In maharashtra we called this as olya naralachya karanjya (ओल्या नारळाच्या करंज्या ). By using the same recipe we make ukdiche modak (उकडीचे मोदक). The recipe is very delicious mam.
Right...i know about this ...since i live in mumbai ...its similar to modak...how nice ...different religion different culture so different way of cooking but with some similarity😀
Soak equal quantities (1 cup) of channa and moong dal for 3 hours. Coarse grind the dals. Add chopped green chillies (3), 20 curry leaves, quarter cup of chopped coriander leaves, half cup of grated coconut, 1 cup of chopped methi leaves or sabsige soppu, and salt to taste to the coarse dal mixture. Mix well. This can be used as filling for the patted rice paste. Steam the kadaboos covered with banana leaf or turmeric leaves for 20 minutes. Enjoy sweet and spicy kadaboos. Yummy.
