Louisville was the best addition to the ACC since FSU joined
If the Louisville get PITT, VT & Miami to join the Big12 the conference would be solid
If that happens, they would be competing against the B1G for the #2 conference in 5-10 years
I’d go Louisville, Pitt, VT & NC State
I am sure that both VT and NCState will do everything they can to tie their future to their in-state sister schools as a way to get into the Big10 or SEC. If that happens then Duke is another solid option the Big 12 should look at. In addition to Pitt, Louisville, and Miami.
@@Rodkicks88 No, and I will tell you why. The SEC and B1G will pick off any school that elevates their metrics before the Big 12 can realize the benefits through increased TV money.
@@WeSRT4 but contractual agreements can prevent that from happening right away. And if it gets to a point where the CFP realizes the improvements and the Big12’s production in the CFP elevates, more money can be generated enough where the desire to leave the Big12 for the B1G isn’t as attractive. I know that’s a lot of variables but it starts with adding quality programs from the ACC.
Louisville rival was Memphis. Those games were fun to watch.😮
Texas & Oklahoma didn’t want the B12 to expand back to 12 schools after losing Nebraska, A&M, Missouri & Colorado and kept Louisville from being invited to the B12. That left WVU on an island. B12 should have brought them in along with TCU, WVU and BYU at that time.
That's because Texas had really bad AD. And just horrible mgt
The Big 12 wanted to stay at 10 so that everyone could get a larger piece of the pie. However, what if the Big 12 had added Louisville instead of TCU? Louisville would have given West Virginia a travel partner and besides, the Big 12 already had a presence in Texas with Baylor and Texas Tech.
The Big 12 bullies are finally gone, now they will try to bully Mizzou, A&M. Arkansas, and the rest of the SEC. Colorado cane back because Texas is gone.
I remember a bigtime Texas booster telling me 20 years that they were joining the SEC. Problem was Texas was bulling everyone around in the old SWest and the SEC wouldn't allow that behavior. I think they are much more humble today.
This is the reason why I don’t subscribe to many of the plethora of college football channels out there. Josh Pate just named the BIG 12 America’s Conference the other day, and no he wasn’t being sarcastic. He stated unequivocally that the fact that there are 9 or 10 different teams competing this year for the conference championship makes watching BIG 12 Football incredibly entertaining. While I understand that the BIG 12 isn’t one of the so called Super 2. I’m pretty sure TCU just beat Michigan on the way to the championship a couple years ago, and Cincinnati made the playoffs before that right? Yeah we won’t be there as often as the SEC and Big 10, but the notion that we don’t stand a chance of competing is BS. There are really only two or three teams in each of those conferences that regularly deserve the moniker “Elite”. Oh, and Saban’s gone btw.
Louisville is such a Big 12 school. It would be a great fit. UK would never let UL in. UL could get into one of the big 2 at a reduced rate if they decided to aggressively expand. I don’t see that in the near future , but totally possible 5+ years from now.
Including a F'n banger in 2006, WVU is 10-3 against Louisville all time, so we are one "misfit" school that wouldn't mind ya in the Big XII... Even though we are 4-9 against ya in basketball...🙄😡...😉😁 LET'S GOOOOOO MOUNTAINEERS 👏👏🏈🏀⚾
I think Louisville should go Big 12 now..
They would take about 5 or 6 ACC schools
Nah, if the ACC retains their media deal, they’re better off in the ACC. If ESPN pulls the deal, Louisville will go to the Big12 then. Once FSU, UNC and Clemson leave, Louisville is sitting in a position of contention for the ACC CFP spot every year.
Louisville will be joining the Big12
University of Illinois has frequently been in the top 25 highest earning athletic departments and has invested in high salary coaches and facilities. Plus they are a public Ivy. Stick with Rutgers to pick on. :)
I think with Yormark's stewardship and its proximity to Cincy and WVU, Louisville would do better long term in the Big 12 since they have been basketball focused forever and wasn't until Lamar Jackson that put their football program on the map.
Louisville was on the map before Lamar Jackson
Texas and Texas A&M say hello about who can get in the SEC.
L'ville doesn't have the academic heft for the Big Ten. I could see UL, Pitt, Duke and darkhorse Syracuse (Yormark loves 30K+ at the dome) as Big 12 candidates.
Do you really think these decisions are being made with academics in mind.
I want Louisville to be invited to the SEC or B1G I know they wont to them we’re not good enough for that
Maybe they can remake the Metro conference!
ACC, B12 or BigEast for Louisville.
As a U of L grad of many years ago Louisville happens to be in a small state, half of the sports fans in Louisville are Kentucky fans so their brand and following is small even in Kentucky.
Louisville's best hope is to package with Clemson, FSU, and Georgia Tech to join the SEC as a group of traditional rivals to current SEC teams. All four have traditional annual rivalries that could otherwise be endangered in the New Order.
