Great video. I admire your patience. That chunk is very complex, good you are taking your time with it.
I get when you say you miss having a project then when you have projects it gets overwhelming

@@sircrunch80 Yes, pretty impossible to cut a piece as complex as that . A gap here and there wont be too bad

Just came across your channel, I had a 1970 E200 and I am wondering what the condition of the frame is especially around the steering box. Mine had rust issues in that area and the steering box actually broke away from the frame while driving. Nice video and good to see someone saving a very popular van of the 1970s custom van era.

Good question, That area looks great on this van. I was amazed at the night and day difference from one side to the other. How did you fix yours? Big piece of plate?

@@sircrunch80 A friend of ours had a shop he did use a plate and the steering box had to be replaced as well. It was then safe to drive again, but we went over the underside and it was clear it was time to let it go. A sad day as I had spent a lot of time doing the interior, but had many adventures and good memories.

Great project. I had an 89 with a straight 6 and custom interior. Installed a tiny sink, fridge, and gasoline heater with a small battery and converter. I’m going to duplicate that again when I find a good candidate. The only thing I hated was that double doors on the side. Could never get the rattling out for long.

Cool 😎 i havent figured out how i want to do the inside of this van but with fun automotive events like the power tour and swap meets far away from home it would be neat to have something to camp in!

This will be a great van, just keep chipping away at it! My '61 Econoline was a very practical cargo van.

Thank you for the encouragement. I like the 1st gen vans too. Seems there are more available parts for those too

@@sircrunch80 As long as you can find "chunks" you are good to go!
