Expandable Concept
The SH59X is a motorcycle top case unique in the market. Its innovative design allows its loading volume to be regulated in up to 3 different positions in a matter of seconds (46, 52 and 59 litres), which allows to carry 2 enduro helmets without having to put them to the side, plus travel accessories. It also has internal holding straps to ensure that the load doesn’t move.
The top cover of the top case is made in 0.8mm thick aluminium and the rest is made of reinforced polypropylene. Its structural frame guarantees high rigidity and resistance with minimum weight. It offers the possibility to include, as an accessory, and expandable internal bag (X0IB10). It has a top opening, an external pocket for direct access and it is reinforced with an internal foam to protect the contents from any hit. It also has a strap and a handle to make it easier to carry it. In this way, the internal bag makes it easier to transport your belongings without having to extract the top case.
It offers maximum security thanks to its innovative hermetic lock “Smart Lock System”, with automatic retractable handle and a hermetic lock in 3 positions. This system allows to keep the top case open without the possibility to extract it, and it can be open and closed without key, so that it only needs the key to block it. It can be open with only one hand.
The cutting-edge technology and the innovative design of the eXpandible case earned the prestigious Reddot Design Award 2017, a reference among designers and manufacturers. The patented system that regulates the SH59X volume, allowing to expand or reduce its size, turns it into a highly functional and practical case, that adapts itself to the motorcyclist needs at all times:
- Size L: offers a 46L volume, perfect to transport everything you need every day.
- Size XL: In the second level, it reaches 52L, very useful for short weekend escapades. With capacity to hold two full-face helmets.
- Size XXL: it reaches a 59L volume, enough to carry everything you need for that amazing adventure you have been dreaming about for so long. With capacity to hold two endure helmets.
As optional accessories, we also have a double backrest and braking light. The backrest (D0RI80) has two pieces, made with two layers of polyurethane foam, covered in synthetic leather with two textures, which guarantees total comfort for the passenger. The braking light (D0B29KL) is made with energy-saving leds and it is very easy to install, as it is fit in the lower part of the top case’s base. This increases security, as the bike is more visible from behind.
The aluminium eXpandible SH59X is perfect to combine with road and mountain trails (Trail Adventure), due to its exclusive aluminium finish, matching the new SH35 side cases with aluminium finish.

If you have used this SH59X Top Case from Shad, I am looking forward for your long term feedback: is it resistant? Is it reliable? Does the mechanism fails after a while?

I used the same metal mounts that you did. I found that eventually, they broke the plastic plate. The silver metal adapters will then bend and start to slide through the plastic. I almost lost my top case because of it. I switched to using some of the other locations with the red adapters. They seem to hold the plate on better.
@JoseVargas814 strange to hear that... No issues in 64,000 Km. And I bought another plate for my scooter same no problem.
I've just watched some installation videos of this SH59X on OTHER bikes and it's a total nightmare, especially for some bikes with a metal plate adapter on top of the rack. You can definitely be grateful that for the Honda NC750X the installation will go Flowless 👍😁

NC750X - 16/20
The SHAD Top Master fitting allows mounting a top case onto the motorcycle. It is a fitting specifically designed por each motorcycle model, taking into account its features. The result is a high quality product, comfortable, safe, and easy to assemble and disassemble.
To mount the top case onto the bike it is necessary to add to the top fitting, the plate included in the SHAD cases (except for TR48/TR37).
Compatible with medium (D1B40PA) and big (D1B481PA) mounting plates , valid for TR48/TR37/SH59X/SH58X/SH50/SH48/SH46/SH45/SH40/SH39. ). To use with SH37/SH34/SH33/SH29/SH26 is necessary to use medium mounting plate. ATTENTION: top fitting not compatible with aluminium mounting plate (D1BTRPA).
Also check out on the video how many fittings you have on the package, it must be that you can do it.

Foarte fain topcase ul și foarte util mai ales pt pasager
Posibil să ai dreptate, însa am urmat pașii din ghidul lor 😁 Au venit găurile la fix, și pe mijloc sunt mulțumit 😊 La Nc750x e floare la ureche să vezi la alte motorete care au placa sub placă, trebuie să strângi șuruburile cu piulițele pe dedesubtul plăcii, nu ai loc, e o distracție. La altele trebuie dat jos tot spatele 😁😁😁 Zic mersi că a mers așa ușor.
To give an idea of just how big a carrying capacity the "Shad X58" top case has, I have one mounted on my 2020 Honda CB500X here in Australia. It will easily hold a 30 pack of "Toohey's New" cans and still has a bit of room to spare!
Easily holds my Shoei Neotech 2 modular helmet and my jacket securely whilst I'm at work.
I was actually out riding on some dirt roads with it yesterday and I accidently dropped the bike whilst trying to park on a less than ideal position, on the side of the dirt road. Shad top case handled the impact no worries!

