    Great video. Where do we use involutes?
    Are involutes special shapes? thanks

      You can see involutes naturally occurring in nature in some shells. In engineering it is used in certain types of gear design. It can also appear in some gas compressors. It’s also used by mathematicians and artists.

      It is the ideal shape of gear teeth to allow maximum contact time and create a perfectly linear constant force as the gear turns and the teeth transfer force to each other thanks to the shape of the involute. Each gear diameter has its own corresponding involute

    The involute should be normal to the circle at the origin. And at the end, and every point in between, I guess.
