    Keep listening to a LOT of English. Of course, it's important to practice speaking if you can, too, but listening to lots and lots of English will help you speak much better too. Good luck! I know it's hard when you have no one to practice with.

    Dear Syl! Thanks a lot for your videos! They are great! But I've got a question about this one - "good and well". You were telling about meaning added to nouns and verbs and you said:" Adverbs change or add THE meaning…SOME meaning….meaning of the verb…" What's the right variant of these three ones? Have you made a mistake, saying THE meaning or SOME meaning? Is it possible to say A meaning? Please, answer my question as soon as possible!
    Your sincerely,
    Julia (Russia, Saint-Petersburg)

      Hi Julia. It's a bit of a long video. Can you tell me the time in it where I said that? Then I can check it and answer your question. Thanks.

      @juliarastvorova6501 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Syl! I've found that place - it's 5:29 min in your video. Will you answer me now about "the meaning…. some meaning…. a meaning" What is right, what did YOU mean by saying these?

    • @SlowEasyEnglish
      @SlowEasyEnglish  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Julia,
      Hmmm.... You might be thinking too much about this. I was just stumbling and trying to find the best way to express myself. I got stuck there for a moment before settling on what I thought was accurate. In the end, I was happy with "it adds meaning to the verb" because that was the best way to express what I wanted to say.
      You can ignore the other things I said while I was stammering for the right words. There wasn't any meaning to them, which is why I kept changing my sentence. ;-)

  • @macbobXD
    @macbobXD 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    good = adjective
    well = adverb
    right ? so we use adjectives before nouns and after a few verbs: to be, to feel, to taste ,to smell, to look ,to seem.

    hey sometimes we use "well and good' collectively. can u plz explain that?

    • @SlowEasyEnglish
      @SlowEasyEnglish  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      "All well and good" is an expression, usually followed by "but [something that isn't so good]".
      Mark: This year, our revenue grew by 22%.
      John: That's all well and good but expenses grew by 26%!

    • @SlowEasyEnglish
      @SlowEasyEnglish  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry about mistakes Geimmy. Everybody starts learning a language from zero. Everybody!
      Unfortunately, how to use those words is a very broad question.
      Can you give me more specific example sentences that you are having trouble with? If you give me an actual sentence and have a question about it, I think I can give you a much better answer. :)

    I feel well - my phisical conditions are OK?
    I feel good - my psychological сonditions are OK?

    • @SlowEasyEnglish
      @SlowEasyEnglish  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I explained in the video, most people say "I feel good". SOME people who think they know grammar might insist that "I feel well" is correct, but I don't agree. In normal conversation, I'd guess that "good" is more common. Physical or psychological doesn't matter here.

  • @jhonnydeabreu3392
    @jhonnydeabreu3392 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Teacher,it is better if you save a 15 minute video and say GOOD is used to describe a NOUN and WELL is used to describe a VERB ....Taking in account that there is just one exception..............FEEL WELL VS FEEL GOOD............look......................I FEEL WEEL ( TALKING ABOUT YOUR HEALTH ) I FEEL GOOD ( TALKING ABOUT YOUR MOOD...........That´s is dude!!!