Just bought the SH58X and my first reaction was "Bloody hell it's flamin' massive." I suppose I'll get used to it and be happy to have all that room for my sandwiches.

Hi man! Greetings! It's just perfect with top case and my wife can travel with more confort now 😊 We made around 600 Km so far with the top case and it's quite ok, it ads some extra weight but it handles very well on corners and wind. see has a good feedback about it when it comes to the confort. Just now I am preparing a surprise video, I will update you tomorrow! RIDE SAFE! 👍

Sorry for bumping an old thread but this setup will work just fine on the 2021dct version even the mounting from the 2020 modell fits the 2021 bike

Thanks for the video. I just bought one. One question pls: how much weight do you put in it ? I know the label says up to 10kgs. But in reality do you go higher than that? I plan to go long distance journey and want to carry more than 10 kgs. Hence the question. Thnx

the review and guide is good except one of the earlier steps.
you reinforced the rack to the chassis too soon, you only reinforce it once the plate is installed, slowly tightening each screw on plate and rack until you can a perfect install.
while your plate is centered, your rack is asymmetrical , this is obvious from the asymmetrical location of plate screws.

I've paid 400 EUR for both rack and top case.

This it's my future intention, it's depending on how organised we are when it comes to the holiday luggage... Still I prefer not to load the bike so much. We all know that sky it's the limit when it comes to holiday luggage 🛅😂
It would be even more pleasing to the eye while keeping the load light, of course.
From the aesthetics, the silver Shad cases are looking just amazing with this bike and don't forget about the aerodynamics, these cases seem that they got the complete package...
Still, the locker it's quite poor... And the key works not 100% perfect, perhaps it can be made smoother with some grease.
Do you think it's safe enough for a pillion to rest on it all day on a long trip?

How about vibration? Rattle on speed?
It's not as vibrant as Givi, maximum speed I had was 130 Km/h with it no problems. Also had some potholes and bumps still in place quite solid. Still has some small issues you can find them in one of my latest videos 👇

Shad make nice gear but it is very expensive. If I was to do it again I would use the Shad rack but would buy a much cheaper topbox from ebay rather than shad.( I must say though that none of the ebay boxes are as good as the shad SH59X)
Indeed Shad looks very nice, good quality, well done... but it costed 450 € (full package with backrest included). Quite expensive 👀😱😳

@@IdealBike M-am uitat de mai multe ori la clipul tău, pentru că aș vrea să găsesc o soluție pentru montarea plăcii, cât mai în față, la limita deschiderii șeii pasagerului, pentru alimentare. În poziția standard, nu-mi place, e prea în spate. Cum nu merg cu pasager, iar "valiza" aș folosi-o doar când aș merge la cumpărături, mă gândeam că ar fi și estetic, și ar elibera mult din vizibilitatea lămpii stop. Deocamdată, aștept motocicleta. Între timp voi lua cutia și suportul și voi studia problema.
@1zanglang cum faci să se deschidă corect șaua spate pentru alimentarea cu carburant? Găurile de la placă zic eu că-ți vor permite să muți placa dar nu știu dacă vei mai putea deschide șaua...
@@IdealBike Păi, asta am scris și eu. Să mă duc cu placa și implicit cutia, până la limita șeii, în poziția deschisă. Eventual, aș mai modifica unghiul la tija șeii, ca să se ridice doar cât să pot alimenta. Ce nu-mi place la suport, e că nu are o traversă de rigidizare, între cele două "jumătăți". Presupun că placa pe care se prinde cutia, e doar din polimer, ceva ABS, armat cu fibră de sticlă, cum sunt carcasele de la sculele electrice. Nu cred să aibe inserție metalică, așa că va flexa. Probabil, asta e cauza pentru care cutiile astea au încărcarea limitată la 8 - 10 kg.
În concluzie, ca un bun inginer de armament naval, ce sunt, m-am apucat să fac niște schițe pentru o soluție DIY, cât mai compactă și solidă, din ce "fiare" mai găsesc pe "lângă" casă. 😁Dar pentru definitivarea "proiectului" trebuie să am motocicleta și placa/ cutia. Cum stocurile Honda sunt epuizate pt. 2023, trebuie să văd cum mă pot înscrie la "rabla" din septembrie a.c. probabil cu plata integrală și să aștept livrarea în 2024🤨
