Wrong description of “Archimedes principle”. Correct explanation is that upward buoyant force which the liquid exerts on the, partly or fully immersed body is equal to the weight of the liquid, that the body displaces. Since the volume of the ship is very large, the weight of the sea water which it displaces also very large and is much greater than actual weight of the ship, this makes ship to float on water. A ship will sink if water gets filled inside its body and ship’s weight becomes more than that weight of the water that is displaced by the ship. This is not a rocket science but only a school level physics.
