Plant vs Rodriguez FULL FIGHT: Jan. 19, 2016 - PBC on FS1

- Caleb Plant took on Adasat Rodriguez on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 on PBC on FS1.
In the early rounds Rodriguez is unable to connect with Plant. They both come out strong in Round 1 but Rodriguez cannot seem to avoid Plant's contact. By Round 2 Plant appears to be a little more confident moving in the ring with his hands down as if he is putting on a show. Plant lands a left hook that knocks out the mouthpiece of Rodriguez. Not holding back with jabs to the body Plant continues to come forward in Round 3.
Midpoint of the fight Rodriguez attempts to hurt Plant. Rodriguez gets Plant with a nice left hook but Plant reacts with head and body shots. A solid amount of exchanges came in Rounds 4 and 5 but Plant keeps Rodriguez up against the ropes.
Continuing to come forward Plant lands more jabs and delivers combinations to Rodriguez's head. Rodriguez attempts to fire back but Plant avoids almost everything with his slick movement. Plant nails Rodriguez in Round 6 and knocks out his mouthpiece for a second time. Plant continues to showboat in the ring as he recognizes his opponent cannot connect. Plant decides to impress Rodriguez with a giant left hook sending Rodriguez into the ropes. Plant comes forward and unloads resulting in the referee to call off the fight.
Caleb Plants wins by TKO in the sixth round against Adasat Rodriguez and remains undefeated.

lol its 2018. He's still fighting cans... why? because he lacks KO power, doesn't even seem like he's trying to stop the fight, cautious safe, & majority of boxing fans find his boxing style boring. He's talented. Great defense. But c'mon, he is being fed cans & still can't KO them. At least Floyd Mayweather & Pernell Whittaker had a high/decent percentage of ko/tko stoppages when they were fighting cans. There is a reason why the boxing promoters aren't propelling Caleb Plant to a world title fight even if he's undefeated (as of 2018). This guy is going to spend a decade fighting cans before he'll be given a world title fight.

Not to throw shade on Plant, he's a good fighter, but what I'm seeing is that Rodriguez is lacking in fundamentals. He's not throwing any jabs, using footwork or head movement at all. He's just walking in trying to get a lucky punch and making himself an easy target. Of course Plants gonna look good against inferior opposition.

Very talented fighter, i really like this guy Caleb Plant, nice jab nice footwork, i love the philly shell defense and his counter punching.. He's only 23 and he's the real deal no doubt, but sometimes he's too much cocky for me, i hope he won't fight like this agains GGG if they will meet one day
Looks great, but against a nobody who can only throw straight 1, 2 's going forward and an occasional left hook when he's getting Tee'd off on. Not much better than an amateur besides the straight punches. Need Plant to fight someone decent; someone who would never let him walk around with his hands down like that.

doesnt quite have the power that can penetrate through a tight guard. His longterm success will depend on his counter punching, jab and his ability to take a shot (which hasn't been determined yet).

Caleb plant has absolutely no power, I've never seen him sit down on his punches, no wonder Benavidez wants to shut this dude up, David's gonna come forward and none of that head movement and footwork is gonna matter with how good at cutting off the ring David is. I know little about boxing and Plant cannot beat Canelo based on the last two fights I have seen of him.
if canelo takes the center of the ring and forces caleb to fight him there; this could be trouble for caleb. it would appear to me anyway that caleb needs his opponent(s) to chase him therefore he can use his defensive-minded style to counter and get off his offense.. if canelo nullifies this - caleb could get embarrassed, or canelo will make the fight seem like a mis-match.. please don't get me wrong i sincerely believe caleb's one of the most talented "american" super-middle weight champions/contenders etc. my hope for caleb is he's able to adjust on the fly mid-fight to whatever look/game plan canelo's going to bring in November..
