- Gregory and Aileen's marriage began with joy-filled love for one another. But as the years went by, Gregory began to invest all of his time into work and ministry at church-and Aileen chose to withdraw from her husband and to focus on her children. In 2008, Aileen attended the first True Woman conference with a group of women from their church in the Dominican Republic. Through the teaching she heard there, the Holy Spirit started a fresh work in her heart, and she brought the "Seeking Him" study home with her. Gregory also began the study. Using the truth in the pages of that book, God shined a bright light on hidden sin in Gregory and Aileen's marriage. And only by grace, their marriage has been restored and renewed by the forgiveness made possible through Christ! Watch Gregory and Aileen tell how God's mercy transformed their relationship.
Please pray for my wife and I. She has left our marriage after 29 years. She moved away. And says she's filing for divorce. I love and miss her so much. I've been fasting and praying non stop and it feels like I'm not heard. Ugh. Please pray for me also to give it to God and trust He's in control. And for strength. I've really been struggling. I am happier now than ever before, with my husband, even though I was betrayed and hurt so badly. God is so good!

I heard it over and over from other couples in the same situation that God told them to forgive because they are as bad (also a sinner as much as the cheating spouse), therefore you have to forgive. But I don't see God as someone who kicks you while you are down; "Oh you better forgive because you are not any better". I think it's an excuse Christian women or men make so they would feel less stupid forgiving the cheating spouse. The God I know would want you to forgive so that you could be healed. He is a restorer. He could restore your marriage to the point that it is even better than before the cheating happened. The God I know would say "my child what he did to you was wrong. But I will walk you though it. I'm holding your hand while you are healing through forgiveness". No condamnation. Just love.
I agree but I think its how they say it. God uses it as a tool to show us that since we have been forgiven, we should forgive but yeah sometimes people explain it as if its condemnation. The bible says there is no condemnation for those who are in Chris Jesus.

I don't see it as kicking them when they are down, but opening their eyes to see their spouse the way God does.
The Bible also says that our good deeds are like filthy rags and we cannot receive God's forgiveness if we withhold it from others.
We are no better than the one who has hurt us, because we have also hurt others...BUT that isn't the end of the story. We are also cherished, loved, and sought after by God.

I don’t think her anger was the same as his sin but I think God was showing her that she was sinful too even though she didn’t commit the same sin. Our righteousness is as filthy rags .

Deeply wounded, he not only destroyed our family but after 5 years almost our kids just out of hatred. I had forgiven merely as an act of obedience. Finally today I have to let go of my girls (ages 15 and 11) because the dysfunction was bigger and me just keeping to strive to being there was fixing nothing. Praise the Lord the girls new counselor us devout Christian seared also through loss and pain. Although the pain is HUGE our Lord is stronger and I look forward to the brand NEW and BETTER that He will work in our lives, starting by the overhaul of my heart with His grace. Thanks for sharing your story, at the dawn of Christmas eve/18 it brought me hope.
There will be a special place in heaven for this gracious woman. What a tragic story. Her poor heart. I am thankful that God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness restored them though. I hope he has truly changed.

I have hope after this story. I can forgive my husband for not making me a priority. For not giving me the gift of physical love and sex. He is finally on testosterone shots. And today is my first day that I have asked God to help me forgive my husband to help love him again as I once did. Sexless marriages are not easy and as women we feel neglected, rejected and our self esteem suffers.

Agreed. the Bible says to be angry and sin not. It's not a sin to be angry, Jesus was when He flipped over the tables in the temple. It's possible to be angry and not sin, just like it's possible to be sad and not sin. Anger is not a sin.

Hey maunder i agree anger is often the first thing the flesh feels but as children of god we are led by the Spirit of god and the spirit tells us in the word James 1:20, ESV: "for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God." The lord also said we are to forgive 70 x 7 times if a brother asks so im yeilding to the spirit and gonna let anger go and choose mercy over sacrifice -ive been angry at times and the lord has showed me its a sin as we deserve his anger for our wrongs but he does not treat us as we deserve so im a slave to the lord because of his mercy so i can and only want to do the same in obedience to the father
Trust is a huge factor that needs to be rebuilt when the marriage vow is broken. It’s not I’m sorry I got caught but a repentant heart.

Lizzie Sanders going through a rough time myself. Grieving 23 years marriage.. would be 24 if husband was home... anger is one of the 5 stages of grief... when you are feeling so much pain you go through waves of emotions that you struggle with and wake up with..and go to bed with. I believe God understands as he is a good God. Yet daily I pray he helps me control these emotions as anger is a fire breathing emotion that is destructive. And I pray for God's healing daily and try so hard to behave in God's grace.. hope this makes sense..
