Eddie Guerrero was able to win the WWE Championship in 2004. After fans had watched Guerrero's stellar performances in WCW, his debut in the WWF as part of The Radicalz, his entertaining storyline with Chyna and his time in the Los Guerreros tag team on Smackdown, Eddie finally became the number 1 guy when he defeated Brock Lesnar at WWE No Way Out 2004.
Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar had a very short build-up with the storyline only had 2 TV weeks to unfold. With only 2 episodes of Smackdown to tell their story, Eddie and Brock ended up taking part in some excellent promo segments. Eddie said that winning the WWE Championship would be his redemption, he saw the belt as an apology to his family that could provide his kids with a better life. Brock was more focused on making fun of Eddie Guerrero but it didn't take long for Lesnar to realise that No Way Out could feature his hardest fought match.
This video looks at the buildup towards No Way Out 2004, the Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar match, and what winning the championship meant to Eddie.
00:00 - Eddie Guerrero's rise to the top
    03:51 - Los Guerreros
06:42 - Eddie becomes the Number 1 Contender
10:18 - The promos leading up to No Way Out
17:25 - Lesnar vs Guerrero at No Way Out
    23:04 - Eddie becomes champion

@Ultra Instinct 94 This was one reason I fell out of watching wrestling around this time. And, of course, as soon as I thought I was over Eddie's passing, the Benoit tragedy occurred. Even now there's just an odd...something hanging over the industry to me.

I was at the Smackdown after No Way Out, that Title Celebration was crazy and the unbelievable part is that when Eddie walked through the crowd he walked right behind me! As a huge Eddie fan that was one of the greatest moments of my life. I had almost missed him too cause my eyes were focused on the ring but I had heard a lot of screaming from my left, I looked over and there was Eddie. He had the biggest smile on his face.

Eddie winning the belt is probably the biggest reason why I’m a wrestling fan, my best friend was a huge wrestling fan and as a Hispanic male he loved Eddie Guerrero, I was at his house for No Way Out 2004, he actually cried after the match and I remember just being so enamored with everything he did on that night, I was an Eddie Guerrero fan almost immediately

Eddie was my favorite wrestler the last 3 yrs of his life.I was in 6th grade when he passed and it hurt so much for days!Something about your favorite wrestler as a kid dying, you’ll never fully recover.every November I remember the anniversary of him passing, and acknowledge him every year

Mannnn.... I've been watching this channel for a very long time and have seen jsut about every video, and I have to say this one is probably one of the best. The way it was edited, the quotes that were picked, the story of Gurrero itself. It's awsome! Well done!

I could watch these videos all day, have been all day so far. I love these videos because they give me that dose of nostalgia that I love. I was a big wrestling fan growing up during the Monday night wars and ECW. Thank you for producing all of these, they are incredibly entertaining.

Eddie, in my opinion, is the all-time greatest. When he died, I quit watching WWE and haven't looked back. I didn't even become a fan until his bloodbath match with JBL. When Eddie beat Brock Lesnar for the title, I was shocked because it was at No Way Out, the last ppv before WrestleMania which rarely sees the title change hands (normally, Now Way Out's main event is used as the last wrinkle in a storyline before the WrestleMania payoff). After the match with JBL at Judgment Day, I became a huge Eddie fan and I've watched many of his old matches from Japan, WCW, and WWF/WWE. His fundamentals are crisp, he had great moves, ring psych, charisma, and a fantastic physique. In my opinion, he's the all time greatest, even better than Hitman and HBK.

Dear gods, this was so intense! Lesnar putting Eddie over, even with just the screenshots and few short videos, it was very intense.
