    I have owned my Milwaukee jacket for just about 2 years now and I absolutely love it I have the soft heated jacket and I absolutely love it nowhere and tear really seen after being used pretty consistently and I am out in the weather conditions almost everyday. I bought myself a DeWalt jacket while I was on sale. It seems to be definitely a lighter jacket but is also a very good windbreaker when the heating elements are not on. I bought the one that had the heated arms which is the only thing that really pushed me to buy it to see if there was a huge difference between the DeWalt and the Milwaukee. I'm a big fan of both you can't lose with either of these

    I bought the Milwaukee black jacket last fall And I have used it now for About a year and I absolutely love it. It is extremely durable I have machine washed it probably 50 to 60 times it comes clean very easily it still looks really nice even though I have worked in it every day. Even at $200 it was an amazing by and would definitely do it again

    Sold! I wish I would’ve found your video 2.5 hours ago when searching many sites I got frustrated…YOU got right to the point and literally answered every question I had. I personally like the DeWalt jacket better because I’m using mostly on my motorcycle and you said it’s lighter has more mobility and I’d really never use the heated pockets, but if I had to work outside in the freezing snow and sleet I’d pick the Milwaukee jacket because it’s thicker and I’d use the heated pockets more. Thank you for taking the time to do this and getting right to the point.

    I'm also in lawn maintenance and use the Milwaukee (same model as yours, just black). I would agree that because the jacket itself is thicker, the heating gets "blocked" a bit. If you don't layer up too much underneath, then it's still quite warm. I wished it were a bit warmer. I really wanted the red or gray, but it didn't match our work uniforms and since it's primarily for work, I had to go black. I love the comments about "why does your jacket have a light on it?".

  • @lazzyrj1
    @lazzyrj1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    They need to make more accessories for these jackets. I am a motorcycle rider and I have been looking at motorcycle heated gear . The many different brands have jacket liners with gloves , pants , and sock connections already on the jackets . You can opt for any combo you want each interconnected with a separate temp. control . I would love to see both tool makers to expand their lines with full gear options. With their battery technology I know many contractor /construction /landscaping / hunters /motorcycle (every) guys would immediately pick their power tool brand over anything else.

It's absolutely insane that they don't start utilizing this across other brands outside of power tools. Ride safely!

    Hey!! Just a shout out for all the WOMEN out there - I received the women's Dewalt heated jacket as a present this past Christmas - It is awesome.. the styling is a bit different than the men's, it is more form fitting and stylish, and IT DOES COME WITH A HOOD (removable). It is nice as you said, because it is thinner and keeps the heating elements closer to you. I am investing the another battery as it runs out fairly quickly when on the high setting. It also has the phone charging option as well as the ability to store the battery on the interior as well as the exterior. I'm still learning all of the options, but I've found it to be very comfortable! Overall, this is an excellent jacket, great styling and I've receive compliments whenever I've worn it! Just thought you should have info on the ladies option! Thanks for the blog!

    Have had a Milwaukee heated sweatshirt for 3 years now. Heats very well, only wear and tear has been at the hands of sheet metal, as is normal for me. A little needle&thread action, and it keeps on going. Chose the sweatshirt over a jacket so that I can layer it under another coat for work, hunting, motorcycle, or whatever else I need.

    I love my dewalt jacket. I have a 20v max 5 ah battery. Can run on high for two work days before having to recharge. Only thing that bums me is the lack of heated pockets. As a side note, I snowboard and this jac let with the 5 ah battery has kept me warm in -10 degree weather. What would be awesome is a heated beanie and or gloves that can link into the jackets power source. That's my dream.

    I use a Milwaukee at work. Use a 4ah battery and managed all day wear on the medium setting. Going to get a 6ah battery. Just washed it for the first time and seems to be fine. Always alittle unnerving washing something electric. I combine that with Milwaukee's bib overalls which are lighter than carhartts.

