Hey ya! I am taking a bit of a break from filming but also taking the opportunity to clean out my old footage and publish some reviews that I didn't get around to editing. So here is a candle empties filmed in Feb that I totally forgot about! 😅
Hope you’re enjoying the break. I definitely needed a video so happy for some oldish footage 😆 I am really picky about candles. I usually defuse essential oil instead, But I got a lovely candle from anthropology last month. A guava sent that smells tropical and yummy. Haven’t burned it though
Hooray, a bonus unexpected video! (I've been re-watching your project apocalips and the palette ones to keep me going!) I love the fact that you keep candles in your downstairs bathroom & take the lid off when you have visitors - that's hilarious 😂😂😂. Hope you're enjoying your break😊
I don’t wear makeup, but I burn lots of candles. I usually burn 3-5 at a time to create a complex layered scent. I think you got me addicted to glasshouse a few years ago. I wait until they go on sale or I have a gift card before buying them.
Sohum is nice, l used to wear their perfumes. They have a store at Vic Market, I'd love to go & smell everything again one child free day 😂. Wasn't really a candle person until l got gifted a fancy DS & Durga one which l think will kick off a candle journey. But normally burn to get rid of cooking smells or when l feel like being fancy.
I’m the same as you, I like fresh, zesty, citrusy scents. I also really like lemongrass. My husband has terrible hayfever and sinus issues so I only burn a candle when I know he won’t be home for a while. And I do the same as you - burn the first layer and then blow it out and let the scent linger rather than burning it for ages.
Bathnbodyworks candles suck here in Canada. The 3wick ones only burn half way and make a mess. Anyone remember the Calvin Klein candles from 2011(ish) Leaf was one of the scents and I bought them weekly. Man I miss that candle
If you haven’t tried wax house candle co they have one called lemon meringue cupcake that is delicious! They also have a zesty lemon but I think that one smells like toilet cleaner. Some of their other ones that are good are cinnamon doughnut, there’s a lovely coffee bean or the maple pancakes one is divine, but makes me hungry! As for fresh scents my absolute favourite is the Circa alchemy white tea and wild mint. So fresh but with a hint of sweetness
I have looked at Washouse Candles but I never bit the bullet and placed an order! Thanks for the heads up! I love the Cica homes blood orange one, I haven't bought it in ages because I have a candle stash that I need to use up, but I love it! I will need to try the white tea and wild mint one soon! ❤️
I love this video so much I loooveeeecandles. I wanted to make sure I was using my stash so I panned them last year omg I used 40 full sized up. Yep I use them lol.
My favorite candle of all time was the old Goutal Eau de Hadrien, and I bought the minis which only came out at Christmas. Now they have regular candles, but they use soy wax. I loved the old beeswax because it sweated oily, and before burnings I dabbed the solid fragrance on as perfume. I like this better than the perfume, which I have and don't reach for, it's heavier compared to the fresh candle version. I have one precious set of 5 candle minis left. well 4 now. Burning one a year. I am obsessed with pine-y winter scents, lately that is The White Company Fir fragrance they only do at Christmas. I get the candle, multiple reed diffusers, electronic diffuser oil bottles, and a house spray. This fragrance sells out so quick. I love anything juniper, gin, forest, as long as it is fresh. No florals or spice for me, though pumpkin pie spice is nice from Halloween to Thanksgiving.
I only burn candles in the winter. Otherwise, I use wax melts on my electric burner. I love clear the air (eucalyptus and lemongrass) and butter wouldn't melt (for the gourmand foodie smell) from lush
I recently got my first Glass House candle (I'm in the US) and it's called Merry and Bright and the scent is pineapple and mint fizz. The scent throw is amazing and I kept the box around for a few weeks until it didn't smell like it any more. Beautiful packaging as well!
I always have wax melts going in my home office, I have two which are like catnip for me, Frostbeard Studio's Bookstore scent and Trapp Candle's Orange Vanilla. The orange vanilla is amazing, it's a semi-sweet scent, the orange is a natural orange (I'm sure you know what I mean, as opposed to a fake candy orange) and there's a vanilla creaminess to it that doesn't make the overall effect seem too sugary. If happiness had a scent, that's what it would smell like. Both brands have their scents in both candles and wax melts, I just prefer the wax melts for my home office. I also always have a jar candle of some sort on the kitchen island, we like to light it while cooking dinner and for a little atmosphere while we're sitting down to eat. Those I rotate depending on the season, I've been enjoying candles from the "Homesick" brand but honestly I just pick up whatever looks interesting. I almost wish we could get Glass House candles here for the gorgeous jars!
I was just burning Sugared lemon zest🍋 candle ❤ I only tried b&bw candles because i con only afford them on sale ! I like : Paris cafe ✨️ Sugared lemom zest Raspberries & whipped vanilla Raspberry mimosa Island Margareta (you'll like it very sweet & fresh) Pineapple mango Palo Santo vanilla Marshamello fireside Pumpkin pecan waffles Black Cherry merlot Spiced cardamom / hot cocoa (i got them once & they didn't restock them again)
I love that beautiful Glass house candle!! I recall you talking about them in past videos as your splurge item and I’m debating picking a few up now that my Voluspa candles are getting low. Do you have any recommendations for scents?
The last 2 years, Aldi has had Jo Molene dupes. I have have bought 60 on clearance (different scents). and I’m obsessed with Black tea one. And yes, bath and body works in overrated. I wait until there is a huge sale and I have gift cards
i really like bath and body works 'Paris Cafe' and 'Pumpkin Spice Late', they smell really nice like in coffee shop. 'Freshly brewed coffee' is not as nice :(

@@jenn3569 oh thank you! It doesn't feel like much of a break haha! But it is nice to take the pressure off ❤❤
So excited to see you unexpectedly pop up in my feed, hope you're able to take some time to relax while you're not filming x

I do love the JoLoves ones. A lot of bang for that little size.

Wickety wack are o.k. I love a good candle sale.
