Honestly, it feels like Pat herself is not in the brand anymore. Feels like there are some business people just making cheap decisions to make the most money. Can't help thinking if the brand is close to the end, and they are just trying to milk the last buck before it closes down 😢
Yeaaaaaa thissssss - everything is reading like it’s final days. I wouldn’t be mad if they just completely downsized and just focused on a few lovely releases each year (that are creative >___>)
Totally agree and if that is so, I would think the next logical move would be to sell the brand all together, like Bobbie Brown. I have not been impressed by the brand for a few yrs now almost.🤔
I totally agree. I know she has two large investors and that’s what it feels like they’re making cheap decisions because she’s not coming out with artistic ideas they’re more run-of-the-mill what everybody wants to see.
At this point in time, her releases have become somewhat of an insult to her loyal fan base. I'm convinced that they either carry out zero customer research surveys or Pat's been abducted and locked in a basement somewhere.
Hey Patty 😊 Just so you know, this quad is FOUR repeat shades. Galactic Glow is an already existing shade in the Celestial Odyssey palette. Much love ❤
On IG someone mentioned the colors, and the response was, “these colors did so well in 2023 we decided to bring them back!” …more like, they didn’t sell and we have extra!
I'm so happy you confirmed that the eyeshadow quad contains 3 of the same shades as the Jewelled Temptation palette! I had a feeling! Thanks Patty, you just saved me a lot of money 🤗
I predict we’ll see this quad go on super sale at Sephora and TJ Maxx type stores soon after the launch 🫠 - I agree I’ve been disappointed with her recent launches - they used to be so much more exciting 🤩
Apart from Natasha Denona, I have turned almost exclusively to small indie businesses for my makeup over the past 12 months. There's innovation in formulas and exciting colour stories coming from small indie brands when the big names are just giving us the same old stuff. I love my original motherships but I skipped the most recent release and I won't come back until she gives us something interesting again.
@@TeaCup1940 Glaminatrix Cosmetics, Terra Moons, Shine By SD, Clionadh Cosmetics, Electrum Cosmetics, and Devinah Cosmetics are all companies I have ordered from, mostly single shadows and the occasional palette. I buy the transparent acrylic empty magnetic palettes from Kryptein Cosmetics to store my singles. I like some of the Odens Eye colour stories too, I have a few palettes from them but don't have any of their singles. I have a big collection of palettes for a non-influencer, so I try to use the palettes I own to support the singles in my eye looks. I don't buy singles in mattes, only in super sparkly shimmers, metallics and multichromes. It took me ages to get into singles because I'm a sucker for gorgeous packaging and I like the cohesive look of a palette but the transparent acrylic palettes look amazing full of gorgeous multichromes!
They also expire quickly in my experience. I spent over $200 on the SatinAllure cool-tone lipsticks last year, because it was the first time I'd ever found lipsticks that didn't pull warm and orange on me, but one arrived rancid straight out of the packaging and unfortunately the rest all went off within about two months. I was quite interested in the lilac shade of the new glitter pigments, but in multiple reviews, I saw people mention a very rancid smell, as if the products had already expired, which has kind of sealed the deal that I won't be buying anything else from the brand, because I'm wondering if they need to address a quality issue at whichever factories they're using.
That’s because her brand is a bed of lies, wrapped in a filtered AF dream! Pat has BEEN getting over on us for years…we’re just finally deeply peeping the bullish!t. I’m going to act like the brand doesn’t exist anymore. 😑🙃
It’s obvious that the brand doesn’t care about the customers. Her shipping is absolutely abysmal. Orders never filled, some never refunded, the same themes, deleted comments. It’s sad.
She deleted my comments about the repeat colors. It's fine. Delete away. But I'm not going to be scammed by some rando who is selling makeup on colour pop packaging. 😂
The holiday palettes went on sale real quick! They still couldn't get rid of the stock so they clearly just repacked some of the shades in that cheap ugly red cardboard and called it a 'Valentines Day' collection, it's still only January and we have TWO re-packaged quads for Chinese New Year and Valentines day - Pat's brand is so cooked.
