , like season change from official , no , they will never do it.
Please review Path Of Exile 2 !!!!
Just bought it 😊 Need some time for that 😊
I really wish it was out on consoles
The devs do want to get it on consoles but needs a lot off background work
i say. ets.2 is worth more than ever these days.
