I think this may be an older video re-released so may not address effects from the pandemic. I have regained quite a bit during the past year due to the pandemic. I spent more than a year working from home, doing curbside pick up of groceries, and avoiding going anyplace! A year of Netflix binges in a recliner has seriously added pounds and depleted muscle. I had gastric bypass 10 years ago but now I feel like I am starting over and it is even more difficult.
Me too! I am not hungry or get real hungry from 10:00p.m. thru the night. Love the Arizona Watermelon tea. I know that the way I am drinking it is weight gain because I have not been drinking water as I should!
Thanks for mentioning deeper causes. There’s some literature on car accidents but not enough. I was in a car accident it didn’t result in a lot of downtime (maybe 1-2 weeks) but I gained 20 lbs in 3 months. It took a long time and A lot of change to my routine to lose what seemed like a short term weight spike - maybe 2 years to lose. I’m reading that accidents can affect your metabolism even when it doesn’t result in a permanent injury
Thank you for the information 🙏 could you give more information about psychiatrist meds and weight gain? Especially whether you think the elevated set point is reversible.
I am so sick of gaining weight. I am almost two years post of and have gained 23 lbs in the last two months despite doing everything right! I have followed my program. I am in Menopause, have lipedema and I am just beyond frustrated.
I'm just over three years out from bypass and I've gained 10 kilos!! I'm not happy. I am on lithium however I'm not blaming this. I eat too much junk & I can eat a fair bit of food. It's just like the band (maybe a little better in the way of not being able to eat as much) but if I eat I get full fast but then I wait and I can eat a lot more... I'm still not really hungry but still love to eat!!!! I don't believe I eat a lot but I eat the wrong foods and not regularly. I am gaining weight very quickly.....
I absolutely love your TH-cam Presentations! Thank you!

I have found that not drinking enough water and not consuming enough protein are some factors.

Dr. Tracey Marks has an informative video about antidepressant medication-related weight gain. She is here on TH-cam. She is an American psychiatrist.