Completely agree. Industry insiders will tell you that packaging generally costs more than the make up itself. If that is true, the customer should see a savings when you switch from luxury to cardboard packaging. Also, it's been more of the same from Pat McGrath for the past four years or so. I am over it.
I doubt industry insiders are lying 😂 the only products that are a considerable cost factor are the baked formulas BUT there are multiple non luxury brands doing baked products too for much less
I can understand the cardboard packaging from a recycling/sustainability point-of-view, BUT charging that much for them is outrageous. I gave up on the brand last year, I just have been really disappointed recently, especially when Danessa Myricks and Natasha Denona are knocking it out of the park this last year!!
Exactly. Why would I spend $56 on a cheap pallete of old colors when I can buy Natosha Denona, who consistently provides gorgeous, luxe shadows that perform better and have a cohesive color story.
I couldn’t agree more. I have collected every eyeshadow product the brand released. I loved PML. This drop in quality and obsession with rosy, pinky tones has done it for me. This lazy release is the absolute straw for me. I’m still hoping the brand will hear their customers and go back to what they were good at and what made us fall in love with the brand.
Using existing shades is one thing, but using existing shades from one(!) palette that released just a few months ago really doesn’t sit well with me. Just straight up lazy behaviour.. I totally agree with you on this and thank you for being so honest!
I feel the same. I love Pat just as much as you, Patty, but this was a big let down. I really hope she turns things around soon. She’s lost the “artistry” that she once had. It was magical. We need it back!
I feel the same way and I've decided to give this collection a pass too. I did pick up a few things from the vault on Pat's website recently that I didn't already have. Nude Nocturne is gorgeous. That's what's jumping out at me too.
I agree with you. Such a shame, the early stuff was so good. Now I’m much more excited by indie releases, which are good quality and have more inventive colour collections. And are usually cheaper.
I’m passing on this release too…very disappointing from Pat. I read that the champagne shade was existing too apparently, so Googled last night. Temptalia has a review of one of Pat’s Eyedols with the name Galactic Glow, so could be the same shade 🤷🏼♀️
I also think it's telling that PMG as a brand has lost the hype that previously surrounded it as this is the first and only video I've seen on this collection from my subscriptions whereas previously there would have been several within hours of the collection being revealed.
So over it, girl. Definitely a pass! Disappointing is an understatement. I would rather her only put out one luxurious product that is gorgeous and worth the money than putting out these big repeat and cheap feeling collections! Where is the artistry?! So sad, mother! 😢 I will be playing with my older loved palettes or spending my money elsewhere… Danessa, Lisa, Natasha here I come ladies!
Packaging is cardboard, the 4 shades are repeats and the price is yet very high. She teased us with blue and she delivered pink/purple again….. but if she keeps on going that means that some ppl keep buying the same colors always… I don’t know which is the saddest
This is totally to my personal skin tone but I am very fair with strong cool undertones and I just wish she (and many other brands) would come out with more cool options. Burgandy, pink, coral, champagne, they usually look off on me but beautiful on other tones so I understand
Have you tried the I need a nude or glam palettes from Natasha Denona? Those two and the Pretty Grunge from Huda are really great for cooler tones. I’m really fair too and need neutral/cool tones.
@ParticularlyChar thank you. Yep! 😊 Got em all. I do find INAN is quite warm and half of the grunge palette (although I do enjoy them). I especially love the new Xenon but not quite as exciting as the Ensley Reign Cold Moon (if it ever gets here lol) I just wish there were more options 😅 Especially with blushes, highlights etc I'm so over everything from PMG being warm burgundys. Her MTHSP 1 is still my fav 😁
I think this brand is really struggling with supply chain and inflation issues. The cardboard packaging, the lack of special shades, the lack of unique pigments... It just feels like they're really struggling. That said, this release is so disappointing, and I'm even more disgusted that on IG they're deleting comments and blocking people for expressing their disappointment. Remember when ND released the retro palette and fans spoke up about it not really fitting the mini retro vibes, so they actually listened? Pat's team should take note.