    My thoughts as I own 2 Milwaukee jackets + the little lady has her own jacket & hoodie. Additionally I own a DeWalt jacket & she has the DeWalt Hoodie. I can't comment on the life in the DeWalt batteries as I do NOT use them. Yes I have the DeWalt batteries, but I found that the battery would disconnect from it's base too easily, when working, & thus, the heat would turn off. As it happens the Milwaukee battery holder attaches perfectly to the DeWalt power cord
    Battery life; on High 2 hrs is the max life, Med will give me a little over 3 hrs & a full 6 hrs on the low power setting. The Fall of 2019, I picked up some M12 XC 3.0 batteries. On high power I can get 6 hrs of heat & haven't bothered to see what the life span is on Med or Low level heat settings. The Larger XC 3.0 battery can be a PITA, when you are wearing the jacket in a vehicle, as you will need to position it, so it doesn't "dig into your back/left side.
    I have never used the heated pockets as I use my jacket as part of a layering system, with the jacket typically inside an insulated wood shirt/jacket.
    In my experience, the Dewalt jacket produces more heat & will typically drain the M12 batteries at a faster rate, than in the Milwaukee jackets. I am not a fan of "hoodies" in general, but the little lady loves them & never wears her Milwaukee jacket. Since we just purchased her Milwaukee hoodie, I can't say if she prefers one over the other
    I originally purchased her Milwaukee jacket 1st, for use when she was a passenger on my motorcycle, in the early or late parts of our season, when it's a bit chilly. I had a 12v hard wired jacket, but the alternator on the motorcycle didn't have enough output for both of us to wear a heated jacket & the Milwaukee performed the task perfectly

    Ok, so if any of the Milwaukee or Dewalt guys see this comment, you need to make these jackets accept a skull cap warmer as an accessory so it will plug into the jacket collar somewhere. Something like the Under Armour Heat Gear with warmer strips that plug into the jacket for us guys that like winter fishing, that would be an awesome accessory to the jacket!

    Love my Milwaukee, like this video says it's a warm jacket before even adding the electric heat. I do wish it had a heating element on the back neck like my Ororo vest, with the pocket warmer that would make it a perfect heated coat.

    I have the Milwaukee jacket and hoodie, both are great, but I agree about the hood. My wife and 5 year old son saw a heated Craftsman jacket with a removable hood and got it for me for Christmas. It turns out its compatible with the Milwaukee battery and adapter. Go take a look. it's a much warmer jacket, and the pockets are always on with the jacket. It will be great for really cold days, but it's much heavier than the Milwaukee jacket, so I don't think I'll need the heat on very high. My personal preference up to this point has been the hoodie with a warm jacket that I don't mind getting dirty, but then you don't get the pockets. This Craftsman jacket may be the best of both worlds!

My jacket ion high last an hour and a half to 2 hours max then I have a second battery with me and leave the Dea done in the truck to charge. It's very durable and pretty thick so it does keep me warm. The thing I found is that it gives u a slow paulse of heat it spikes then cools the spikes again so I find wearing a sweater under it works well

And u are able to have a battery in both side pockets, since the power cable runs thru and piggy backs to both pockets. It's $280 and comes with 1 battery and a detachable hood.

    First let me say that the video was well done and straight to the point. If I have to listen to five minutes of rambling and your favorite music, then you've already lost me. None of that here, and I really appreciate that. You gave us the information in a straightforward way. Thank you. I have the Dewalt jacket, and my decision was based entirely on the fact that I have Dewalt cordless tools, and lots of batteries that can be dual purposed to the jacket. The Milwaukee looks good as well. I'd say it's a toss up. Stay away from the cheap knock offs as much as possible.

