I dare you it would make a great ‘well we did it video’ but I can assure a worse 90 degree bend would I think defeat all apart from maybe a smart car

Another totally entertaining video..........one piece of advice, when parking up, have the front of Harry face the exit........just for personal safety.

Thanks for watching but above all commenting- good advice and we are trying to break habits and that is one of them where I simply don’t think about it and we need to

@@getawaygeese Having been involved in security, being a doorman supervisor for 13 yrs, overall for 25 odd years and had my own company. it is something that is always to the fore with me. Always assess your area for the night. Face the exit. Personally I would fit a discreet, High powered light front, back and on each side of Harry.......Lights coming on are a great deterrent while leaving inside lights off. Stay safe and looking forward to many more brilliant adventures.

A fantastic capture of our great island, thank you. I was never in the vistor centre, as it was over 30 years since i visited the Blaskets,a windy day too, in a curragh, under a tarpel. One can see a island Charlie Haughey bought, from it too. There was another film made too down that way with Tom Cruise in it, was being filmed while we were there, cant remember the name. Those winds were unreal ye walked in, lucky ye had the look out to hide in. Glad ye enjoyed the day, windswept and all.

@getawaygeese no sorry, a blast from the past, I still see my Irish teacher and we laugh at how I even spoke French in the spoken exam. It's got me thinking to read Peig Sayers in English now. Yes Far Away. I had one of my first cameras and took photos of the set , we were on our motorbike at the time.

The first 20 mins of Tom Cruise film "Far & Away" 1992 , was filmed around the same area of "Ryan's Daughter" 1970.
The "Far & Away" village set sited at Glogher Head was made of fibreglass.

Never knew that so thanks for that it’s obviously a great location for films from the drama as well as I guess being quiet and easy to film - can’t believe the efforts on the Star Wars film to get that shot took weeks apparently- thanks for watching and above all commenting

    • @getawaygeese

Hi Jane and Stu, I can only imagine that the drivers who tried to go down the pier and got stuck were tourists. Rather than walk up the hill I could've just sat in the van watching the waves. Another great video guys.

For drying wash cloths. Can you not string up a line across the back/ side to side and pin very very well the cloths on it so while you are driving they dry? Not sure of the logistics .

Glad you enjoyed the Blasket Centre. Peig was despised by several generations of Irish school kids as her biography was on the school syllabus. It was heavily censored with all mentions of sex and anything controversial removed so you had entire chapters devoted to riveting stuff like milking the cow or lighting the fire, etc. A far better biography is The Islandman by Tomas O’Crohan. Great editing and narration as usual.