Yeah you're absolutely on point. It's pretty obvious the company has rotten policies and doesn't have the customer's interests at heart. It's a shame Pat had to sell to these ppl.
You absolutely nailed it! Were my first impressions too (I was so sure of already existing shades) and I won't be buying anything from this collection. Maybe the darker lipstick when it's on sale. Thank you for confirming my first impressions.
Pat McGrath must have left the business at this point, or be taking a much less hands on role. There’s just no way someone that visionary and creative could produce this collection. It just seems such a lazy collection and like there’s been zero thought put into it.
Ooh this justified rant was refreshingly honest and I completely agree with you lovely and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. I have just got myself slowly into Pat Magrath but it's like she's jumped on the greedy bandwagon of rehashing previously launched colours, which is also lazy and as for the cardboard packaging the common excuse is going down the road of sustainability which is fair enough if they drop the price to compensate for this, I'm with you for the deepest shade lipstick, but the rest nah no thanks it's time these greedy companies had a wake up call. Love this video ❤ Thank You darl 🥰🌟
I’m so happy you are being honest with this. Why charge the same and give us less quality. I’m glad you are putting your foot down so to speak. Hopefully that makes a difference for Pat McGrath. Hopefully she goes back to what works for us ! I didn’t buy any thing this past holiday.
When I saw this new release coming up, I really wasn’t interested in the color story. I never purchased the deeper holiday palette, but I’m honestly surprised that three out of four of the shades in the new palette are repeats! I don’t blame you for being disappointed, Patty! Obviously, if you have the deeper holiday palette from Pat, you certainly don’t need the new one! Especially with cheaper packaging!
I agree with you, Patty. At best I will be picking up the darker lipstick. I wanted to add that someone posted that even the highlighting shade in the quad is from a previous holiday large palette (maybe 2022 or 2021), so none of them are new shades. I didn’t even pick up the Jeweled Temptation palette and I am still not picking up the quad. If I didn’t care for the larger palette, which was at a better price point over all, why would I buy the quad!?! Very disappointing release, but reflecting back on my Bridgerton Palettes, I feel that I wasted my money on those as well. I may only be looking at the large Motherships in the future and only if they provide some innovation and different shades.
The Highlighting shade is also a repeat from another of the 18 pan palettes (the one with the green on the bottom right). Im happy though because I need to save anyway, so I will not have any FOMO as I have all of the shades in the quad. I may get both lipsticks and the highlighter though if they go on sale.
PMG does it because people keep purchasing palettes with the same color story. People should demand better. I stopped buying long ago but I definitely enjoy the reviews and demos.
I'm only interested in the highlighter, because i dont own any of the gelee highlighters but i don't want to buy without seeing an influencer whose skin tone im familiar with test it. By the time i see the reviews they are always sold out! 🤷🏼
Also agree that when I saw the shades after the 1st packaging email, I was like what's new? We wld already hv all e 4 shades in e quad in wither PM or other brands correct? So this Quad is my only disappointment release from all PM releases tbh. On e flip side? I saved e money.
I own 3 of her old Mothership palettes and I'm more than satisfied with them. All different ones with many colourshades I use, and I don't need anymore of her shades. It all looks the same now.
It's been obvious to me for over the past couple years that the investor(s) are running the brand and not Pat. Which is why the revolutionary color stories of world renowned makeup artist (Pat McGrath) are a thing of the past. The investors job is making money and producing product that the masses will purchase, which is why the last few Motherships are all similar. People complain but still buy it. Money talks. What people continue to buy is what the brand will continue to make. It's simple business. Motherships I-VI, THAT was Pat McGrath. My opinions and beliefs 🙃
If you truly go through the eyeshadow portfolio of the brand, then you will also see that 'Galactic Glow' is also from the Celestial Odyssey palette from 2023 and is also a repeated shade.
