The forceful blackmail of "follow me or I destroy your families livelihood" was what i was getting at. My parents would absolutely understand and side with my decision to decline such an order that which I have no interest in partaking in. Would you willingly sacrifice your own self-respect, morals, and dignity to live as a slave basically, so your parents' job stays safe? I sure as hell would not, and even if they were forced to resign or fired, they could lawyer up for unjust and unreasonable termination and other things relating to the abuse of authority that would have happened.

This wasn't about him being Haruka's slave. Even though Koya mentioned "when she took over", she's not going to take over. Koya will. That's why his questionnaire took two hours to complete. Dad isn't just looking for someone to marry his daughter, he's looking for a son in law that will treat his daughter right, AND, be a strong enough person to take over the company when the time comes. Koya was smart enough to figure this out. He proved that as soon as he realized that the app was a matchmaking app. Anybody smart enough to figure that out that quick would also be smart enough to understand that Haruka was pretty vulnerable under that cold façade she put on. He will be the rock she clings to once her father is gone.
@michaellinnet6095 the problem is that he never wanted to be that rock though. He was forced to be it by the maid. The father didn't have much to do with the maids actions, although he did want his daughter to have a good partner.

Were this to happen in real life, Haruka, Haruka's dad, and Hinagiku would all be regretting their long lines of horrible life decisions if they met the wrong one, and also ticked off the wrong one.

Strangely enough, I really liked this. The questionnaire that everybody filled out was basically a dating app. A more advanced, very thorough model perhaps, but nothing that isn't basically available these days. I, just like other posters, was not happy about the maid using extortion to get Koya's cooperation. But, I understood the reason why. If you can't convince them to at least give it a try, then what comes next? A straight up arranged marriage! At least this way, they have a chance to decide for themselves whether they can make it work or not. But Koya was a strong, independent young man, and, the "Ice Queen" Haruka turned out to be really just a shy, insecure little girl who put up a front to protect herself. Sometimes we don't know what we want or need until we get our noses rubbed in it.😉

It was really sweet seeing Koya and Haruka slowly build up their relationship before becoming really close during the thunderstorm when Haruka showed vulnerability and Koya conforted her. But Hinagiku was so funny with how she didn't take any of Haruka's protests and shot back with truths. She really deserves a raise for helping the two get together like they did.
Wow. This was possibly one of the worst rich dad stories I ever read. The MC let’s himself get pushed around by a “maid” and won’t even try to stand up for himself. The rich dad doesn’t even bother to meet with his parents at the time of the initial marriage arrangement, with his own daughter and let’s the “maid” stand in. Wow