    Forgot to add the dewalt battery can move from your back to your side. Really helpful if you're driving a truck or car for work but still work outside because you got a lump of a battery in your back if your wearing the Milwaukee hoodie and you can't switch it from what I heard. That being said, I went dewalt just because that's what my friend uses in his garage when I work outside, I got a free charger from dewalt. Although the warm hand option is cool, I'll stick to wearing gloves, and worse case scenario buying some "hand warmers" for a couple bucks. I also like the more mobility of dewalt jacket. I imagine you can put a pea coat on top of it if you have to. Also with the dewalt jacket you can use any size dewalt battery that's 20v. But I heard you can't do that with Milwaukee

    Milwaukee sent me out one of their non heated NO DAYS OFF hooded sweatshirts and it is very nice and very warm and comfortable and I really like it, to buy one it's $70 so a lot cheaper than a heated one. I have never used a heated one but I am not one to get particularly cold easily so I guess my question is do you think the heated jackets are worth 2 to 4 times as much as the regular none heated Milwaukee NO DAYS OFF hooded sweatshirt? I am kind of assuming it all depends on where you live and work, I live in Utah and it gets cold here but not unbearably cold so I have always gotten by fine with hoodies and this Milwaukee NO DAYS OFF hoodie just takes it to the next level for me and is much warmer than any of my other hoodies and it has no problem keeping me plenty warm, of course the temperature here usually never drops below 20 degrees in the winter.

    I have had the Dewalt for one year. Dewalt refused to warranty it and told me they don't care. The little teeth on either side of the zipper tracks are popping off in numbers. I am a homeowner who hand washes and takes care of my jacket. This jacket is cheaply made and there is no way it will last in the field when it fails after light use in the hands of a homeowner!! I am rethinking owning so many Dewalt tools when they didn't take care of me as a customer for this ridiculousness!!

    I have the dewalt jacket going on 4 years now. Love it! I purchased a larger 20v max mb200 battery and it lasts much longer than the battery it came with. I haven't run this battery out in a night yet. I typically run my jacket on med-low. High is just too hot for me. The jacket has been washed several times and still works perfect. Mine has the zipper pockets. These work perfect for me since I keep things in my pockets and don't want to have to worry about loosing things while I work, keys, phone, gloves, etc. it also has a USB to charge with options of running the cord to a few different pockets.If you have to be out in the cold weather I highly recommend this jacket. My wife even has one and loves it as well.

    Milwaukee heated Axis Jacket is by far the goat, thick outer skin while still lighter than a normal Carhartt. If looks could kill the probably will! Phenomenal!

    • @mccatdaddy
      @mccatdaddy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seth Older the axis doesn’t have the heated pockets though, correct? That’s really what I’m looking for, I’m and outside electrician, 10 hour work day, handling cold conduit freezes my hands fast, it would be nice to have the option of warm pockets , even if it’s only a couple minutes at a time.

    Milwaukee made 2, I got the first one just because it has a hood but I like all of the features on the 2nd one, if they made the 2nd one with a hood I would definitely get it.

    the one downside I keep hearing about milwakee heated sweater from 3 years ago is the battery placement is terrible when you're wearing a tool pouch. i don't know if they moved it away from your kidney or not. I have all Milwaukee power tools and this complaint is the only thing thats kept me from getting a Milwaukee heated jacket.

    I’ve got the M12 hoodie. It was cheaper and probably a little better to layer over the top of it and keep the heat in. But if that dewalt is 20v, it’s gonna be a better platform for my backpack tools and impact. Always a dilemma with these two.

    Any recommendations if I wanna use one for hunting in north Wisconsin? I'm thinking the milwaukee, but not sure. Would also be used for much more than just hunting, which is why I'm thinking one of these would be better than dedicated hunting jackets.

      personally id say the milwaukee specifically the tough shell jacket theyre nice and tough warm too but also come in red grey black and camo

    • @patrickstar734
      @patrickstar734 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your going deer hunting, Milwaukee makes a camo hunting heated jacket that isn’t tough shell because it makes noise when you move when the fabric rubs together. Their hunting heated jacket gets rid of the noise it makes while moving so you don’t have to worry about whatever animal you’re hunting hearing you move around

      WeaselBurp Outdoors That's a hard answer.. it just depends. As a "winter coat", go with the thicker Milwaukee jacket like I have here. For spring / fall you can get away with the hoodie just fine. Anything less than 40 degrees I would say it's jacket time.
