    Great work Harry. I reckon the overnighter, either with someone or by yourself, and each of you put a dish together is great. That and some relaxed chat, great combo and it would be unique amongst the channels out there.

    Yeh man you hit the nail on the head dude. Take some celebrities out for night and cook them a meal with Q&A. Keep up the good work man if felt like our camp site.
    Cheers Kev.

      I agree with Kev. Invite interesting people out for a camp, interview & cook for them.
      You ask interesting, probing questions & the Instagtam questions you chose were good too. Thanks.

    As a Yank, it is good to see something that is not a Infomercial, no product placement nor sponsor Tee's. Loved it and give Fred a bone...a dog must do what a dog does! Keep it like this.

    The internet is becoming stereotyped so refreshing to see honest and down to earth content. I like the fact your setup has grown organically and is functional for your needs and not the latest and greatest. I totally agree with Graham's pet hate regarding the (commercial) focus on gear rather than the experience. Too much or unnecessary gear can become frustrating and lessen the experience so stories on less is more could be useful. Cooking segments are good motivation to move beyond burger and snags. Demonstrating simple and tasty meals anyone could cook is useful and entertaining. Some stories and/or tips about how you (or others) began your outdoor/touring experience would also be interesting and a possible source of motivation to others starting out.

    Love the format. So much more relaxed than many channels I've been watching. Overnighter with someone, cook a dish each, and Q&A... it's a great break from the highly polished shows we're used to :)

    I like this whole you cook a meal, they cook a meal thing you have going! It’s different to what everyone els is doing which is great! What your filming is what everyone goes out bush for. Beers, bush food and campfire conversations. You’ve hit the nail on the head, keep it up!

    I agree this was fun to watch and left me wanting more. Get these guys out around a fire, in the bush and have real conversations. Cook up a camp meal, because its your angle, then cracks some beers have a chat. The format is pretty much good to go. Set up a patreon to fund it.

    Great series. Loved the witty humour and uncensored banter. Whilst I appreciate the hard work and cinematography of Guys Like Ronny, RedDirt, explore4x4, etc. and love watching the stuff they put out; there's only so many slow motion drone shots of a 70 series or Ranger I can watch before it feels stale. This is the stuff I REALLY like to see and the kind of camping I love doing. Camp fire, couple of mates, good cooking and cold beer.

    Absolutely love the content mate. Its my new "grown up" mind surfing. I cant be out camping every weekend so this is my escape. The Aus-solo and fire to fork (we will roam) etc are brilliant. The product placement and "sponsored by" bollocks drive me nuts. I enjoy the odd un biased review but keep it real and dont be tempted by big names advertising through you. Love the cooking too, and the landcruiser. So jealous we dont have wild marron on the Feurieu Peninsular.Cheers mate, look forward to the next one.

  • @WesternAustraliaNowAndThen

    I really like the way this has been shot. There is such a temptation to overdo production. We take at least 6 cameras, 3 microphones, numerous tripoods and assorted extra gear plus a drone and it all takes up a huge amount of space. I have always wanted to reduce what we take away and having watched these videos, I think it is entirely possible to still produce great content without a ton of gear. Good stuff, I look forward to your next production whatever it happens to be. Variety is the spice of life so just do whatever feels right to do at the time.

    • @firetofork
      @firetofork  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Western Australia Now and Then that’s quite the setup. This was shot on a Sony A7 with one mic, no extra lights and a tripod. It’s pretty roughy but it did the job

    • @WesternAustraliaNowAndThen
      @WesternAustraliaNowAndThen 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@firetofork and that stuff is only what we take away. I have become a collector of camera gear I don't really need. Lost count of the camera bags and tripods I have picked up in op-shops :)

  • @franklinmichael671
    @franklinmichael671 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    20:35 both! trip videos can be more about doing interviews/fishing... and backyard cooking can be more in depth about the cooking it's self. Also the videos don't all need to be 20min long, some short 5min videos about a quick dish or showing some piece of gear and why you like it, not like a review but like how you would recommend a product you like to a friend.
    Also eating like this where you cook something, then eat it, then cook something else, then eat it... it's great because it really gives you time to know how hungry you are, it gets you full with less food essentially. Not to mention the waiting between dishes makes you eager to try them and they taste so much better haha.

    I like how there is some insight, journey or story behind the cooking ingredients you use. I think that could be what keeps your content fresh and give it a certain direction and identity. The camping and people you share experiences with in a unscripted situation also make its unique and unlike other 'cooking' content formats. But most importantly do what you want and enjoy.