Yeah this was a total disappointment for me too. I was actually shocked it was in cardboard packaging. I pickup up the holiday palette already and I might have even considered the valentines one up for my travel case had it been in the standard black plastic packaging but definitely a nope for me sadly. 💜
I want Nude Nocturne, but I don't like Pat's lipsticks enough to pay full price. So I shall wait for a sale. Also dang for the shades being all repeats of a very recent collection.
I never had a desire to purchase any of her products because I couldn’t justify the outrageous price. The only pat mcgrath items I did get were the mini palettes for 29.00 at Sephora. I got the purple and brown and still haven’t used them yet but will. I will pass on this and 56.00 for cardboard is silly and then to put repeat shades is a big turn off. Thanks for sharing.
I have to ask - what do you think will happen to Tom Ford now that Estée Lauder has bought it out. I REALLY hope quality doesn’t go down. Only foundation my skin tolerates.
Patty! On another PM note, which if any of the old palettes that are being sold now in her "vault" would you recommend? I really thought I wanted that Belle of the Ball, yet when I went back and watched your review of it you were just meh.... tytyty!
Not to mention the extra shipping pollution caused by the palette being made in the US and assembled in the Dominican Republic… just make and assemble in the same place, make the product cheaper to reflect cheaper packaging, and take the profit cut. That’s not even mentioning the repetitiveness.
I completely agree with you! I’m so disappointed in her collections lately! I also felt that way for a long time about Natasha’s collections too! I’m going back to wearing Chanel, they keep innovating and improving, and the quality is always there! Yes it costs more but honestly I’d rather pay more and never be disappointed!!!
I am so sad. I loved her Valentine release last year was so excited to see what would be coming out this year and I was super disappointed. I have skipped out on releases since that release last year, have been disappointed on all palettes released since then. I buy every mothership and every christmas collection, and skipped out last year and was hoping for something new for Valentine.
I love Pat McGrath, but last year I skipped the big pallet due to another Divine Rose pallet. Then the holiday pallets came with what seemed to be similar shades she had in previous holiday pallets (the big pallets). The 5 pan pallets seemed to be the star of the show, but it was not enough for me to buy. Now we are in 2024 and Pat is off to a bad start with me. At this point I have started to look at other brands like Isamaya Ffrench.
Thanks Patty, I am disappointed too. And this past Holiday collection of hers was the first I didn't purchase from in YEARS. I'll go to indie brands over this...
Packaging is one of the things that drive up cost of the shadows as well as the formula. With having cardboard packaging and not including any of her special shades, I struggle to see why the cost of this palette is $56. Maybe I am wrong, but seems like it is a little high for what is being offered. I have not purchased from PML in a while since I prefer the old style color stories and formula, but this one is really disappointing.
I agree with all of your opinions, Patty 👏👏. Easy pass for me, so I guess the silver lining is it’s saving me money?! Anyway, hope you’re having an awesome trip away❣️❣️
When I looked at the quad I thought to myself I am not buying that, I have the shades already. This was before your video. The brand is not PM it’s her investors, the same can be said for CT.
🌸🌸🌸Totally agree with you in all regards. Seriously, what the H is she thinking? We aren’t stupid, we like quality, we want variety, we love value and she continues to make the same old color story and in a crappy package? She is becoming an expensive TooFaced! Does she have control of her own company? Is she oblivious to everything people are saying with almost every launch? Or is she just sitting there laughing? It truly does not make sense and I am soooooo over her and her overpriced cra&! No more, thanks. Look at all the BEAUTIFUL Indy releases out now. I would rather purchase and support those brands for their fun colors and innovative releases! Patty, it’s ‘ok’ to break up with her….I know it’s just colored dust but some do it with a bit more integrity than others…. As always, thank you for your honest video! Love ya!🌸🌸🌸
@@rree4551 yes but if investors are pressurizing her that they want bang for their buck, it makes sense that she is releasing things that will sell easily rather than artsy creative stuff.
