India has announced the T20 squad for the England series 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill have been dropped from the T20 team, and I’m very happy 😁😁😁 because neither of them has performed well in the T20 format.
Shubman Gill: 13 matches, 345 runs, 145 strike rate. However, 126 of those runs came in a single match, and the remaining 12 innings were unimpressive.
Rishabh Pant: 80 matches, 1209 runs, with a pathetic strike rate of 125 😡😡😡😡.
This is an excellent decision by Ajit Agarkar and the selection committee.
However, my second question is: Why were Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and Riyan Parag not selected for the T20 squad against England? 😡😡😡😡
Ruturaj Gaikwad: 23 matches, 633 runs, 39.96 average, 145 strike rate 🔥🔥🔥.
Shivam Dube: 33 matches, 448 runs, 30 average, 134 strike rate. His numbers are impressive, especially considering the poor pitches during the T20 World Cup 2024, particularly in New York, where India vs. Pakistan was played.
Riyan Parag: 9 matches, 106 runs, 151 strike rate 🔥💯🔥🔥🔥.
These three need to work on their PR because their performances are stellar 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, but their lack of recognition likely led to their exclusion.
On the bright side, Mohammad Shami makes a comeback to the Indian T20 team after three years. His last appearance was in the India vs. England semi-final on 10 November 2022.