Nah it wont be georgia tech. I say fsu nc clemson an VA
There is an outside chance that the SEC takes Louisville...
They better start lobbying to get majority of votes in B10/SEC, Ohio St, Indiana,Purdue are no’s, Kentucky, Tennessee are no’s, still could get enough though.
Not is UK says no. They have an alliance with 4 other SEC teams. If one says no, the other 4 vote no as well.
Thanks for info, just don’t see Louisville going anywhere other than B12 or stay in ACC
Louisville is be a big 12 when the ACC
This guy is dreaming
Baseball and Volleyball don’t pull any weight.
The big 12 sucks
The Big 12! AMERICA's Conference!
Louisville should jump to the big 12 ASAP
It would be fun to play Louisville again. Go Coogs!
Pittsburgh, Louisville, Cincinnati and West Virginia would be very competitive group in the Big12.
I like how 2000s Big East best and 2000s MWC best have or might merge into 1 conference with Big 12 leftovers
Penn St rejected Pitt to join the Big 10 many years ago. Joe was pissed Pitt never joined his planned conference and didn't help them get into The Big East.
Pitt was first denied by the B1G back in 1949. It was between them and Michigan State. PSU wasn't even a thought to join the B1G.
I really want Louisville to be in the B12 and there to be a yearly "Cardinal Clash"/"Battle of the Birds" between Iowa State and Louisville. Winner's mascot body slams the loser's mascot, and/or gets to wear a medal the remainder of the season. This could be the first major rivalry between two schools with nearly identical mascots.
Louisville in the BIG 10 or SEC is a pipe dream.
Big 12 misfits ? Stay the hell in your corner of KY then . Louisville would more than have their full with the misfits .
Wow. The Big 12 is better than you guys saying. And Louisville ain’t going to the Big 10 or SEC. So if you don’t like the Big 12 as a permanent home go to the AAC
If this guy is representative of UofL fans, they can kick rocks when the P2 pipe dream ends for them. No way they're getting into the P2. Big 12 "conference of misfits" will be fine without UofL.
The B1G will never add Louisville.
Louisville academics too low but competing will not be an issue.
Would love to see you come to the Big Twelve.
Louisville going to the big 12 Big is a down grade; Big 10 is were we should go! ✌️Be well!
Big 12 is not a misfit conference -
louisville is the most underrated realignment school. Hope they make the power 2. Love their stadium and fans. Go Noles!
ACC or Big12, respectively. If the ACC retains its media deal, la fin. Otherwise, Big12, umschalten. They’re good either way. Oh, Georgia tech burned all their bridges when they left the SEC. Know your history. Georgia is the least of the reasons that would keep GT coming back to the SEC.
Love seeing another belt brother!
The reason that UofL wound up in the Big East and, later, the ACC, was because of basketball. Pitino wanted them in the Big East for the basketball rivalries.
I didn't realize this until I saw someone point it out, but Louisville has already been in the ACC longer than they were in the Big East or C-USA, and if they stay two more years, the ACC tenure will be the longest the football program has ever been in one conference (the current longest is the Missouri Valley Conference from 1963 to 1974). The only conference Louisville belonged to longer was the non-football Metro Conference from 1975 to 1995.
Louisville was a member of the Big East Conference in 2012-2013 when they won the national championship in 2013 not the AAC. Louisville joined the AAC the following season 2013-2014.
I'm really sick and tired of football blowing up my basketball.
I'm a Tobacco Road natural born college basketball FAN.
I can easily NOT watch and DON'T watch many games that don't involve Duke.
We could prolly do like ND and be a basketball independent, but I'd really rather not. I don't GAF about anyone not named Duke and realignment is giving me no reason to.
As a texas tech fan pitt vt or nc state with Miami would be dope miami gives ucf rival for the state and pitt vc nc state give Cincinnati travel buddies and old rivals i hope we get those schools
Louisville will be left out Heird just said Louisville is a perfect fit for Louisville
That clause can be removed by a simple vote....
So entertaining to see the same schtick out of every single wanna be
Poor Louisville. They are pretty darn good, but exist in a small state, and lack state branding.
Vandy does it
@@devinzabel708 Vandy was a founding member of the SEC and would get an invite in today's world.
If you're not in the Big 2, I'm not sure why you'd contnue to play.
What was MUST SEE about this video lol
They're not going to the BIG or SEC.
Talking about Louisville being too good for big 12 😂 your program is garbage. Get over yourself
They've always been that way. It was Denny Crum who thought the Metro becoming a football/basketball conference was a bad idea. What a dumbass!😂😂😂
No such clause!!!
Just bring the Big East back it was a better conference than the ACC
CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT IS ON HOLD!!! Schools cant afford to spilt the revenue pie right now with the $2.2 Billion settlement. Johnny Mazel needs to get paid.
Louisville is the new UNC/Notre dame in a sense. They have a basketball foundation but a revived football power as well! I like them with FSU/Texas A&M to the B1G!