If Natasha Denona can make shimmery eyeshadows as good as Pat's...I will definitely stop buying the same products from Pat. Unfortunately here in Brazil we don't have access to independent brands like we have access to Natasha and Pat, otherwise I would be buying from them. But hey, Danessa Myrics is here.
I completely agree, skip this one. The holiday collection was very cheap looking. We tried to love MTHRSHP XI but sooo many pinks! Pat should take some pointers from Natasha Denona who can literally do no wrong!
*Patty...❤... "Hey 🖐🏽😘 Beautiful" I Feel The Same! Whomever Is In Marketing "Pink This, Carboard That, Cutting Corners" Need's A New Job! If It's Not Broke.. Don't Fix It* 🎯
While I’m a lil upset by this release I’m also relieved I get to not spend money. Let the ppl who passed on the holiday release pick this up. This just goes to show us we should not be collecting makeup
I have absolutely no problem with cardboard packaging on my cosmetics, because I care about the future of the planet more than I care about my makeup. It’s excellent that more brands are finally getting the memo about sustainability.
Wow I truly appreciate your help to inform us that truth behind her products. I have only 2 pallets of pat McGrath. First one is bronze mother sp 2 eyeshadow pallet it's Celestial disease And these 2 can be used on any type of skin for all types of woman The new onye's I'm not attracted to are expensive and cheap quality . I pass I'm ok with this 2 I don't need anything else I owned a better pallets from other brands that I love because of Patty and I have to say that you speak the truth. As other tutorials lied about every product that are expensive and cheap products. But they sponsors by them with our disclosure. Patty you are a true honestl woman that I trust her reviews ❤❤❤❤❤
Me too when I saw the email from PM I just knew it is nothing new nor sexy even tho I hvnt seen the shades only the packaging. Somehow I just knew it won't be something that wld wow me to part w my money. So I am confirming my guts after ur vid @patty...
Makeup by Mario, Natasha Denona (my personal fave brand), and Danessa Myricks are all MUA-founded brands where it's apparent the founders are still heavily-involved. With PML, it's like she's either absent or just doesn't care anymore, which is the same as being absent. She founded her brand with a sterling reputation for her innovative makeup artistry, which makes the stultifying sameness of her brand all the more baffling. I honestly cannot think of a MUA-founded brand that is more boring than PML.
Honestly, it feels like Pat herself is not in the brand anymore. Feels like there are some business people just making cheap decisions to make the most money. Can't help thinking if the brand is close to the end, and they are just trying to milk the last buck before it closes down 😢

Totally a slap in the face. She's a scam artist and I am not here for it.
Hey Patty 😊
Just so you know, this quad is FOUR repeat shades. Galactic Glow is an already existing shade in the Celestial Odyssey palette.

Ohhhh!
The holiday palettes went on sale almost immediately, they didn’t sell well. These are clearly repackaged leftover stock shades PM has to get rid of.

I didn't get the holiday palette with those shades. So I did not already have them. I prefer the quad cause those colors are beautiful.
Just ordered the ND collection. Thank you for the discount code. I'm so excited for it! ❤
Hi Patty! Your makeup is so pretty today! I'm with you, I will not be purchasing this release. Her makeup prices are just astronomical to me.
I'm just stuck on $100 Australian for cardboard packaging 😮 And I cant do bright pinks and purples 😢
Thank you for this!!! I was excited and for no reason since I bought the holiday palette.... Not good I expect more from Pat Mcgrath
I’m so happy you are being honest with this. Why charge the same and give us less quality. I’m glad you are putting your foot down so to speak. Hopefully that makes a difference for Pat McGrath. Hopefully she goes back to what works for us ! I didn’t buy any thing this past holiday.
😳three existing shades? I love Dame PMG, but I am going to pass on this release, too. Thank you for sharing this information. You saved me money.
I’ll be buying the Haze lipstick. Seems beautiful!
I totally trust your opinion, thanks for the heads up. 😊
I agree with you,the collection is not what l was hoping for.❤❤
When I saw this new release coming up, I really wasn’t interested in the color story.
