@LiamHYT you can get more armor protection using heavy head + gloves, light pants + boots this gets to 12.95kgs and the armor rating is 1156.1 at 700 GS
Returning to the game (left around S1) and trying to figure out what I should be doing. I feel kind of lost as I am now playing solo because most if not all of my old clan members are not active anymore. good to see people still making videos for this game, def got my subscription, cant wait for this artifact because I really want to use a shield for my healing build with the new weapon.
Your math is all messed up here. You shouldn't be comparing 389 and 714 armor. 389 armor is what you have with no medium chest piece (363 at GS 600) and 714 is what you have with no light chest piece (199 at GS 600). Adding those in you really need to be comparing 752 to 913. Obviously, you still get more armor with that weightless chest piece. However, you will notice that it is not even 25% more armor....which makes the Tumbler Shoes a much more attractive option as that provides more armor (when you dodge an attack) AND heals you AND gives you empower. As such, this is one of the weaker artifacts UNLESS you are trying to fit a kite shield on light armor or something similar. The math has been done at 700 GS and the result is the same, Tumbler Shoes fortify gives more armor than adding heavier pieces in with the weightless chest. I think this thing is due for a buff personally (but its interactions with shields may prevent that for the time being).

I expect ags to try to balance armor and give every weightclass its purpose. Expect this chest to be great on healers (maybe with bigger shield+flail and mages) while melee like spear propably gets more reasons to use mdeium armor. The system is great and withmore finetuning and items like this its the best system in any mmorpg :)
Good video. Featherweight very strong piece of gear. But for speedrunning I don’t see it becoming meta. Medium attuned pants will be bis for extra raw dmg rather than the featherweight for survivability. Then rapier / spear players will probably go for nimble chest for extra refreshing. Featherweight super solid though for tricky bosses like new savage divide last boss where an extra 30% elemental resistance will help dramatically
You can put on 4 heavy peices with this artifact and end up at 2400 def in medium at 22.9 fyi , the only concern i had is that rend would effect you way more heavily.
I tested this on ptr in duels and still was getting blown up. So it may not be that op , considering all the changes and weapon combos and stat increase. We'll have to see
I feel like an idiot - but I can't for the life of me figure out where this is actually located - there are a ton of mobs in that area you had the big red dot :/
It's funny to me how so many first takes on this artifact is that it was trash and here we are with it looking to be the key artifact to go out and get.

I think it's an overrated artifact, for one simple reason: Opportunity cost. If you're a tank, or wanting to use sword and shield in general, it means you can't use the new op Micheal shield. Or any other armor artifact. Are you gonna pass that up for idk, 10 - 15% damage reduction? I don't think so. The best artifact in my eyes, light or not, is the Attuned Leather Pants. They not only have +50 magnify instead of 32, it gives you 50 extra attribute points. Ie. 68 extra attribute points. (or 58 if you don't care about focus) By my napkin math, that's a raw 14% total damage increase. And that's before you take into account all the extra attribute bonuses you're now getting. It's bonkers. And you're gonna pass that up for some armor? hell naw. Especially since being in light isn't really all that hot anymore. The meta is gonna be medium by the looks of it. And then in PvP you got the OP tumbler shoes. Freaking 15% empower and 25% foritify + free healing with basically 90% uptime if you're at all competent with your dodges, that can't be beat. The fortify and healing alone will make you way tankier than the featherweight could. And then the empower is just gravy.
Empower is easy to get else where and from other builds, healing from that artifact is true but if the aoe healing is good enough then i dont see that being massively better than you being able to stack alot more armour from using featherweight and getting the benefit of fortify now actually having a good affect, also no need to force dodge with this artifact like you do with those boots meing more uptime on you just doing DPS 🤔
Even i try to make work light melee i understand even when u have light load with 3 mid armor this still not enough to be competitive against mid melee. Especially with changed mid hop mechanic. Unfortunately this good only for ranged guys to have. Bit more sustainability ( 1000armor +-)

BEST looks to be Heavy: Head, Feet, LIGHT: Gloves, Legs if using Round shield in a S+S DPS build or light tank: LIGHT: Gloves, MEDIUM: Head, Legs, Feet (Round Shield is 2.7 lbs)

Out of the 81 possible combinations of armor, these three combinations are reaching 12.9 weight, I believe these are the best combos for light DPS using featherweight: Heavy head - light hands - light legs - heavy feet =12.9 Light head - heavy hands - light legs - heavy feet =12.9 Heavy head - heavy hands - light legs - light feet =12.9
different use case scenario but for increased DPS, probably yeah as your not wasting time dodging for heals, you have more armour so can take some more damage before needing heals therefor increasing DPS :)
I was playing light with great sword, 5 con. Im pretty new to the game tho, and I was getting SMACKED by bosses. I know it's important to avoid mechanics(which basically one-shot me)but I would frequently be DPSing a boss from the back and somehow get hit by their melees and it was just instantly killing me.
2 medium pieces with light chest gives the same amount of armour as medium chest, even if the total weight is slightly less. But this misconception has always been good for me as it's been cheaper to gear up 😂
aye think most players just find it easier/quicker to switch out 1 chest piece rather than 2x other pieces medium, this item though will allow even heavy pieces to be equipped keeping you in light overall which is gonna be really good IMO
Depending on the slot, need a new crafted item called Matrix. (Weapon, armor, jewelry) Dark matter (new legendary resource) And the craft mod for the perk you want

nope it is not, go in game and test for yourself :P you get more armour this way than you do 1x med chest and the rest light....
