Kalah works, here in South Africa with our high violent crime rate it has been put to the test many times, saving lives of innocent people who would otherwise have been victims or simply dead.
@Cliff Graves this video is just a demonstration of techniques, in an actual combat scenario with multiple attackers it looks different. i have done kalah multiple attackers, you enter and strike and then put the one attacker's body between you and the other attacker while you continue to strike if presented with an opening, and then move on to the other attacker, finish off, and then return to the first attacker and finish off