Refreshing review. Thank you for calling out a release that offers little to customers anticipating creativity.
I'm only interested in the highlighter, because i dont own any of the gelee highlighters but i don't want to buy without seeing an influencer whose skin tone im familiar with test it. By the time i see the reviews they are always sold out! 🤷🏼
These baked gelee highlighters are truly lovely on the skin
Also agree that when I saw the shades after the 1st packaging email, I was like what's new? We wld already hv all e 4 shades in e quad in wither PM or other brands correct? So this Quad is my only disappointment release from all PM releases tbh. On e flip side? I saved e money.
I own 3 of her old Mothership palettes and I'm more than satisfied with them. All different ones with many colourshades I use, and I don't need anymore of her shades. It all looks the same now.
Thanks for this video! I don’t have that bigger palette so I wouldn’t have known. I agree the bigger palette is much better value.
I am super sad about this release as well! I am guessing we will never see another quad in the plastic packaging again. 😢
I knew after she did the Ipsy Icon Box that things were heading downhill. So sad.
I was so excited to see the color story and then there was a huge disappointment when I knew which type of colors and repeats they are 😢
I have to ask - what do you think will happen to Tom Ford now that Estée Lauder has bought it out.
Well she keeps giving me reasons to save my money. Thank you for the great video.
Thank you for sharing this and saving us all the money. 😢
Thanks for the honest information!
I want the lipsticks and the highlighter, but I think the highlighter looks similar to others of pat mcgrath, so I have doubts to purchase it
I completely agree with you! I’m so disappointed in her collections lately! I also felt that way for a long time about Natasha’s collections too! I’m going back to wearing Chanel, they keep innovating and improving, and the quality is always there! Yes it costs more but honestly I’d rather pay more and never be disappointed!!!
You look beautiful. Thanks for sharing your opinions.
At this point I have started to look at other brands like Isamaya Ffrench.
galactic glow is not a new shade, you can find it in celestial odissey :(
I can't believe she released the same color story back to back. That is crazy! I thought we were going to see something blue because of the blue rose!
Totally agree with you! HARD PASS!!!
Fuzzy Peach is the Pantone colour of the year. Just putting it out there. 😂❤😊 Love your content, Patty. New sub here.
They got greedy - lower quality packaging, cheaper formula and the same colours churned out. It’s such a shame.
I hv not bought any PM items after Bijoux..everything seems getting worse w time esp the latest Hearts Desire sucks big time bc no new shades wtf
Love ya!🌸🌸🌸
She doesn't own the company so it isn't her company!
@@exomake_mehorololo what the heck are you talking about? ?? Who said she did? This is a discussion about PM…..No one said anything to me contrary
I think it has to do with investors rather than herself.
@@RoseOfMadina nope she still owns controlling interest….
Don't Fix It* 🎯
The darker lipstick is also the only product that catches my eye on this collection
What lipgloss are you wearing it's beautiful
Wow I truly appreciate your help to inform us that truth behind her products. I have only 2 pallets of pat McGrath.
First one is bronze mother sp
2 eyeshadow pallet it's Celestial disease
And these 2 can be used on any type of skin for all types of woman
The new onye's I'm not attracted to are expensive and cheap quality . I pass I'm ok with this 2 I don't need anything else
I owned a better pallets from other brands that I love because of Patty and I have to say that you speak the truth. As other tutorials lied about every product that are expensive and cheap products. But they sponsors by them with our disclosure.
Patty you are a true honestl woman that I trust her reviews
❤❤❤❤❤
PMG highlighters are always too dark for me and they are VERY glittery. So a huge no. The rest of it doesn't grab me either
She doesn't own the brand... It changed owners years ago so realistically why should she be involved
Yes. Peope have been saying that it's because of her investors
I do like the palette: the packaging with red background and and blue rose but yeah, for cardboard charging 60+ is a joke
Does the purple eyeshadow have a black base??
Where is Pat McGrath and what have they done with her?
This will all be 60-70 % off summer/autumn
